I loved to see Cody, Jey, Cena, Seth, LA Knight, etc. This was amazing to watch live, and I have no choice but to rate it high."

[4.0] "This is the worst WWE PLE of 2023 by far. While not terrible by any stretch of the imagination, it is fine at its best, while frustrating at its worst. Mostly it's just kind of middle of the road and none of these matches live up to how good they should be on paper. While I could say it leaves you wanting more, it's almost a relief that it ends. As a whole its also worse than the sum of its parts. Definitely not unwatchable though."

[4.0] "Definitely contender (thus far) for worst PPV of the year (from any major US promotion). Every match bar one was bad, and the sole remaining one (IYO SKY vs. Asuka vs. Charlotte Flair) was mediocre at best. A complete snore fest headlined with a Rollins/Nakamura match that rendered the previous very good outing kind of moot."

[6.0] "The theme song of the show was called "I Want More", and the show did leave me wanting more. The opener and main event were good matches but nothing special. The Womens Triple Threat was very solid but again, with the talent at hand, you expect more. Cena & Knight vs Bloodline was a simple but effective match and the 6-man tag was pretty boring all things considered. I'm just a bit baffled by the booking decisions. I dont know why Lashley and the SF lost when they were supposed to be a new dangerous force, and man Nakamura looked like an absolute chump. He had everything going for him, the story was built on how weak Rollins back was and how he was going to exploit it and then he lost anyway. There's no recovering from that for him. Aside from the LWO vs Lashley & Co match, Id still say that the show featured good matches, just none that will blow you away. Id give it a 6/10. Could have been a whole lot worse."

[6.0] "From an In-Ring perspective, the performances were good, some of them of them quite inconsistent, some matches had a good dose of psychology and storytelling, others none, but all of them have been negatively affected by lame booking. It literally felt like a glorified weekly show (which I think they should do with this type of transitional PPV). LWO vs Lashley and Street Profits was the worst match of the show, making time in the most boring way possible for Carlito's arrival, which makes no sense at all. The Tag Team Titles matct was good at the in-ring level, but with a too cliche booking. The Triple Threat was the best In-ring match of the night, but it completely lacked psychology and was just about movements and sequences for the sake of it. LA Knight and Cena vs The Bloodline, a complete borefest until the entrance of LA Knight, who breathed great vitality into the fight. And the Main Event, although a little better than the Payback fight, went from more to less, then it improved a little but the ending did not convince me at all. I felt Nakamura too weak against a "broken" Seth Rollins who barely sold his injured back or the mist in his eyes. The big problem with this show was the booking, too focused on creating moments and going easy, what they know the casual audience will accept."

[7.0] "Probably the weakest WWE PLE of the year that being said the bar has been incredibly high so this was still a fun show. It was a 5 match card so it was a shorter show and all the matches had time. Tag title match was a slow burn into an insane climatic finish and a cool title change that I thought foreshadowed a cash in. 6 man tag was a little underwhelming, Carlito is cool to see but we all knew it was gonna happen at this point and they changed his theme! Plus weird to see Bobby and Street Profits take an L as they're supposed to be the new dominant faction. Women's triple threat was probably my match of the night it was even better than the one at SummerSlam and glad to see Iyo retain. Tag match was fun and just cool to see Cena and Knight tag beyond that there wasn't too much to it other than implications for Roman's return. Main event was a great match with some dope spots but Seth retaining and no cash in was a pretty boring ending maybe the cash in would've been a bit predictable as well but I feel it could've elevated the show alot."

[6.0] "WWE has usually put on some pretty good shows for their Premium Live Events in the HHH era, but I dont think that this show was as good. As a matter of fact, I think that this has probably been the worst PLE in the HHH era so far. I honestly feel like even the Raw after this show was better than this. In a show where there are only 5 matches, I feel like none were truly great. It wasnt necessarily a bad show, but it leaves a lot to be desired. This show definitely could have used Gunther vs Ciampa for the Intercontinental Championship, but WWE once again insisted on having the Intercontinental Championship match on Raw instead, even though Gunther is arguably putting on the best matches on the WWE main roster right now."

A lot of botches throughout the show and way more than usual for a WWE show, this definitely was their worst PPV of the year. Some ratings are preposterous"

The show peaked at the start with the tag match, and nothing was really able to match it in quality. The womens 3-way and the Cena/Knight bloodline tag match were both good tho. Seth/Nakamura felt like a parody of a Cena match, but it was decent and the 6-man was fine with Carlito showing back up."
Bammer21 wrote on 10.10.2023:

The Last Man Standing match was great, as was the Triple Threat. The tag match was fun. Pat McAfee's return and promo was good and it was fun to have him on commentary for one match."

