[6.0] "(Sorry english is not my firtst language) Expect Main event we dont get anything special on this show, like everything for me was mostly fine and then this womens match... yee Xia Brookside and Tasha Steelz maybe shudnt get more time cause the agony would be worster"
[8.0] "A great return here for TNA Impact. To be honest this show may have been pretty skippable were it not for the main event, but boy what a main event this episode had. We got a nice video package on Ash By Elegance here, and I'm excited to see what she can do with some time to shine and a fresh start. Nic Nemeth cut a really good first promo and Steve Maclin was also really good on the stick. PCO vs Jai Vidal was a waste of time, and I found Vidal annoying in general. We got a tease of Okada teaming with MCMG's next week. After the main event Scott D'Amore cut a great promo. There's some pretty exciting stuff happening here early in the return of TNA."
[8.0] "TNA is so back. A good way to wrap up a PPV. The card was absolutely solid and riding off of the high of Hard to Kill, the six way x-division match was amazing through and through. It'll probably be a while until TNA brushes off the remnants of Impact and completely branch itself off from what was done during the Impact tenure but as it stands, it's off to a great start and we can only hope this stays consistent and towards an upward direction."
[8.0] "For the first weekly show I've seen of TNA since its name change I thought it was great with a main event worthy of being one of the best so far this year. Very good for TNA and I'm sure we will see many surprises this year with this revival."
[8.0] "A really good post PPV show, A good fast paced X division opener. Matches being set up for future episodes, a good debut promo for Ziggler, character development for Kaz and a really good main events. The women's match and the PCO squash weren't as good but nothing that dragged the show down"
[10.0] "A great comeback show. I'm so happy to be able to see TNA again, the feeling is back. A great main event, a solid card, Nic Nemeth being the star power, I liked everything about this show."
[8.0] "There couldn't have been a better way to bring TNA back; the show was fantastic. From start to finish, there was excellent in-ring action and a fantastic promos by Nic Nemeth and DAmore at the end. Very good show."
[7.0] "The main event was a high level TV match and the opener was good fun but everything in between was not up to much. Bigger venue and increased production values did help the show feel less small time."
[9.0] "A fantastic episode of iMPACT! to mark the return of the TNA brand. A great six-way X-Division match to start off the show. The X-Division was featured here exactly how I wanted it to be featured. A fast-paced, multi-man match with talent from the USA, Canada, Mexico and Japan, each getting to show their thing. A solid iMPACT! debut for Xia Brookside and I'm looking forward to seeing more of her in the future. Really solid debut promo from Nic Nemeth and a really good exchange with Maclin who came off great here as well. The Josh Alexander-Will Ospreay match was greatness as you'd expect and Will Ospreay is arguably the best in the world right now at laying out matches that keep building in tension with a bunch of false finishes with signature moves while still being able to protect his finisher and putting over his opponent as well. A match that could've easily main evented Bound For Glory and fitting for what possibly could be Ospreay's last match in a TNA ring."
[7.0] "You'd be forgiven for expecting a bit more out of a relaunch show from a surface aspect but unfortunately the TNA rebrand pretty much brings with it the same aesthetic feel of Impact Wrestling. This isn't the worst thing in the world since Impact had turned into a perfectly serviceable wrestling program, but a rebrand seems to mean nothing but nostalgia baiting if there is not real presentation change with it. That said from a wrestling perspective, the important stuff, TNA mostly delivered their usual fare with one clear exception. The six man sprint to start the show was the obvious sustainable highlight, a perfect showcase of several recurring TNA personalities and excellent encapsulation of the X division. From there we meandered a bit as Impact often had, with serviceable stuff that rarely ascends to excellence. Nemeth's promo was standard rote "I'm out of the big leagues and ready to kill it here" material, and while I appreciate what GYV bring to the tag division, their showdown with two TNA vets felt like it barely got out of the gates. This was a fairly forgettable show were it not for Alexander and Ospreay delivering a 25 minute show-stopper in the main event, a roundly excellent match that topped their previous one and gave a big rub to a player that TNA will smartly be building around. While it produced a great main event, I made a point to say mention the other highlight of the show being "sustainable" because unfortunately the final match was not that. Ospreay is not a TNA talent and is not indicative of the kind of talent TNA will frequently get, so while it made for a banger performance here it's not something TNA can rely on going forward. If the rest of the show is any indicator, this is still Impact Wrestling for better or worse, and expecting big things from the TNA revival may be getting hopes too high. Time will tell if other shows can replicate the success on display here, but despite an excellent finale you can't help but wonder if TNA is ever truly gonna be ready to take that next step. Or cross the line, as it were."
