[6.0] "First CMLL show I've watched in many years. Giving it was the first of the year maybe I expected some bigger things, specially from the main matches, so I ended up having a little bittersweet taste with the show overall, but the in-ring quality was nothing but spectacular. However, there was a huge lack of psychology, storytelling and drama in every match that prevented them from being more than just good. I find the elimination rule of the tag matches so weird without being something that adds to the story of the match. Also, first two falls of every match basically feel useless as they last just a couple of minutes and the vast majority of the match is developed in the third one. Both Apuestas matches didn't live up to what they should've been despite being good matches, but there was no drama or epicness in them. Not the best show to get invested into CMLL if you're having your first exposure to Lucha Libre, but it's a good starting point and a decent show to watch. Just needed more relevant and interesting things in it."
[7.0] "Guerrero Maya Jr. & Black Panther & Drone -vs- Tiger & Sagrado & Universo 2000 Jr. [**], Mephisto & Felino & Hechicero -vs- Rey Cometa & Audaz & Star Jr. [** 1/4], Negro Casas & Bárbaro Cavernario & Hijo del Villano III -vs- Soberano Jr. & Atlantis Jr. & Kráneo [**], Príncipe Diamante -vs- Espíritu Negro - (Mask vs Mask) [***] Low carders getting a higher position because it's a mask match. So while not very emotionally invested in the two before the match started, they did a solid job of making you care during the match and that's to their credit. Carístico & Místico (c) -vs- Cuatrero & Forastero - (CMLL Tag Title) [*** 1/4] Carístico/Místico comes across as such a star tag team! I got heavily into this, even if the flow wasn't the best. Dulce Gardenia -vs- Kawato San - (Hair vs Hair) [** 1/2] Wasn't expecting great things and was right in not getting my hopes up. Lived on the oddball feel of a corny Japanese dude against a Mexican exotico battling it out for each others hair. Not exactly Arena Mexico style main event, but it got fun considering how out of place it was. A entertaining and different kind of show to start the CMLL year."
