[9.0] "Underrated show, absolute barn burner of a main event and no weak shows on the card with even Alexa Bliss having a good match. Not to crap on Alexa's ability but since taking the fiend gimmick her matches had generally been spooky and silly matches where her opponent looks like a chump but this did not happen with Charlotte who looked dominant in victory. Perfect order of matches too, strong show."
[9.0] "Really good show, I judge on match quality and the match quality was very high and consistent throughout, the worst match was Charlotte vs Alexa Bliss but even that was a solid match, hot opener, hot triple threat, strong tag match and a great main event where Roman continued to hit his stride as the best worker in the business."
[5.0] "You know what? If I was rating the shows based solely on match quality, this show would have ranked higher. But alas, booking is also a factor. The opener was fun and showcased everyone's talent. Usos vs Street Profits was an athletic display but the crowd was not into it for the first half. Charlotte vs Bliss was slow and kind of boring, but Charlotte killed Bliss' Fiend gimmick so it's a plus. The Triple Threat for the United States Championship was fun, but in a match that was trying to build Priest, Hardy looked like the star of the show. Becky vs Bianca showed their chemistry together, but a DQ finish at Extreme Rules is always ludicrous... but not as ludicrous as the finish of Roman vs Balor. Some people don't understand why others shit on a show who has a bad finish. You spent 3 hours or more of your time watching something, you want a satisfying ending to reward the time and money spent in order to watch the show. That's why when an ending is truly terrible, it sours the whole experience because it feels like it was all for nothing. And that's why the stupid ending to Roman vs Balor drags it so far down."
[3.0] "This event of No Extreme Rules (taking out the Main Event), everything else was, unfunny, I don't know, an event called Extreme Rules would have to have at least several bouts with interesting stipulations with the agreed upon theme, it's all a joke what WWE does with its fans, still, the ignorant applaud such a show."
"Terrible PPV. Aside from the Smackdown womens title match and the opener this waa just a glorified house show. The Usos are just fat and lazy now i guess and aside from Montez Ford being able to jump real high the street profits didnt show much of anything either. The three way dance was medicore and the wrong guy won because Damien Priest was just not having a good night out there. Too many botched spots from Preist. The highlight of the show was the cameraman giving us a great shot of the alka seltzer tablet Bliss had in her mouth during the post match angle with Charlotte Flair. The main event was nothing special, just a filler match where both guys went 70 percent to headline an anemic and lifeless pay per view. Thank goodness i didnt pay a dime for this sbow."
[4.0] "Great show as far as the wrestling is concerned, with star performances from Sheamus, Montez Ford, and Roman Reigns. Special mention must go to the US Title three-way, which felt almost AEW-esque in its pacing and flow. Unfortunately, as is all too often the case of late, this great wrestling is let down by extremely poor booking. You simply cannot have a supernatural babyface hulk up by flopping around like a salmon, just to then lose by falling 5 feet from the clearly gimmicked top rope. It is completely antithetical to pushing a big new Hispanic star to then have him only retain his title via a roll-up on an injured competitor. Having the potential for a huge, bombastic Women's Title match between Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair is great. It just doesn't draw any fans in when the match ends in the typical 50/50 schmozz with an anti-vaxxer showing up to interfere. Yet again, WWE provide a disappointing show, not because of the talent on roster, but despite it."
[9.0] "Other PPVs had higher ceilings but this one had no matches that I would tell anyone to skip on recommendation. Best top to bottom PPV of the year."
[6.0] "The build-up towards this PPV was much better than the event itself, and was a big reason I didn't entirely hate it. I think it was mostly enjoyable with a great Usos-SP match as well as a great US title match. Only having one Extreme Rules match is fine as it was the main event and played a key role in its pace and finish, I think people who are 'outraged' by this are performative, naming and branding a PPV around the the main event and its stipulation is commonplace in wrestling (see Royal Rumble, ROH/Noah PPVS, etc.) The endings were questionable even if I didn't mind them, but they definitely held it back from feeling like an essential show to watch. It is clear after watching that WWE didn't want Extreme Rules to be anything more than a B-tier PPV that serves to further progress character development and storylines."