[8.0] "Was also leaning 7, but realized how good the opener and main were and I dont think in good conscious I can give this show less than an 8 with those two matches even if I hardly cared for the rest of the card. X division scramble matches are some of the best things they feature on Impact and Alexander/Ospreay 1 and 2 both being TV matches almost feels criminal with how good they both were. Im a lot less big on the rest of the show however. Not huge on the Xia/Steelz match even if I think Xia seems like a good get for TNA. Having GYV on the show was nice but I was just not invested in this Young/Kaz thing they had going on. PCO/Vidal just seemed like something to keep the live crowd happy and entertained because PCO is cool. And then I dont think the promos, backstage or otherwise, really landed. A lot of TNAs strong personalities werent doing backstage promos this episode and I would have loved to see them. And the Nemeth/Maclin exchange didnt interest me as much because it felt so generic and like something I have seen many times before. Match should hopefully be good. So yeah, pretty meh episode sort of sandwiched between 2 noteworthy matches. Hopefully the upcoming weeks feel a little bit more in depth. I am still very interested in how TNA develops this year."
[8.0] "Was leaning 7 but then Scott D'Amore's promo absolutely killed it and bumped it up to an 8. I may be getting my hopes up, but despite being lower on this match than a lot of other peope, I'm so pumped to see TNA back and to see what they do in the future."
[10.0] "Amazing show. Good opener with high flying, Nic Nemeth is the star of the show, no matter if he's Dolph Ziggler or Nic Nemeth. Kazuchika Okada appears and tease the episode for next week. The main event is one of the best matches of TNA history, thanks Alexander and Ospreay."
"Total nonstop action is back and they're ready to make an impact in the wrestling world of today. This was a very good show from top to bottom. I'm very excited to see what's next for TNA. TNA TNA TNA TNA TNA!"
[10.0] "An excellent edition of iMPACT, featuring a strong opener and an incredible main event. Ospreay has once again demonstrated his ability to match up well with anyone, so this does not come as a surprise. TNA started the year hot, and I hope they finish it strong for the promotion."
[10.0] "First wrestling show i watched in years and it really felt amazing. Ospreay vs Alexander made me want to return watching wresling in a daily basis. Thank you TNA!"
[8.0] "Decent episode of the newly reborn new era TNA Impact Wrestling, good action especially in the main event, Scott D'Amore gave an emotionally driven speech to end the episode. Jake Something vs El Hijo del Vikingo vs KUSHIDA vs Laredo Kid vs Mike Bailey vs Trey Miguel: Decent opener six way match, all six gave their best and showcased the best in the X-Division, wish it had more time [***]. Xia Brookside vs Tasha Steelz: Decent knockouts division match with an impressive win for Xia Brookside who defeated a former KO World champion in Tasha Steelz [**3/4]. James Drake & Zack Gibson vs Eric Young & Frankie Kazarian: GYV came into this match off an impressive albeit in defeat showing at Hard To Kill and EY and Kazarian came into this match with a point to prove and to gain momentum but unfortunately they did not get the job done and GYV won with an impressive victory in what was a great match [***]. PCO vs Jai Vidal: A very short match that proved the dominance of PCO against Vidal who was obviously looking for a fight [*]. Josh Alexander vs Will Ospreay: Another absolute banger from these two, was actually better than their previous TNA match, Ospreay showed albeit in defeat that he is the GOAT, Josh Alexander winning was the right choice and also leaves room for a third match down the road, could not ask for a better main event on the first episode of the newly reborn new era of TNA Impact Wrestling [*****]."
[8.0] "I enjoyed this show much more overall than the PPV. Three good matches in the opener, tag match, and main event. The main event topped their match from last year. Some effective wins and progression with the likes of Xia Brookside, PCO, Jake Something, Kazarian, and Eric Young. Nic Nemeth had an effective program and Maclin is a good first feud for him. GYV sticking around would be good for all parties. Some nice setup for next week as well. DAmores speech at the end of the night felt very passionate. A good start to the return of TNA Impact."