The women's triple threat felt awkward to watch but it is good they chose to keep Iyo champ. Shinsuke vs Nakamura was too predictable to enjoy. Nothing on this card felt fresh and exciting. They teased Jade Cargill making a appearance but that led to nothing."

The worst was Cody and Jey vs Judgement day , generic expected judgment day tag which is getting tiring to watch. Happy for Cody and Jey . Cody and Jey were zooted on the press conference leading to comedy gold. Match ratings; Cody and Jey vs Judgment day 3/10 , carlito and lwo vs bobby and the street profits 6/10 , IYO vs Asuka vs Charlotte 7/10 , John and Knight vs Jimmy and Solo 9/10. Yeah! Seth vs Nakamura 9/10."

Was only disappointed with how they made up the return of Carlito (only wrestling for short minutes, having his entrance theme changed, ...) I loved the main event and the Triple Threat, and I was fine with Cena & La Knight teaming up for a rare occasion. A good show overall, and a short one (thanks for that ) Overall rate : 7/10"

"This event certainly outdid my expectations. I went 3-2 in my predictions, going wrong in the curtain jerker and closer. The tag title match opening the show was a smart move, and with the Judgement Day's loss, giving the "Will Damien Cash-In" shadow of the rest of the show. Entertaining, and surprising victory for Cody and Jey. The 6-man was meddling, and never really got going, and Carlito's return was less impactful due to a dull crowd. Solid action, but never really went anywhere. The Pizza Hut ad was WAYY too much though. The Women's Triple Threat was probably MOTN, discounting the main event, and provided a strong win for Iyo, despite the interference, and created the "Asuka tapped out though" storyline for the next few months. Charlotte also took some actual bumps, surprisingly enough. Cena and Knight v. The Bloodline was introduced by Pat McAfee, who, along with Cena and Knight, finally woke up Indy. The match was good, verging on great, but only because of how electric the moves were made by the performers, with the crowd doing somewhat better. This was my favorite match, mainly because I love the megastar, but I could see anyone's dislike of it. Finally, Rollins beat Nakamura again to retain the WHC in a very solid match, but Seth looked like Super-Cena out there. All in all though, well done for the pair. I rate this an 8/10, could've been better, but the six-man and the Pizza was not helpful to it's rating. My prediction video is up on YT, for those who wish to see in-depth predictions."

Well, I know that THAT federation's recent PPVs are really great since I have obviously seen them but here there wasn't even the desire to be like that; it looked like the competitions in terms of wrestling quality is dead. Anyway this is still watchable, I just hope that next PLE won't be such "b series". ***1/2"

"It is rather contradictory that a Premium Live Event whose main theme was car racing was full of slow-paced matches. The only exception was the Women's title match, and it wasn't awesome at all. The opening match had a surprising result, but it was not as frenetic as these battles are expected to be. In addition, the rest of the event was highly predictable. I missed a conventional singles match. Gunther vs Ciampa for the IC title would have been quite refreshing for WWE Fastlane 2023."

The women's match was decent too. I'm glad they went with longer matches instead of packing a bunch of short matches on the card. The Pizza hut sponsorship was extremely extra"

Rollins theme song is now obnoxious due to crowds chanting nothing else. LMS match was ok though overall. Women was match of the night."

"Really good show The Tag Title Match was great. Balor and Priest were great and Uso and Rhodes were great partners 6 Man Tag was the weakest part of the show, Not bad but was your average 6-man tag Women's Triple Threat Match was good, everyone looked great, and IYO retaining was a good choice 2nd tag team match was good. A nice switch from what they did in Cena's last match with Cena getting beat up leading to the LA Knight hot tag. It's crazy how Knight got over in the span of not even a year Last Man Standing was so good. with Seth Rollins getting beat up by Shinsuke, even being knocked off a ladder onto the table, only to come back and win with a falcon arrow through a table. Seth Rollins has put his heart into this title reign. I'll give it a 7.75. Overall a good show, not the greatest show ever, but not a bad one either."