[7.0] "This may be the weakest non-Saudi show WWE has done since Royal Rumble 2020. While none of the matches were bad, none of them crossed the line into great. Combine this with a DQ finish on the Smackdown Women's Title match and a "See you next Friday" finish for the main event and I feel a 7 is honestly a little bit generous. However the quality of the matches help this show from dropping lower."
[6.0] "The show had great matches but only 1 match, out of 6, had an Extreme Rules stipulation at EXTREME RULES. Other than no stipulations, the show was pretty good."
[3.0] "Real filler PPV, felt like a episode of RAW and I was not really into it. Only one match even had 'extreme rules'. Becky/Bianca was ok but can matches actually finish please WWE? I think Heyman had the rope cut (he was holding the Universal belt upside down to say 'me'), Kind of clever."
[5.0] "This PPV was alright. It felt like a typical RAW or Smackdown, but the matches were mostly pretty good. The ending to the main event drags this down for me a bit, but otherwise, solid show."
[4.0] "As is often the case with modern WWE, a show with more than enough talent for a good show is generally not used well. Big E not being booked in a world title match, the latest Fiendess nonsense, the SD women's title match ending in a DQ (at EXTREME RULES) and the idiotic finish to what was a decent main event up until that point. This really could have been a solid show if WWE just let their talent use their talents and not get in their way with such awful booking."
[8.0] "Every match was great. Actually this PPV deserves a higher rating, but it is called Extreme Rules and I did not watch anything too extreme so... 8 is the highest from me."
[7.0] "Good show, of course it's far from the heights of All Out, but it had to be expected, while All Out was AEW's biggest show to date, Extreme Rules is a transitionnal PPV, we know important things are kept for Crown Jewel and Surivor Series. I think the show fared well for a transitionnal PPV, every match had good to great in-ring action and got enough time to reach most of its potential. My only complaint is the card order, having 2 tag matches in a row doesn't work because WWE tag matches are formulaic, and ending with 3 tainted finishes in a row is frustrating."
[4.0] "The in ring action was good mostly. The booking on the other hand made me felt cheated from what could have been a great night of wrestling. 3 matches are worth praising- The Opening, The SmackDown Tag match and the US Title match. The last two matches were major disappointments."
[7.0] "The Great: Both Tag Matches and the US Title Triple Threat were really fun bangers The Good: The Womens Matches , the first Half of the Main Event and Sasha Returning The Bad: Charlotte Retaining, The Lilly Stuff, Having a DQ finish, Only Having one Gimmick Match and whatever the Hell was the ending Overall: 7/10 PPV The In ring work is fun all the way through but with a bit better booking it could have been great"
[7.0] "It was alright just very predictable. Nobody believed any title changes were gonna happen and The Demon doing the heartbeat flop on the outside to his music was the lamest thing I think I've seen in a long time and I love Finn Balor/The Demon. The 6-Man Tag to open the PPV was probably the best match on the card."
[7.0] "Great show, all the matches were at least good and most certainly fun. Nothing really that blown me away but quite enjoyed the whole thing. The ending is meh, but I was kind of in a good mood after watching the whole PPV for it not to really matter that much."
[4.0] "Show started well with a fun 6 man tag match, the Tag Team Title Match was great then the show fell of a cliff. Alexa and Charlotte was poor, the Triple Threat was ok and the final two matches were DUDs with ridiculous finishes. Poor show overall."
[1.0] "A disappointing pay-per-view being pure shots and an "Extreme Rules" with no stipulations. Only one match had extreme stipulations. The PPV is not worth it, it has one or another solid match but the endings are very bad and the bookeos are bad."
