[8.0] "Great show to cap off 2022, with a very good title match main event and ~secret dark match~ that went quick but wowed. The lucha trios was also fun."

[10.0] "There's the GCW I know. A night of main events, you can see the seeds being planted for Masha Slamovich even though they should probably go with Dark Sheik or Sawyer Wreck. A lucha tag took all the biggest cheers, Gringo getting over with his lucha skill. Nick Gage had a banger with Tony Deppen, that's the Gage I know who puts on main event quality matches."

[9.0] "Lots of very fun wrestling with the best match of the card being the trios. The Los Angeles crowd absolutely loves Willie Mack and I hope GCW continues to book him here. I also worry for whoever beats Nick Gage for the belt because he gets maybe the biggest pops Ive heard at an indie show. They will immediately become the biggest heel in GCW."

[8.0] "GCW LA shows in the UCC always go HAM, this is no exception. Absolute crazyness throughout the night. The Lucha Trios is certainly the show stealer of the weekend already. Janela coming out with the biggest snake i? ve ever seen in my life was certainly a surprise. The broken ring rope perhaps hurt the show. One negative is i wish GCW would stop booking Shawn Scovillle and Denise Salcedo, neither add anything to the show and make GCW look amatuer. Great show."

[7.0] "Pretty good event! Not quite up to the level of brutality that people associate with GCW, but a good serving of various matches. Starts off with a highly enjoyable if pretty spotarific and six man scramble - lotta fun moments, lotta fun interactions, pretty quick pacing, not a lot of meat and doesn't really have a proper arc like you expect from a top level high flyer showdown but it's a good time and a bang to start on. Next up is Starboy vs Cardona, a good singles match that is let down somewhat by Cardona being a fairly mediocre wrestler who places a lot of the burden for keeping up the pacing on Starboy. I adore the twink farmhand outfit he has going on, and it was pretty satisfying to see him win even if the double fakeout was a little silly. After that is a three way women's match - all of these workers are very talented but this feels a little muted in comparison to my expectations - lot of good moments but it felt a little slow and lacking impact. Still a highly enjoyable match, but should have been a highlight. The six man lucha tag team match after is a big step up - not only are the spots great, but it's tense with lots of high impact wrestling and it feels close all the way up until the bell. Janela takes on Pagano for the Extreme Title next - decent match but I found it somewhat forgettable. Joey did bring out a massive python that was adorable and got a bigger pop when it was taken backstage than anything in the actual match. Lloyd vs Mack is similarly forgettable in addition to being very short. It's a lull and probably should have been cut and moved to a different event where it could breathe. The final trio of matches is all big ones - first up is Charles Mason vs Effy in one of my other highlights. It's the slugfest I was waiting for, even if it was surprisingly mostly bloodless, and though the ending is fairly unsatisfying all the action up to it is brutal and fun to watch and whatever this leads up to will probably be excellent. The penultimate match and final highlight is the Tag Team Title match between the RockNES Monsters and Los Mazisos, another match that feels like a real slugfest and brings a surprising degree of chaos to what isn't a notably fast-paced match. The whole event ends off with the big World Title match, Deppen vs Gage. I won't beat around the bush, this isn't good. Gage looks slow, Deppen tries his best and actually does a pretty good job but doesn't really get the heat he deserves, and the whole match kinda stumbles to the end with a series of door-related mishaps that will surely be on Botchamania. It's not a good match, but it's still pretty enjoyable, and against all odds it does tell a decent story with Deppen feeling truly out of his depth. That said, even by the end he's kinda phoning it in, which I don't blame him for. All in all, a pretty good show. No real classic matches, but almost everything was good and I was never bored. Not a standout for the promotion, but a decent way to spend an evening."