But the ladies tore it up and the opening tag was solid. The main event was decent, but lacked in both violence and consistency."
Some Guy wrote on 08.10.2023:
[4.0] "The opening match for the Tag Team Titles was pretty good, though it felt like a Raw main event rather than a PPV match. This did drag on a little too long. Jey and Cody beating Balor and Priest was a little surprising (6.5/10). The six man tag match started off as a handicap match without really anything happening until Carlito came out to save the LWO. This was okay, no reason for it to be on a PPV (4/10). The triple threat between IYO, Asuka and Charlotte for the WWE Women's Title was the best match of the night. IYO retaining the title was the right move (7/10). Cena and LA Knight vs The Bloodline went too long as most of the match was Cena getting beat up before a hot tag to Knight. The final minutes were good, aside from that this was nothing special. Again, this didn't feel like it belonged on a PPV (4/10). The main event Last Man Standing match was actually very good for a while and there were multiple times where a finish with Nakamura winning would make sense, but with Rollins being given super plot armor the match kept going until he won. After the beating Rollins took, there was no cash in (6.5/10). Fastlane was a filler show, with only five matches and three of them feeling like they should be on TV instead. Some of the matches dragged on longer than they should have. There wasn't any great match to carry this and make it memorable. Fastlane was a disappointing show and gets a 4/10."
DanTalksRasslin wrote on 08.10.2023:
[4.0] "A filler show if ever there was one. Solid performances as you'd expect in this era, but a decent but not stellar match lineup and some questionable booking decisions weight on it heavily. Cody/Uso vs Balor/Priest was pretty good, though I don't really see the point of switching the titles, and it's kind of funny how so much was made about Jey Uso being on his own now, and the first thing he does is win another tag belt, albeit with a new partner. LWO vs Lashley/Street Profits was OK and Carlito's return was cool, but it very much felt like a TV match. Sky vs Asuka vs Charlotte was fine but maybe a little too long. Cena/Knight vs Bloodline was also fine and a decent rub for Knight as he continues his push. Rollins vs Nakamura was overly long and somewhat plodding, with a very basic formula with Nakamura dominating only for Rollins to come back with a few moves to win at the end. I don't see the point of running this match again for the second month in a row with the same result, but it does seem to indicate that Nakamura's probably never going to get any closer to actually holding a top title in WWE - really sad how badly he's been wasted for nearly the entirety of his main roster run. As a general point I do at least appreciate the shorter lineup and runtime for this - not every show needs to be a 4+ hour, 10+ match extravaganza. A definite weak link in what had been a pretty solid run of WWE PPVs this year."

[9.0] "Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso vs Damian Priest & Finn Balor: A match that exceeded my expectations, as I thought it would have been just another typical JD match, even with the interferences from Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh made for an interesting watch even with the mishap from JD McDonagh to Damian Priest, which continues to pique my interest when it comes to the JD storyline further down the road, Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso winning the titles was a surprise and well deserved, great way to start the PLE [****1/2]. Carlito & LWO vs Bobby Lashley & Street Profits: This match should not have been on the PLE, as it felt like it was a match more suited to be featured on Smackdown, while the return of Carlito was nice to see the first half was essentially a filler while the return of Carlito kept the audience with anticipation, which some would see as a good thing but unfortunately I didn't [**]. Asuka vs Charlotte Flair vs IYO SKY: A great triple threat match, with IYO SKY showing why she is the women's champion, Asuka and Charlotte Flair looked good as well, enjoyed it throughout [****1/4]. John Cena & LA Knight vs The Bloodline: Good tag team match, John Cena and LA Knight worked well together despite them never teaming up before, The Bloodline dominated for the first half of the match which was not unusual, but then John Cena and LA Knight picking up the win was a surprise [****]. Seth Rollins vs Shinsuke Nakamura: A brutal last man standing match, with Shinsuke being buried again with the loss, despite Seth Rollins having issues with his back which I dont get WWE's booking thinking when they booked this match, Rollins should have dropped the title to Nakamura and get his back sorted out, it was still an enjoyable match though [****1/2]"

The Tag Title match was actually very good. and the seth and shinskue match was fun. You already knew the outcome of Rollins vs Nakamura as they'll not going to give Nakamura the world title. They just had to do the interference stuff for the Judgement day match. The Triple Threat match made no sense to use the spit at the beginning of the match and it was extremely cheesy having the female referee putting a towel on Charlotte Eyes saying I know and stuff like that. The triple threat was fine but all three women have had better matches and better triple threats (also Charlotte doesn't need to be 100% of the time around the world title picture), Iyo deserved a clean win but apparently we have to keep stretching the story. That Cena match! I couldn't believe my eyes when I read it only went 17 minutes. The build-up to the Knight hot tag was excruciating. I could've sworn we were watching the Bloodline beat down Cena for an hour. The main event was also a real slog of nothing much happening, with Super Cena - sorry, I mean Rollins - getting up at the count of 9 for everything, despite having an injured back. Also having Lashley's new group lose again feels incredibly misguided. Not one I'll remember when looking back on 2023 in wrestling."

