[8.0] "A pretty good PPV with a great Jericho/Juvi match, the definitive Sting/Hogan match, and Rick Martel getting injured during what was shaping to be a great comeback story. Booker T gets an unexpected win while Benoit and DDP have a solid contest."

[6.0] "A couple of fantastic matches here and a little disappointing stuff in the main event, but overall I enjoyed it. They started out magnificently with Martel showing once again that he doesn't age and Booker doing a phenomenal double duty, first having a great rematch with Rick and then carrying Saturn to his best match in WCW. Then Disco vs La Parka was alright, but a little disappointing and Brad did a fine job of putting Goldberg over, while Juventud had one of his best bouts against Jericho, who was really getting over his heel stuff. Later Bulldog got barely any reaction for his short match with Mongo, but DDP and Benoit got things back on track with a great babyface vs babyface contest. And then it just didn't reach the same heights. Savage had another one of his brawls that felt the same already, Scotty turning on Rick could have been executed a little better and the main event was fine and they went with a right result, but it lacked the feeling that Hogan's and Sting's Starrcade match had. So a nice show, but main event scene this time didn't deliver."

[8.0] "It's like a sandwich but the meat has gone bad while the bread is still good. Poor Rick Martel got injured so they changed the TV title Matches immediately and worked on the spot. Disco Inferno and La Parka had a pretty good match, weird when Disco pulls out a good match. Brad Armstrong got a ppv paycheck. Chris Jericho unmasked Juvi and wow the sadness was felt. From here everything went bland, not terrible but the less quality was felt. I'm also done with Luger vs Savage feud it's gone fully bad. Scott Steiner turned heel and the audience jumped to there feet, they were honestly shoked and I agree. The main event was old school but very good and Sting has the title."

[5.0] "Just want to say, whoever was in charge of the audio tuning on the home video release years ago should have been fired! The audio was jacked up to the point where you could hear the speaker vibrating from the bass! This is another WCW that starts off good, but by the 2/3rd mark, it starts to suffer. Check out the TV title series, the US title match and the cruiserweight title match. Everything else was pretty bad."

"The usual show of two halves from this period of WCW, with the undercard being good to great but the NWO upper card being awful. There's enough good matches here to get it a decent rating, but the last three matches are skippable unless you're really invested in the NWO nonsense."

[7.0] "A PPV meant to right some wrongs, but doesn't go about it as smoothly as you'd hope or expect. [TV Title] #1 Really good, Martel was great at this point in his Career, shame about his injury. #2 followed straight after the first match and wasn't as good. It had high spots, but also some miscommunications and weird too close to the bottom rope moments, Booker-T so over in both contests and both were *** [3rd match] Decent match, the chair/finish setup spot was agonizing though. **3/4 [4th match] Squash obviously, but Goldberg had a multitude of moves at one point, as evident here. * [5th match] Some fun & wacky stuff here, such as Jericho wrestling whilst wearing the belt and deliberately trying to get counted out. Some crazy dives & spots too, especially that running jump/slam against the guardrail. False finish really hurt I felt. ***3/4 [6th match] Mongo took the lead for most of the match, which was strange. Bulldog did a running flip corner bump, which was totally random. An odd match. *3/4 [7th match] Classic match that was very competitive. You literally had no idea who was going to win until the finish. **** [8th match] Lots of walk & brawl with tons of clumsy guardrail spots, and the inevitable nWo run-in. DUD [9th match] There were definitely signs of a turn early on, which later became a reality, and left the match a handicap match. Hall really struggled lifting Rick at the finish. DUD [Main] Early signs were bad, as Hogan got ALL the offense in, until Sting made a comeback. Screwjob was teased and finish was overbooked, but right result in the end. *1/2 I don't know what was up with the audio here, but throughout the show the announcers were drowned out by the entrances, very strange."

[8.0] "Feels like good PPVs from the two major promotions (WWF/WCW) were few and far between during this period, but this one certainly lived up to expectations. Sure, there were some huge duds like Goldberg's match and Mongo v Bulldog, and La Parka v Disco Inferno wasn't exactly a thriller, but the two first matches were brilliant. The match for the tag team title was really just about storytelling, as Scott finally revealed the switch to the nWo by betraying Rick, and the main event was exactly what I guess everyone would expect, 100% about telling a story. Hogan's old and shouldn't be in the ring, Sting is rather unimaginative, but the story gets told and the crowd loves it. Solid PPV!"

[9.0] "Wow, this was an unexpected return to form and easily the best WCW event in 6 months, maybe more. The undercard was packed and while not every match was really good, none were bad and almost all were enjoyable. The main event is arguably the lone exception but you kind of know what you're getting with Hollywood, and I will say they definitely had a better showing than the lame and botched Starrcade encounter. Best matches were Jericho/Juventud, DDP/Benoit and, my personal favorite, the Booker T marathon that started the show. I thought Martel in particular put on a fantastic bout with Booker, and it's a damn shame his comeback was stopped so soon. Scott Steiner's turn was also perfectly done and gave some new life into the nWo, which was becoming stale over the last few months. This is great, one to check out for sure."

[2.0] "This event didn't click for me. There are a lot of good match-ups on paper, but in execution it didn't really translate for me. Even the highly-rated Jericho vs. Guerrera and DDP vs. Benoit matches missed the mark for me."
