[6.0] "Kind of a mid-tier show. there was nothing actively terrible that stunk up the joint, but I just had trouble getting through this one for some reason. Three different sittings to get done here. Goldberg/Rock was a once-in-a-lifetime match that was solid. This was a solid show. But it wasn't much more than that."

[3.0] "I agree with nearly everyone's sentiment about this show. Boring, mid, a tough watch. I struggled to stay off my phone. Maybe I can quickly do a Duolingo lesson or do my daily Wordle. I won't miss anything. The opening tag match is decent with Los Guerreros leaving in a low rider after taking the belts. Is this the first time the low rider and Eddie appear together on WWE television? The Dudleyz vs Kane & RVD picks up in the last 5 minutes. Jazz vs Trish was okay. Highlight of the night was probably Rey vs Show and that stretcher spot. Poor Rey. Sean O'Haire vs Rikishi was meh. I did like O'Haire kicking Rikishi up the arse to reverse the stink face. The 6 man was boring, Cena vs Lesnar just seemed off and sloppy. Rock and Goldberg was pretty mid as well. The crowd is already booing Goldberg. The whole Test/Stacey/Sable/Torrie storyline is a hard watch and they have multiple segments, painful."

[5.0] "Show started out with a good opener and something about Los Guerreros just taking the titles to the lowrider and leaving with them made me laugh so hard. Really awful acting in filler backstage segments between RVD/Kane and Sable/Stacey. I hate those kind of segments anyway. Last 3 matches are good, rest of the card is fine outside of the opener. Nothing to write home about, but a solid post-WM show"

[3.0] "There was one good match on this show and it was the opening contest between Eddie/Chavo and World's Greatest Tag Team. After that it was all downhill and only got worse as the show went on. Very much felt like a filler PPV, with a lot of weird choices, like the six-man tag and the O'Haire/Rikishi match."

[4.0] "These Backlash shows haven't been anything special lately and felt like Vince was still thinking what to do for the next year. The opener was easily the best thing on the show as both teams knew how to work and Guerreros surely lead Team Angle in terms of the pacing. O'Haire's debut was meh as he was against Rikishi who was a comedy character at this point, second Tag Match was alright, even though I groaned at Dudleys being heels again and Jazz vs Trish was another typical chaotic women's match. Big Show vs Rey was short but really well structured, while not ridiculous in terms of making Mysterio competetive, Lesnar vs Cena had its moments but the neverending Headlock killed my enthusiasm, while the 6-Man Tag was fine, but the chaos that emerged near the finish got me confused who the legal men were. And then the main event was disappointing especially from The Rock, who took none of the stuff seriously and just overreacted to everything, making the whole bout and Goldberg himself feel unserious. I started with liking this new Johnson, but then he became unbearable and it was perfectly visible here. So overall nothing special, just another Backlash lackluster of a PPV."

[5.0] "This certainly isn't a bad show, but it is clearly a 'down' show made to connect the dots from one show to another. There is truly nothing on this card that really grabs you and makes you want to buy or see this show. Maybe if for some strange reason you're a big Goldberg fan, his debut would be enough to entice you, but most of the other matches are rather cold, or don't have much in the way of stakes. Nothing on this show is really above being solid, and only the aforementioned Goldberg match is bad, but that's to be expected. This isn't a show that I'd recommend anyone spend their time on, but you can do worse as well."

[5.0] "A pretty bland PPV. The Rock vs Goldberg was a huge dream match for me and unfortunately it just isn't as good as it sounded with the match running a little too long. The Guerreros vs Team Angle opener is great fun and is by a mile the best match on the show with Cena's first ever title match against Lesnar also being a pretty solid matchup. The six man tag match with the Raw main eventers is pretty good but also isn't a match that screams PPV Main Event to me. There's really isn't a whole lot here that really stands out here in my opinion with the quality of the show reflecting the uninteresting storylines going on on both Raw and SmackDown at the time."

[5.0] "Theres nothing bad here except that OHaire vs Rikishi match, but nothing really stands out as great here. Rey Mysterio vs Big Show was really short, but I thought it was executed really well actually, the post-match angle ruled. This PPV is the literal definition of average, nothing wrong with it but I would not recommend it to anyone."

[4.0] "A really disappointing show, given the hype and coming off one of the greatest Wrestlemanias of all time. There just seem to be no natural flow to anything on the show. This was actually the first wrestling DVD I owned and would only ever rewatch the WWE tag title match and the Sean O'Haire match. (Then switch back to watching an old VHS). As I get older I realise what a wasted opportunity they had with O'Haire and how things had already gone off the rails at this point."

[6.0] "Meh show. Some good matches like Rock/Berg, Guerreros/Team Angle, Rey/Show and Cena/Brock but some really bad matches too and the rest are forgettable. BEST MATCH TO WORST: Brock vs Cena - [***1/2]. Goldberg vs. The Rock [***1/2]. Guerreros vs Team Angle [***1/2]. Rey vs Big Show [***]. Six Man Tag [**1/2]. Dudleys vs Kane/RVD [**1/2]. Rikishi vs O? Haire [**1/4]. Trish vs Jazz [1/2*]."

[3.0] "Opening tag team match was pretty good and the 6 man tag was above average but the rest especially the awful main event all disappointing."

[4.0] "One of the most average PPVs I think I've ever seen. It started so well with that awesome tag team opener which I think is severely underrated, the fast pace really gets the PPV off with a solid start and the action is so slick, but then it kinda just tumbles from there. A bunch of matches that no one really cares about in Sean vs Rikishi, Jazz vs Trish and Big Show vs Mysterio is more of an angle than a match. Brock Lesnar tried to get a good match out of a still pretty green Cena but it just didn't happen. There are some redeeming qualities however aside from the great tag match, the 6 man tag drags in places but it's an okay match and the main event is undeniably a great spectacle but as a match it doesn't really hold up well. Without that tag opener, this show could probably be considered a complete failure. There's some decent action but definitely don't go out your way to see it."