Judgment Day vs. Cody & Jey: MOTN, during the match it was possible to notice some botches, but the construction was still very well done, given the result and the circumstances the hook for a possible cash in at the event was clear (****1/4). LWO vs. "Hurt Business 2.0": this match was terrible, not because of the action in the ring, but because of the build-up, why make the new group lose before establishing themselves? All this to promote a return (which should have been made at the beginning of the match) for Carlito who entered, used 2 moves and won the match with almost no reaction from the crowd (**). Iyo vs. Charlotte vs. Asuka: TT was very good and Bayley's interference was very welcome for the continuation of the story (****). Cena & Knight vs. Bloodline: the crowd gave this match a good boost, which had good nearfalls and a predictable result, even though John Cena is a legend and consequently a great draw, this match had the total appearance of a SmackDown main event (***1/2). Rollins vs. Nakamura: once again our dear Nakamura was buried, the challenger carried most of the match and there were moments he just didn't win because Seth used and abused the Never Give Up babyface tactic, the match was very good, but the ending was terrible and the no cash in at the end was even worse (****1/4). The opener was decent and even though it wasn't invested in it as much as I wanted to be they stayed professional and delivered an okay match crowning the new champions. Then two not very good bouts happened, first being the 6-Man Tag Match with absolutely dumb booking of Carlito's return and then the Triple Threat Match that had no continuity in it and all women were just getting from one spot to another. The second Tag Team Match of the show was nice with Knight being the main star in it and they just went for the old school Tag Match that you couldn't do with guys less over than Knight, but here it just worked. And then the abysmal main event that was built up as this barbaric grudge match was just a spotfest with no hatred between the two guys and the finish appearing out of nowhere. I wasn't really excited for this show but I still thought that it will be decent at least, but instead I got really disappointed."

It was a progressive show in giving needed wins for the likes of Iyo and LA Knight. The title change to open the show was well received. I have enjoyed a lot of the main roster WWE PLEs this year but this one felt like it could have used some finer tuning. Not a bad show but one that could have used some more energy in a number of places."

The 6 men tag... forgotten at all possible because it was shit. Bring back Carlito (we suspected) to put a fall so simple and make the Lashley clan fake in such a short time... its very strong. The Womens Triple Menace was nice with the good winner in the end. Cena and LA Knight vs Bloodline was a decent match but nothing more with a win sending LA Knight over Reigns (even if we know that Reigns will win by intervention or other. And the Main Event... the game is good but its just unbearable to see Rollins in Super Man mode, having no limit to problems with his back, bury Nakamura who did all this for nothing. The finish is completely missed with a Falcon Arrow that ends the match and breaks the whole storyline."

I'll give credit to that match for being engaging despite being the same Judgement Day tag we've seen before, but it still wasn't anything special. The rest of the card ranged from house show tier to outright boring, with a disappointing finish to the main event souring a potentially great match. I doubt Shinsuke is going to come back from two losses in a row during his first main event feud in years. Teasing a Priest cash-in without capitalizing on it is massively disappointing, too. After a streak of good PPVs, this is WWE's first miss in awhile. I guess seeing Carlito was... cool?"

None of the matches were bad per se, although the six man tag felt more like a TV main event than a premium live event match. Five matches may seem like too few but it was fine for this show. Everything doesn't need 8 matches and to go for four-plus hours. One surprising finish in the opener but the rest went like I thought it would. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday."

Can't tell you a thing about the six-man tag: too distracted by ALL THE FUCKING PIZZA HUT ADS. Jesus fucking Christ, WWE. I understand you're a bunch of corporate slug men but please mask it just a tad. The women's 3-way was alright I guess. Fun in bits, sloppy in bits, it is good that Io retained. Cena/Knight vs. Bloodline was just meathead sports entertainment. Was never going to be a good wrestling match but it got all the predictable pops so cool I guess. Controversial opinion incoming: HATED Rollins vs. Nakamura. One of my biggest pet peeves in all of wrestling is when the heel just absolutely smashes the babyface for 95% of the match before the babyface gets off like 4 moves, wins somehow, then undersells their ass-whooping post-match. Also tried to circumvent the no blood rule with red mist, which was super corny and also not every Japanese wrestler needs to do mist, it is giving kinda racist. Anyways, whatever, why do I keep watching this?"

The opener was MOTN, the trios match was really basic outside of Carlito popping up, and the other three matches were all quite good but nothing spectacular at all. It all ends with a pretty bland statement for the WHC scene where Seth superheroes his way through 30 minutes of targeting his weak point to win and Senor MitB can't even capitalize on how mangled he is because he took one shot to the knee hours prior. Hot crowd though, especially for both 2v2s."

The singles matches are easily the highlight, with the spot filled athleticism of the womens triple threat match delivering on the promise of those names, and the brutal main event being match of the night easy. Tag team matches didnt hit for me though, first was strong mainly for storyline reasons but the wresting itself wasnt on the same level as the singles matches. The other two were standard, with the Cena, Knight/Bloodline match feeling like an eternity. Still good overall though!"
