The Profits vs. Rollins/Murphy was ok. Mansoor and Ziggler had an ok match as well. Reigns vs. Corbin while not horrible was not great and plodding at times, and Bayley vs. Naomi was boring as hell. Brock and Ricochet was what it was a squash match. That main event really pisses me off. How fucking dare you Vince McMahon and Goldberg for squashing and derailing the push of the hottest thing going for this company since CM Punk. I give this show a 3/10"

The fact it also had Goldberg beating The Fiend in the main event was just the final nail in the coffin. Just a massive fuck you to both Ricochet and The Fiend when it really didn't have to be that way. Fiend obviously but Ricochet/Brock could've just been a fun match if they cared about presenting Ricochet as a main event talent. Seeing what Brock could do with Styles and Bryan then not trying something similar with Ricochet is mind boggling to me. Going back to the Fiend, just really sucks. Character ruined for many at Hell in a Cell, then a terrible Miz feud, and finally Goldberg just crushing Bray's creative dreams. RIP Bray Wyatt."

Overall WWE Super Showdown (2020) is literally the same as the 2019 one showed everything that was wrong with WWE at the time but way worse with god awful matches and booking making it the all time worst WWE shows ever."

I'd probably want to give this whole event a 0 just based off of that, but this also had the awful Undertaker gauntlet, Reigns/Corbin feud, Lesnar's unnecessary squash of Ricochet (wild that that happened on the same card as Fiend/Berg, huh? ) and not a whole lot to balance that out. This is a modern PPV so bad that there was talk at the times of WWE going under. Bottom of the barrel stuff."

The gauntlet match was just done to further the AJ Styles and Undertaker program, theres three very average singles matches and while the tag matches are the best thing on the card theyre a bit of a letdown. As for the main event, I dont mind Goldberg winning if they hadnt spent months making the fiend some supernatural monster first and then had him lose so easily. To be honest he shouldnt have had the title this early so the booking was bungled from the beginning"

[2.0] "Not the worst Saudi show of all time but still terrible nontheless. Aside from R-Truth's unexpectedly fun antics, the Tuwaiq trophy match was a slog of a match that ended up being won by the Undertaker, who wasn't even an entry to begin with. What a waste of time (*1/2). Thankfully, two really good tag matches managed to save this show in a way. The first one between New Day and Miz/Morrison was a fun match with lots of risky bumps and a feel-good moment for Miz and Morrison getting another chance to rule the tag team division once more (***1/2). After that, we get a nothing match between Garza and Carrillo. Nothing bad but the crowd was so dead it ended up being forgettable (**3/4). The second of two good tag team matches came up next as Rollins & Murphy defended against the Street Profits with a fun final stretch that had fans on edge that the Profits will win before Rollins managed to sneak away with the belts (***1/2). Mansoor vs Ziggler was decent but Mansoor couldn't quite capture the same magic he made with Cesaro several months before at a better Saudi show (***). The show then takes a nosedive as Brock Lesnar squashed Ricochet to retain the WWE Championship. Aside from Ricochet selling his ass off, this was such a disappointment given Brock's good reputation for working with smaller opponents (*). This was followed by a boring cage match in the overly-long Reigns/Corbin feud that should've ended months ago. When not even the crowd can get hyped for a Roman Reigns match, you know something is wrong (*1/2). The Women's Title match was fine enough and had a proper buildup, unlike last time, but aside from a clever finish with Bayley using Naomi's shirt, there was nothing special (**1/2). And then we get to the main event. You'd think that an unstoppable monster heel like 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt would defeat Goldberg and go into WrestleMania as champion, right? Nope! Instead we get one of the worst, most frustrating WWE matches of all time as Goldberg simply buried The Fiend, pinning him clean in two minutes after a few spears and one poorly-executed Jackhammer. This is genuinely one of the most shameful booking decisions of all time. Having a fresh face like Wyatt being destroyed by the older, more limited Goldberg pretty much sums up the state of WWE at the time where fascinating characters and intriguing booking get shoved aside for lame nostalgia pops and big money WrestleMania matches that don't need a world title to be big. It's the main reason why people don't buy into newer stars anymore because we all know WWE were going to screw it up and send in Goldberg or Brock Lesnar to destroy their momentum for good. And the fact that this is the SECOND time WWE pulled this bullshit off before WrestleMania is even worse (-**). Simply put, avoid this show at all costs (2/10)"

The matches for the Tag team titles of raw and smackdown did not mark anything positive for me, the single matches were too useless. The match between Lesnar and Ricochet is not to be seen again. I didn't like Reigns and Corbin even with the steel cage. Bayley and Naomi did not live up to expectations, and ultimately what they did to Bray was unforgivable. SmackDown tag title match was really solid and match of the night for sure, topped off with a welcome title change. Garza/Humberto was alright but the crowd was dead silent, as they were for most of this show. Raw tag title was decent. Mansoor/Ziggler wasn't technically bad but they didn't click at all and there were a number of minor botches. Brock/Ricochet was the final nail in the coffin of Ricochet's WWE career. The video package was longer than the match. Roman and Corbin had a lifeless steel cage match when their feud should have ended a month prior. Women's title match was decent enough with a really creative and memorable finish. Main event was a disgrace to wrestling and the beginning of the end of Bray's career in WWE. I knew from the moment the ref hit three that Wyatt would never recover from this, and sure enough, despite another world title win, he never did. Awful show overall but I can't give it a zero because a lot of the matches weren't that bad."

