[8.0] "As the first WrestleMania of the new millennium this show I would say it's a bit underrated, the Hardcore Battle Royal as a match isn't great but can be fun like most of the Hardcore title matches, the Tag Team ladders match a classic, the Triple Threat Benoit vs Jericho vs Angle another match that was better than I expected, and the Main Event it's long but once you catch it, it will entertain you. 8/10"

[4.0] "This show doesn't hold up at all. Barely any of the matches belong on any PPV much less Wrestlemania. The only singles match on the whole card being Terri vs Kat is a booking abomination. As far as match quality, the tag ladder match was by far the best match but those teams would have better matches later in their series. The IC/European triple threat on paper should have been great, but was only pretty good. The main event was ok but terribly overbooked. As many have said, Backlash 2000 is the show that Wrestlemania 2000 should have been."

But it oubviously lacked of single matches, some matches were too long, some were too short. I really like this one and think it's underrated, thought it could have been way better."

Let's not forget, Pete Rose's third attempt to try to get at Kane, to no avail sufficed to say. The hardcore match was chaotic, but stupidly chaotic, not funny chaotic."

CMFunk007 wrote on 06.12.2025:
[5.0] "The whole setup for this show was bound to fail. Vince thought he was the main character and that everyone wanted to see his family front and center when no one cared. Foley should have been retired and reportedly didn't even want to do this match. The triangle ladder match was the best of the show and the Angle/Benoit/Jericho match was top tier, but everything else was kind of below average of just good. WWF really botched the show of the year in 2000."
rishabh wrote on 08.11.2025:
[4.0] "Where do I even start with this PPV. WWF had such a star-studded roster at the time and had perhaps the most consistent year in terms of the quality of PPVs in 2000, but they absolutely shit the bed with their biggest show of the year. The show has 9 matches on the card, but only one singles match, which is the atrocious catfight between Terri and The Kat. There are a bunch of meaningless and weirdly booked matches that should've been on RAW or SmackDown but were on WrestleMania for some reason. The main event WWF Title match is overbooked to death, and I cannot express how much I despise the "McMahon in Every Corner" storyline. It should've just been Triple H vs. The Rock with Rock going over but they just had to make WrestleMania all about the McMahon family. The Triangle Ladder match is absolutely amazing though and saved the show from being a complete disaster. Without that, this show would've been on the level of WrestleMania 9 and 27. The two-fall triple threat is another match which is good from the show and worth watching, but please ignore rest of the event."

[4.0] "Wrestlemania 2000 is a frustrating show that comes in the midst of one of WWE's best run of PPVs. This show is just an overbooked mess with too many multi-man matches and unsatisfying finishes. The main event is the prime example of this, an overbooked mess with a flat finish. The sole highlights is the triple threat tag ladder match and the triple threat between Angle, Benoit, and Y2J. The rest of the show is pointless and reeks of getting everyone on the card syndrome. Overall, this is a disappointing Mania."
KKeanel wrote on 25.04.2025:
[7.0] "Obvious improvement after 14's mediocrity - Russo's departure was a sigh of relief. However lack of Austin and Taker impacted this card heavily and multi-person formula isn't pleasurable throught the whole duration of a show. But despite that we got an absolute three way tag team ladder classic and few decent matches."
TrailsOfPersona wrote on 10.02.2025:
[5.0] "Boy does this Wrestlemania have many ups and downs. I think the biggest downfall it has is because, since every match is a multi man match, almost the entire event ends up being extremely chaotic. It's like this Wrestlemania is on a sugar rush because there is absolutely no time to breathe and take anything in. It's constantly zooming along from one match to the next. One spot to the next spot. Now, in great matches like the ladder match and the IC/Euro title match, that makes it extremely exciting. For the other basic tag matches across the show, it makes it very sloppy and hard to focus on. I definitely think I liked this Wrestlemania more when I was younger. Not that I think it's a bad show, but the shotgun approach it takes leaves me wishing for something with a bit more substance."

[6.0] "WrestleMania 2000 has always been a show I've looked at as one of the most disappointing PPV's of all time and even though certain aspects of this show has grown on me over time, it just pales in comparison to most of the PPV events that happened that year! The Triangle Ladder Match was an outstanding match that helped three of the best tag teams in history all become major stars and became a blueprint to future TLC and Money in the Bank matches. Jeff Hardy landing the Swanton of a 20 foot ladder is the first thing I think of when it comes to this show. Angle v Benoit v Jericho was a unique triple threat match and despite the fact it could have been better, I did enjoy the main event and in the end it did build further into a very strong Triple H vs Rock rivalry that ran all year. It was a disjointed match at times though and the ending was deflating. The show is leagues better than the previous years WrestleMania largely because of how stacked the roster was at this point, but the reason why this show was disappointing was because the card was very hit and miss with four of the first five matches being really bad and the lack of a true one-on-one classic is really disappointing as well because it's a WrestleMania staple."