[5.0] "- New Day vs Team Lashley 6/10: was a nice opening tag and I like these matches, they have a NJPW vibe to them and 5 wrestlers out of 6 are great. Not a fan of the finish, it's lame to have Lashley pinned again, especially if he gets a rematch even tho the man he faces has beaten him, no logic whatsoever. - Usos vs Profits 7/10: good tag match, Montez sold his injury well and it made for a good story. If only the Usos had any originality and weren't lame copies of the Young Bucks it woulda been much better and it sucks cause they're good, but they lack that last thing to become as great as New Day or Street Profits. - Charlotte vs Alexa 0/10: Alexa forgot her powers home? Not even an attempt to hypnotize her opponent, like, what the hell? Once again, those are great performers who have an important value, but they were put in a position to annoy me, if you have powers great, not using them in a big match? Kills the character. Carmella vs Liv was much better. - Priest vs Sheamus vs Jeff 7/10: soom good wrasslin with Sheamus and Priest doing the hoss stuff and Jeff doing the high flying, entertaining 3 way and even if it never gave me the doubt on the result it's definitely the match WWE needs more often. Lame finish tho but it's ok. - Bianca vs Becky 7.5/10: Becky hasn't lost a step, she wrestled a smart match and played her role perfectly making Bianca look like a million bucks, perfect stuff over there, exactly the match these two can have, a shame it wasn't their first: had Becky seen that Bianca is too strong and cheated to become champion it woulda been a better heel turn for her. The DQ finishes are always lame but this is one of the cases in which I can understand it and also Sasha is back and she's the boss. Without DQ it woulda been 8 but again, I get it. - Reigns vs Balor 4/10: they didn't have a bad match but all the stuff surrounding it is lame. For starters, how everyone in the card gets a normal match and only Roman can destroy tables and barricades. Then, the demon has superpowers and it's ok, it's a fake show, but his music playing when he beats up the bloodline? Incredibly hokey. The turnbuckle breaking? Lazy, have the balls to book a clear winner, in 6 main show matches half didn't have a clean finish. Reigns in general is irritating because sometimes they make him dominant, sometimes he wins because stuff just happens to his opponents. People criticize NJPW's EVIL but the man lives and dies by interferences from his pals, that's coherence in my book. - PPV 5/10: WWE in a nutshell. Some great wrestling as I gave half matches at least 7/10, motivated workers who always put on a great show and effort in every match, but mostly lame writing that doesn't make any sense and cheap finishes, half of this PPV didn't finish cleanly, so like yeah it wasn't too bad but just how they write the stuff, it seems purposedly made to overshadow what happens in the ring, Becky and Bianca really saved the day."
[1.0] "Show had some awesome wrestling with the match of the night being the Triple Threat US Title match, but the finishes to Charlotte Vs. Alexa, Becky Vs. Bianca, and Roman Vs. Balor were God Awful. Also really disappointing to see a lot of normal matches instead of some gimmick matches. After all the show is called Extreme Rules. Nothing was really extreme about it, and just felt like an average episode of Main Roster TV. Not even the amazing wrestling in some of the matches could end up saving this show in the end. Worst Main Roster Show I have seen in a long while."
[2.0] "I? m sorry, but this is one of the worst PPVs of the year. Only one extreme rules match on an extreme rules PPV, , and with most the matches completely forgettable."
[4.0] "Extreme Rules with one match in which no disqualification - it's joke. I can't believe it that in this show that it was extreme. About matches I can say that they are normal and sometimes good but they don't match to name of show"
[1.0] "Four main belts. Not a single one had a satisfying finish tonight. Raw men's was a six man tag with the title match flexed to Raw, Raw women's involved a doll distraction then your main face mourning the death of a doll whilst foaming from the mouth, smackdown women? s ended in a DQ, and the SmackDown mens ended with Finn summoning the spirit of New Jack then falling on his face so Roman can carry the strap into Saudi Arabia."
[1.0] "The name of this show is Extreme Rules, but I did not see any extreme scenes. I felt the child show more than pro wrestling in this show. The final moments were a bad joke and the mistake of the referee and Heyman was quite obvious after the ring broke and this match ruined the character of Finn Balor.."
