[7.0] "A SummerSlam that at first looked interesting for the TLC Match which was the interesting here, but had another point on entertainment for the love triangle of Stephanie, Triple H and Kurt Angle, the rest were matches that were amazing like Jericho vs Benoit And the lowest match here was definitely the Kane Undertaker one. 7/10"

[7.0] "Pretty good show. Not earth-shattering or anything. The TLC match was above all on the card and then you had some other good stuff like the main event, Benoit Vs. Jericho, and Blackman Vs. Shane."

[8.0] "The best stuff on this SummerSlam really fun to watch where the TLC match really stole she show as it was an amazing car crash spectacle and it's still amazing to me not only how great this match was, but all also how Edge, Christian, The Hardys and The Dudleys would still keep doing these matches and have any kind of career longevity. The main event was also amazing because of the drama with the love triangle storyline as well as Kurt Angle somehow returning to the match somehow after he got a massive concussion early on in the match. Rock and Triple H carry things really and the finish was just wonderful soap opera stuff. Shane McMahon took a huge bump in his Hardcore Title match with Steve Blackman and as you would expect Jericho and Benoit wrestle another clinc in a 2 out of 3 falls match. There was a fair bit of filler here, which thankfully is made up of mostly short matches although frankly there was no excuse for that terrible Kat vs Terri match! I enjoyed Undertaker vs Kane more than a lot of people did due to all the chaos with Kane getting unmasked, but it's not really a match."

[7.0] "A good show that takes a while to get going, but most of the negatives are fairly short. The opener and the intergender tag were both middle of the road but the crowd was into them. Shane's fall from the titantron is iconic, the first TLC is an absolute must watch, Jericho/Benoit could've used more time but still was the best match technical wrestling wise. The main event was really good specially considering Angle got legit Knocked out super early on. The story was way more focused on the love triangle than on Rock or the title so it could've been even better. Tazz being relegated to a feud with Lawler is a shame even if the match isn't terrible in a bubble. The women's "match" is one of the weakest points as usual but at least it's incredibly short. Taker and Kane have the only real let-down of the show with their brawl being very one dimensional and not even having a finish. Overall an enjoyable attitude era PPV but not an amazing show Match ratings: Right to Censor vs Too Cool and Rikishi (5/10) Road Dogg vs X Pac (4/10) Trish & Val Venis vs Eddie & Chyna (5/10) Tazz vs Lawler (4/10) Blackman vs Shane (6/10) Benoit vs Jericho (8/10) TLC (9/10) Kat vs Terri (0/10) Taker vs Kane (2/10) Rock vs Angle vs Triple H (8/10)"

[9.0] "Most of the whole undercard is awful, but Shane Vs Steve is really solid with it's memorable spots, Benoit Vs Jericho 2 out of 3 falls and Angle Vs Rock Vs Triple H are both amazing and Christian and Edge Vs Dudleys Vs Hardys in the first ever TLC match is really phenomenal. Overall WWF SummerSlam (2000) is a fantastic show."

[3.0] "This sucked. People's positive opinions of this are probably inflated by the TLC Match and since I hated that garbage there was not much for me to enjoy. The first four matches are nothing exciting and they could easily scratch them out and give a little more time to Jericho vs Benoit, which was the only enjoyable match on the show, but also the one that left you wanting more. Blackman vs Shane is a garbage match with the insane bump at the end and the TLC bullshittery is exactly what I expected from these three teams, which is an illogical spotfest with nobody even trying to climb the ladder. Stink Face Match is insulting, while Kane vs Undertaker... I don't even know if I can call that a match, since even the commentators were confused what was happening in this fiasco. And then the main event is mostly improvisation due to the fact that Kurt got knocked out, but Rocky and Hunter didn't do a good job of making it at least watchable, resulting in a constant brawling around the ring. I was hoping that at least the main event would help the overall quality of the show, but it didn't do much."

[7.0] "A really good and enjoyable show. The bad matches were not very long, so it doesn't take away from enjoying the show. Blackman v Shane, 2 out of 3 Falls and TLC were fantastic and are absolutely recommended. The main event, despite not being completely memorable, was still really good."
Derek Joists wrote on 08.12.2022:
[7.0] "A lot of bad matches here, but at least most of them were short, and all the decent length matches were good. Most of the weak matches had some storyline stuff around them which kept the crowd interested. At least it wasn't dull for the most part, and the three great matches are all worth going out of your way to see."

