[3.0] "This UK-based promotion arrived with genuine buzz, initially positioning itself as something bigger and bolder than the average domestic indie. Early shows were stacked with overseas names, often at the expense of homegrown talent, which created a short-term spectacle but undermined long-term identity. From the outset, it never quite felt like a promotion that knew what it was supposed to be. For a time, the company leaned heavily into gratuitous violence, flirting with the idea of becoming a "British ECW." That approach was eventually abandoned, only to be replaced by a series of half-measures and tonal shifts that never fully cohered. Each reinvention felt reactive rather than purposeful, and with every pivot, momentum bled away. Venue downgrades, relocation of operations, and inconsistent presentation followed, all signalling a promotion struggling to stabilize. Production issues became another persistent stain. The DVDs were notoriously poorly edited and amateurish, bafflingly bad for a company that somehow secured shelf space in a major retail chain. Instead of serving as a calling card, these releases actively damaged the promotion's credibility. In its final incarnation, the shows were at least watchable, and the presence of established drawing talent gave the illusion of a rebound. But beneath the surface, nothing meaningfully separated this version from countless mid-tier UK indies. Worse, the same structural problems resurfaced: broken promises, mishandled talent, and fans once again left feeling burned. Rather than learning from past failures, the promotion repeated them almost beat for beat. With the promotion folding yet again, the unavoidable question is: what was any of it for? In hindsight, the answer is unflattering. Whatever goodwill existed has long since been exhausted, replaced by a reputation for unreliability that overshadows any isolated successes."

[0.0] "This promotion can get a 0 because the owner is a scumbag stealing money from fans not paying the talent the relaunch was actually going well but then for the second time he got caught being a scumbag so yeah never let Steven Gauntley own a wrestling promotion. I attened 3 shows from the relaunch it was headed in a good direction but Steven had throw it all away such a stupid choice the talent they had for the relaunch was a good mix of international and local talent the champions that they had was the right choice not sad that 1pw is dead far better shows out there"

[5.0] "1PW was basically 5SW, but with slightly better management and better events, the money laundering was still there, but at least there was some entertainment value. It was shortly revived in 2023, hosting 3 shows that were actually pretty good before again, becoming defunct, as typical for 1PW."

[0.0] "Do you like promotions that steal your money, don't pay talent and do a runner when everything starts to catch up with them? If so then 1PW is the company for you. I am sure they will reappear at some point and if you decide to give them your money any time before 5 minutes until belltime then you need your head wobbled. Even if they do run, you can expect the workers to put no more than 60% effort in."

[2.0] "UK based promotion that started off with quite a bang, attracting a lot of overseas talent, that more often than not went over a lot of the homegrown stars. It always felt like this promotion lacked a true identity, putting on quite gory contests for a while, attempting to be the British ECW, before dropping the idea and trying something else. The promotion lost a lot of momentum along the way, and moved it's base of operations elsewhere, as well as downsizing it's venues, before closing for good. They also managed to produce some of the most badly produced & edited DVDs I've ever personally viewed, that somehow managed to get picked up by, and sold in a major media store. [Edit] So after 1PW has folded yet again, what was it all for? Yes their newest shows were at least watchable and had big drawing talent on them, although they still didn't have much to tell them apart from any number of mid-tier UK indy promotions. And yet again it seems mistakes from the past carried over to this installment of 1PW, with talent and fans being screwed over yet again. Changing my rating from a 6 to a 2 as this promotion is one of the most untrustworthy promotions ever. Please 1PW... don't come back!"