[2.0] "If not for the ladder match I believe this would undoubtedly be the worst Wrestlemania of all time. There were three matches that weren't painful to watch, the only of which was actually even decent was the Ladder tag team match, and even that was just okay and is extremely overrated. The main event went for 38 fuckin minutes and they gave Jericho, Benoit, and Angle less than 15 minutes for a 2 falls match. The builds were stupid, the undercard was tough to watch, and the only singles "match" on the entire card was a fucking cat fight. This is just the absolute peak of wrestling not meaning anything at all. Uninspired, boring, hacky crap."

[3.0] "The year 2000 was one of, if not, the best year in WWF/WWE history, especially in terms of PPVs, but with their biggest show of the year, WrestleMania, they really did fumbled. The WWF Tag Team Title triple threat ladder match is really phenomenal and the WWF IC and European Title triple threat is good, Chyna and Too Cool Vs Radicalz and the WWF World Title fatal four way elimination match at the main event were just mild fine at best, but so much of the undercard is just flat out awful and also there was no actual singles other than that stupid cat fight, making the whole show way too bloated with talent given that sweet WrestleMania payday. Overall WWF WrestleMania 16/2000 is a really bad show and one of the weakest WrestleManias."

[4.0] "Well at least it wasn't as bad as last year's WrestleMania. Apart from the hidden gem that is The Radicalz' match there's not much good stuff. A lot of not offensive, but also not really exciting bouts with the opener being the best example. Then Angle vs Benoit vs Jericho didn't really burn the house down and the main event was way too long with a stupid swerve. Also some really bad contests happened, especially the overrated Ladder Match that was just a mindless spotfest with nobody even trying to win the match. Hardcore Battle Royal was a cool idea, but fell flat and the botched finish didn't help, while T&A vs Head Cheese put the crowd to sleep, plus obviously some dumbass oversexualised women's match had to take place. Additionaly I feel bad that Kane & Rikishi vs DX didn't get enough time because it had a potential to be a pretty good bout. All in all not the most exciting PPV in the world, but not the worst I guess."

[5.0] "Really underwhelming Wrestlemania and, overall an average show. Considering the build up (which was quite decent to be fair), the crowd absolutely dragged the quality of it down. A lot of unnecessary and inconsequent matches. The saving grace was the triangle ladder match, that still holds up to this day. The only negative thing about the match is the crowd (again), and the fact that it seemed like most of the time the teams were not even trying to win the match, but only in doing the big spots. It wasn't a terrible show, but ends up being one of the worst PPV's of the year 2000 for the WWF (which, in general, was absolutely fantastic)."

The two tag matches that the hardcore title match (which was good for what it was, which was comedy) was between were awful, as was the women's "match" and the DX tag. The main event was solid but Rock definitely should have won (if WCW had its act together at this time that could have really hurt the WWF)/"

Another tag match thats nothing to write home about in T&A vs Snow/Blackman but a bit worse than the previous tag bout thanks to the dumb Cheese thing (4/10). The Triangle Ladder match is the best match of the night by a long shot with the three teams doing soome pretty cool spots (8/10). The Cat fight is not even a match and just there to have some fanservice (0/10) Trios tag is a decent mostly comedy bout with wrestlers that could do more than that (6/10). Triple Threat is the second best match of the show with some nice wrsetling even if the crowd only cared about Jericho (7/10) Kane and Rikishi VS DX is innofensive filler that gets an extra point for Kane killing Pete Rose again (5/10) and th Fourway Main Event is long overbooked and not that good considering the wrestlers they had working (5/10). Overall a pretty poor mania in my opinion"

A main event that's silly but potentially fun on paper but just silly and boring in execution. The tag and Eurocontinental title matches and some admittedly cool spots in the main save this from being a total write-off, but at 3+ hours, this is a chore that ends with the world's most obvious heel turn as if anyone cared."

The triple threat ladder was awesome, Euro/IC match was pretty decent and the Chyna/Too Cool vs the Radicalz was pretty fun. Production and audio was all over the place and there were some real classic WWF stuff that doesn't hold up. 3 hours with a poor first hour, few entertaining parts and a long ass main event with a really flat ending made this a pretty poor show."

[6.0] "I think this might be my favorite Mania going all the way back to Mania 8 honestly. The roster was definitely beefed up at this point with the WCW defectors and most of the mid card Attitude Era garbage was being phased out and replaced with guys who could put on good matches so we weren't subject to crappy undercards with a good main event. This show wasn't without it's problems though. The first three matches were junk and the show was saved by the Ladder Match. The cat fight match was just offensively bad and probably the high tied of the bad era for the Women's division. Kane and Riki Vs DX was crap, and the main event while pretty good, pissed off just about everybody. They should have started the show with Angle/Jerich/Benoit to get the crowd going then done the ladder match mid way with the junk filler padding the good stuff in between. Crowd was burnt out by the main event with the lopsided match booking. Still a decent show. Next years show would pretty much blow all previous Mania's out of the water."