There was some junk filler here and there, but still plenty of meat on the bone. Kat Vs Terri was the usual brain dead quality of the Attitude Era Women's division. Still about a year and a half too early before Trish, Jazz, and Victoria resurrected the division from the ashes."

[8.0] "The highs on this show were really good: the TLC match, Shane/Blackman, Jericho/Benoit, and the triple threat for the WWF title. Undercard has some really short matches that made the PPV, but nothing offensive really. Worst thing about the whole show was the stink face match that was embarrassing and it served no purpose at least the other undercard matches did. Matches from best to worst: TLC ****3/4, Rock/Angle/HHH ****, Jericho/Benoit ****, Shane/Blackman ***1/2, Mixed Tag **1/4, Taz/Lawler**, Pac/Dogg*1/2, 6 man Tag *1/2, Taker/Kane *, Kat/Terri DUD"

[9.0] "The best PPV from WWF 2000 in my eyes. I know the undercard isn't all that good, but the undercard matches are over pretty quickly and I can laugh at stuff like Tazz vs. Lawler and especially the Stink Face Match. This PPV features fantastic moments and matches. The 4 standout matches are the WWF Hardcore Title Match, Benoit vs. Jericho, the first ever TLC match, and the WWF World Heavyweight Title Triple Threat Match. The moments that stand out for me that make this SummerSlam the second best incarnation of the event is Shane's massive bump he takes, and all the crazy spots in the TLC match. Last but not least the thing that really make this PPV for me is the fact that the Triple H / Kurt Angle / Stephanie McMahon Love Triangle hit it's boiling point here, it's a shame that it got nixed shortly after this since I believe the Love Triangle storyline is Chris Kreski's best work during his tenure as Head Writer of the WWF."

[8.0] "This show has... a LOT of bad matches. Prime example here is The Kat vs Terri (because of course it is, it's a goddamn STINKFACE MATCH), but the first half of this card is also primed with a lot of it. The opener is passable but miles behind any other tag opener from the first half of this year (*1/2), literally nobody could care about X-Pac vs Road Dogg by this point in the year and the crowd reaction for it shows (3/4*), a mixed tag for a men's singles belt is a stupid idea (how did they not learn from KOTR? ) and the match quality itself is aggressively mediocre at best (**) and Jerry Lawler going over Tazz in 2000 is a REALLY stupid idea, and frustrating to watch in all honesty. Tazz has to sell Jerry's punches but a goddamn piledriver he no sells? Okay. (3/4*) So what saves this PPV? Almost literally everything after all that is the answer. Blackman vs Shane is hugely entertaining for the most part and of course features that awesome legendary bump from the Titantron that still holds up all these years later (**1/4), Jericho/Benoit put on another mini-classic, the tag-teams steal the entire goddamn show with their phenomenal TLC showcase and the main event is classic Attitude Era style fun. Even Taker/Kane had a decent match in the semi-main with a very interesting finish (*3/4). There's a lot to hate about this Summerslam, but that just makes the great stuff on this show look that much greater."

[8.0] "A really good Summerslam, some of the matches are fillers but it's the only issue I have with this event. The TLC match is a must-see even if the idea was repeated too many times, the main event has a good The Rock vs HHH vs Angle match, Benoit vs Jericho is another enjoyable match between them. The Intercontinental Title tag team match has a surprise and Kane vs Undertaker is okay but with a terrible ending."
Zach wrote on 13.11.2016:
[5.0] "Here's the thing: this is a decent event that I lot of people rate higher due to the TLC tag title match. Well, I still prefer that ol' Terri Invitational ladder match to this. I think it was fresher and better. This is starting to feel a little stale to me already. Meh."
Dowkesy wrote on 25.07.2015:
[8.0] "A good show. Some very good matches such as the TLC, 2/3 Falls and the main event, some great spots like Shane vs Steve and some good matches like the intercontinental title match and Kane vs Undertaker, the rest of the card wasn't great but they didn't get too much time anyway so overall a good show. MVP for me couldn't just be one person it would have to be all the wrestlers involved in the TLC match which was also MOTN."