[4.0] "No surprise(Sasha? Come on that's not a surprise, and she ruined a good title match), no title change, no exciting cards. What do they have? Bullshit moments! If WWE doesn't value this PPV(before the start of this PPV, they were already promoting the main event of next PPV), why would anyone, I mean anyone, think it's good? I just feel disgusting, especially the ending of the main event, it's just an insult to audiences' intelligence."
"A decent show with a lot of safe title defenses and rematches before the draft, some questionable booking choices in regards to Becky vs Bianca and Roman vs Finn, but other than that everything was about as good as expected. 7/10 on the whole."
[6.0] "A night of above-average in-ring competition where every single match except Usos/Profits had bad booking hurting it. Crowd was hot when there was stuff to react to, but pretty much everything about this show's booking worked against that, since the only match without bad booking had a clean heel win. Opener took a bit to get going but I enjoyed it a good bit; everybody got a chance to shine without rushing through spots and it made Big E out to be a star, which makes me hope that he can actually defend the title (***1/2). Usos vs Profits was SUPER hot, a very standard tag match with a couple great high spots to pop the crowd; they played up Ford having bad ribs and had the whole match worked around that and had the finish play into it, everything about it worked just fine (***1/2+). Charlotte/Bliss was the worst match on the show but it wasn't bad; there's a couple sloppy spots and there's dead air despite being the shortest match on the card, but both of them are on point with character work and Bliss got the crowd invested even in the excruciatingly long post-match (**3/4). US Title match was enjoyable mostly for Sheamus who is an exceptional bully heel getting in the way of a respectful match between Priest & Hardy; Jeff has multiple "off" moments (I think him and Priest just have bad chemistry for some reason) and the finish was deflating but this was enjoyable whenever Sheamus did Sheamus stuff and decent otherwise (***1/4). Becky & Bianca had the match people wanted out of Summerslam with a great story of Bianca just being too strong for Becky's offense to work on her, or for underhanded tricks; the attempted tug on Bianca's hair leading to her being pulled into a spinebuster was fucking amazing. Unfortunately, Sasha runs in BEFORE the match is over despite wanting to fuck with both competitors, ruining the face's moment but positioning herself against the heel, turning the finish into negative heat, while having you question why an EXTREME RULES PPV had a DQ finish (***3/4 or so, depends on how much the finish hurts everything before). The main event is really something. Roman & "The Demon" start the ER match with a fucking LOCK UP, Finn pulls out a big bundle of sticks as a weapon, they fight for a while, Finn goes through a table, they brawl in the crowd just to stand on top of the pre-show desk for another table spot, they go back, Usos run in as expected, and then "T-T-T-THAT'S THE DEMON'S HEARTBEAT! " I'll be honest, if The Demon just outright won off of that comeback with the lights and the music, or the stomp broke the ring after it hit and there was a No Contest, I would've actually loved it, but doing it and then cutting off the comeback with the top rope breaking was just the dumbest thing (***). A PPV determined to leave a bad aftertaste despite serving good core content."
[10.0] "Every match was good or awesome. This show has not bad match and this is incredibly good.Opener was good, main event was good Becky's match was MOTN.Everyone played their part perfectly"
[9.0] "I thoroughly enjoyed the PPV, there wasn't anything remotely bad on it, it does come down to one's taste of it though, I watched it with a bunch of people and I had a great time. I can understand some of the frustrated consumers too, but a lot of the wrestling was done to a good degree. Much like HIAC, the matches were great, the finish however was lackluster."
[8.0] "Really good pay-per-view overall. All of the matches were good, and all made sense except for the ending of Reigns/Balor. B-PPV's are almost always good, and this was no exception. It was nice that it was a lot less bloated then SummerSlam, which helped the pacing. Good show, excited for the next shows. Curious to see where Balor goes from here as well."