[6.0] "To call this a one match show would be harsh, as there's a good deal of enjoyable stuff here, but the ladder match stands out and is probably the only one worth a rewatch. There's also a few matches here that belonged nowhere near a PPV, scrapping one of them and giving more time to the double title match would have made for a better show, as would shaving ten minutes off of the main event. Not a bad show, but a flawed one, unfortunately for the biggest show of the year."

Kane and X-Pac had been feuding for what seemed like forever just for them to get thrown in a tag team match that got less time then a throwaway tag match between two newly formed teams. The main event was the easiest match to book just have The Rock win the title, it seemed they were headed that way with all the momentum he had just built up on Raw and Smackdown leading into the show but instead we got a swerve in the main event for no reason. At least Rock got a post match beat down to send people home somewhat happy. Matches from best to work: Tag team ladder match ****½, 4 way elimination ***¾, Angle/Benoit/Jericho ***½, Six man tag **¾, Kane/Rikishi vs X-Pac/Dogg **, Dlo/Godfather vs Bossman/Buchanan **, Hardcore battle royal *½, T&A/Headcheese DUD, Cat fight NR"

The Triangle Ladder match is my favorite of the TLC gang's group of matches together, they really delivered on this night. As for the rest of the show... it stinks. Shout out to Kat vs Terri, Headcheese vs T&A and Bull/Bossman vs D-Lo and Godfather for really stinking up the joint. All the other matches are just okay, and the main event is about as good as any other main event from this era excluding the two great HHH Cactus matches from the Rumble and No Way Out. One thing I can praise this Mania for is its variety. I love the mix of hardcore matches, technical wrestling matches and brawl type matches. The matches themselves are questionable but the variety is not a bad thing. Most of the traditional tags on this show are garbage save for a pretty good Chyna/Too Cool vs Radicalz match. (**1/4) I wanted to really like the Eurocontinental triple threat and I was pleasantly surprised, it's not as good as it should've been because of the 2 out of 3 falls gimmick but it was still a great showcase for all three men. (***1/2) The main event is a pretty good attitude era brawl of a match, but there's two main problems. One, the length, and two, the f**kin McMahon in Every Corner nonsense that plagues the whole match. Overall, a very mixed wrestlemania but one with its fair share of highlights, main one being the incredible Triangle Ladder match, definitely worth a watch. Apart from that, I'd say check out the Triple Threat match and the main event if you're really curious as to how good of a Mania main event it is. I'm split down the middle honestly. Also the less said about the Cat Fight the better."

Not a bad event of course but really nothing special, if it wasn? t WrestleMania it could have been a monthly PPV event that nobody remember 6 months later. Non a single match involved in the card (I think this is the first time ever) and a venue not so WrestleMania caliber. The triangle ladder match between the historic three teams (Dudleyz hardyz and Edge & Christian) will be remembered forever becouse it revolutionized the ladder match concept (like Shawn and Razor did 6 years before in the first ever televised Ladder match). The Hardy Boyz are probably the greatest tag team of all times and the effort that jeff gave in this matches is unbelievable he is more than Matt associated with Attitude Era and Team Xtreme. The Main Event gave us some interesting moments, the mick Foley retirement first and the action between the two finalists The Rock and Triple H , classical Attitude style, but the end of the match and the sequence between Shane & Vince ruined the match in my opinion removing at least 2 votes at the match. It could have worked better also becouse I presume the hype for the match was really high (at eve it was predicted as the greatest WrestleMania main event ever) . To mention also the triple threat match between Angle Jericho and Benoit that in future years could have been the main event of any Mania. Great match ruined by the stipulation that didn? t gave the match the essential epic. To mention chyna that with Too Cool defeated Radicalz (eddie malenko saturn). The rest of the card is garbage Attitude Era style the most overrated period ever with tits asses as the main reason of the programs, low athletic ability and soap opera kind of storylines..."

The double match for Intercontinental and European Titles is short, the hardcore battle royal is unentertaining, but almost everything in WM2000 is okay."

The opening 3 matches were okay but not special at all but were relatively short so that was alright though I would have preferred if the Hardcore title match was only 10 mins and maybe Angle/Jericho/Benoit got more time. The tag ladder match was amazing and MOTN with some great spots and definitely deserves more than ****, I'd say ****1/2. Cat fight was bad. The next 6 man tag was pretty fun but mainly because of the radicalz however I was a bit angry to just see Chyna beating them so much but it was still okay to watch. The Benoit/Angle/Jericho match/s were great and very enjoyable, all 3 are just so talented I just wish they had more time. I'd give it ***1/2 but I just wish they had 5 more mins for each title. The fifth tag match of the night was okay but was only 4mins and didn't have anything memorable except for the segment following it. Finally the main event. Lots of people told me not the watch it and honestly I don't get it. I really enjoyed this match. Sure it was long but I was never board and they got rid of Big Show early which was great booking and following that everyone just played their role great. Mick missing the table was a bit shit and triple H improvising wasn't great and the turn at the end was obvious but besides that I enjoyed it and I would recommend it to any wrestling fan o this era. My rating ****. Overall the show was alright for a Mania but the crowd kinda sucked which is strange after watching the next PPV when they were so great. 7/10"