[2.0] "As fun as it was seeing Undertaker (in a very oddly booked win) and as fun as Miz/Morrison vs. New Day was (match of the night in fact), Super Showdown 2020 really was a pretty disastrous event. The Trophy Gauntlet match had its moments (Truth's uphill battle) but never felt prestigious. The aforementioned SD Tag Title match was the most enjoyable match on the card, with a good and welcome result. Garza and Carillo was disappointingly tame, compared to a far superior Raw encounter. Rollins and Murphy vs. The Street Profits for the Raw Tag Titles was fine but they would have infinitely better matches together with more energy. Mansoor and Ziggler was shockingly dull (save for that cool DDT by Mansoor) and the hometown hero schtick was done one time too many. Lesnar vs. Ricochet was an insult to Ricochet's talent and considering the build, this was a slap in the face that did nobody any good. Reigns and Corbin's godawful feud continued with an uneventful cage match. Bayley vs. Naomi had historical value (first women's title match in Saudi Arabia) but was only ok and seemed to drag a lot longer than its actual duration. However, the main event was really what added the final tap to this quickly cracking card, Goldberg vs. Fiend was a complete fiasco. Nothing about it worked. What could have been a cool clash of the titans was booked as a head shaking squash that could have killed Bray's incredible (the best WWE has seen in years) character (were it not for WrestleMania 36's awesome Firefly Funhouse match weeks later), the decision to build to Goldberg/Reigns ended up not happening due to COVID rendering this result all the more pointless and Goldberg's ego speared any creative decision that could have made this interesting. Why not use Funhouse Bray even, if this is what you were doing? ! A rancid ending to one of the most problematic WWE PPV's since, well, Crown Jewel 2018."

Most of the time I enjoy the Saudi shows, they have a fun atmosphere due to a good crowd and some wacky gimmicky tournament or cup, and I always loved shit like that. This show was just an embarrassment. WWE was on a good streak of shows before this one, but shit the bed hard with this. Literally the only match above *** was New Day vs The Dirt Sheet at ***1/4 and nothing else was even close to a **3/4 rating, let alone *** or above. Also there was no good segment/promo in the whole card. Pure shit."
DanTalksRasslin wrote on 22.03.2020:
[1.0] "On the positive side, the two Tag Title matches were fine (Miz/Morrison vs New Day being especially worth looking up), but overall this one was something of a booking disaster. Goldberg vs. Fiend essentially buried one of the more popular acts in the company in favor of a part-time talent, and could have easily been avoided by simply not putting the belt on the Fiend in the first place as he never needed it. Similarly, Lesnar vs. Ricochet accomplished nothing other than making Ricochet look bad. Mansoor vs. Ziggler wasn't a bad match, but Mansoor desperately needs TV exposure outside of the Saudi specials to make his continued victories worthwhile. And the opening gauntlet match with Taker winning actually could have sort-of worked as a setup for the Taker-Styles Mania match, though Taker posing next to the Nickelodeon GUTS trophy was a rather silly payoff. Aside from matches not involving part-time talent, we also got yet another over-long chapter in the boring Reigns-Corbin feud, which hopefully is now finally over. Still not the worst of the Saudi specials - that would probably still go to Crown Jewel '18 - but there's still not a whole lot to recommend here."

In addition to being yet another event in WWE? s blood money deal with the authoritarian regime of Saudi Arabia, Super Showdown again points to a big problem with WWE today: shoving potential new stars by the wayside in favor the aging old guard. The Undertaker case is marginally forgivable, as it simply setting the possibility of a feud at Mania, be it with Styles or someone else. In the Lesnar and Goldberg matches however, the WWE decides to book a squash that pisses on any credibility Ricochet had left, and put a 53-year old man over one of the most over acts in the WWE. Absolutely sickening."

" but damn, these things that WWE puts out in recent years is just the worst. They make their every older "bad ppv" watchable when you compare them. This whole show is just boring and does not worth your time. And there is also bad booking. First of all, no one expected Ricochet to win. But why are they decided to bury him like that? That doesn't make Brock look strong, it makes Ricochet look weak. I know they could've put out a decent match, even if it's just for 8-9 minutes just like with Finn Balor. And there's The Fiend, losing the title to Goldberg. I don't know why Goldberg needed to win Universal Championship for the second time. At the first time it was good and he did his thing and leaved. But coming back and winning the same title again, as a part-timer, is just bad booking. If it's for him to feud with Roman, you don't need the title for that shit. And the way The Fiend lost the match is also makes no sense. Isn't he a darksider that kicks out of everything? Why did he lost with one jackhammer? And it wasn't even a jackhammer, it was a simple suplex because it was poorly executed. Yeah, this is just an awful show."

I can? t blame this show for being this, because its stupid, but still think what someone should protect this from internet hate machine. 8\10 because its still a special show, not a regular ppv show, and its bringing wrestling to another continent and share their global culture. That's important, and thats the goal."

The Fiend destroyed Seth and Bryan and now loses to an old man that will now main event Wrestlemania. Carillo is cold as ice. Roman grew organically, the feud with Corbin ruined his chances at growing constantly and now will face Goldberg, where the crowd will most probably boo him. Russo would book this better."
