[3.0] "One of my least favorite wrestling games ever. The action is so stiff and just not fun to play. The menu selection videos are the best part of the game by far."

[1.0] "Not a good time at all, if I'm to be honest. It doesn't control any better on the Nintendo 64, if anything, it's slightly worse than the PlayStation version. Rest assured; the gameplay doesn't make up for it. Repetitive and stale within only a couple of matches. Everybody does the same things. By that, I mean the same base movesets. Finishers are at least unique, but 90% of the time you're playing it's just the same thing. Looks quite bad as well, even for the time. It's not even a port of Nitro, either. It's Thunder, with 50% of the playable characters. Avoid."

[0.0] "The worst wrestling game I've had the displeasure of playing. This is an updated re-release of the original WCW Nitro that came out in 1997 on the PlayStation, and it's f**king terrible. Similar to Acclaim WWF titles, you have to perform button combos to perform moves and it seems much worse here. That type of gameplay didn't quite work in those games, but yet they somehow made it worse here. Attempting to pull off stuff can be a process as the game won't register any input sometimes, which make having matches a pain in the ass. The graphics are awful, even by the standards of the fifth-generation. The roster is pretty strong with everyone you would expect from that time, but the developers thought it would've been funny to add joke characters like cows and aliens. I don't even know why THQ and Inland Productions even bothered with this bullocks in the first place. An abysmal piece of software that should never be touched."

[4.0] "Nitro had one of the most impressive rosters at the time. Getting so many wrestlers to fit in one game and graphics where decent too. The thing about nitro is... it's just not fun to play. Other WCW titles had also massive rosters but where more playable. You can find Mayhem for about the same price on ebay and I promise you'll have better time playing that."

"Holy.. Fucking... Shit! This game is literally, 100% controversial, pathetic, & obsolete. If THIS, is your favorite WCW game, I am pretty convinced you have either mental issues, PTSD, or a combination of the two. As of writing this comment, The year is 2023, There have been a plethora of other wrestling game titles that completely knock WCW Nitro out of the fucking water. Hands down, Obvious picks like No Mercy & HCTP, hell MDickie has developed weird oddball wrestling games that supersede anything that WCW Nitro could've ever dreamed of. Hindsight, the year was 1998... but now its 2023. This game is not old school, it's simply dead, just like Inland Productions. Fun fact, This game was developed by criminals. This is not an attack towards the now defunct company, This is simply the truth. The developers at Inland Productions were making games on Computers that had been stolen from other production companies. This pretty much explains the reputation this game & Inland Productions have, WCW NItro was a slap in the face to the WCW license, Inland Productions were about as credible as a theft (they really were thieves), & as a prerequisite, If YOU, enjoy, like, and/or admire this video game in any way, shape, or form, You are potentially a Criminal, Theft, Drug Abuser, and/or a complete Sociopath. Doing my research for this game, there is nothing in this world that could not convince me that WCW Nitro, the video game, was created by corrupt, creepy, fucked up people. Overall Score: Nothing... Giving this game a 0/10 is being too kind & sweet. There is nothing in WCW Nitro. I'm serious. Move on, & play better video games from a real developer like AKI, Yuke's, Spike, Etc. Come to think about it, ECW Hardcore Revolution & Anarchy Rulz was MUCH, MUCH, MUCHH! Better than WCW Nitro on any system. Now THAT, says something."

[10.0] "I had this game for PC and PlayStation 1. This review is for the PC version. And it was awesome back in 1998. Most wrestling fans these days express themselves very rudely about the THQ wrestling game WCW Nitro or its sequel WCW/NWO Thunder. These games were the first to actually offer a real show feeling. I still enjoy playing these games today. Not just because of the rants, just because it's a lot of fun to see the animations unlocking the hidden wrestlers. Or to hear the NWO or Nitro Theme in the menu. It is always a pleasure to be greeted by Gene Okerlund at WCW Nitro! xD A classic for me. In contrast to the PlayStation 1 version, the N64 or PC version also had a Battle Royal mode and a full WCW roster with all jobbers such as Mike Enos, Kaz Hayashi, Ron Reis, Juventud Guerrera etc. Even to addition to the original PlayStation 1 version, Goldberg was in, Bret Hart, the nWo Wolfpac, Raven etc. WCW Nitro is definitely a classic that is (unfourantlatey) very controversial. Some hate it, others love it. For most of them it is because of controls. But honestly, Tekken or Mortal Kombat also works with the button combinations and nobody gets upset. And the fact that WCW Nitro is the only game that has a accurat and decent Crow Sting and Wolfpac Sting model says it all. Because the graphics are still unsurpassed for the old wrestling classics for me. No WCW game looks better than WCW Nitro on the PC. All models of wrestlers look extremely accurate and clean. The wrestling models have been accurately scanned and have photo-realistic faces. And the WCW games from AKI didn't have that back then. The only downside for me is that most bonus wrestlers do not have a complete moveset, and most moves repeat themselves. But then I have to say that the game is from 1998, and that the quality was very good for its age and is also retro-technical. Well worth 10 points for me."

[10.0] "I remember when was in a computer store in late 1999 when I saw a PC box of WCW Nitro with Goldberg(! ), Hogan and Nash on it. On the back cover was also Bret Hart and Wolfpac Sting. I bought the game right away and couldn't wait to try out new wrestlers like Goldberg, Bret Hart and Raven. Even the rants have been redesigned. Awesome work was done at that time. Back then it was worth the wait as a PC player. Half a year later and even the roster was completely revised. My compliments, THQ. Even the nWo Wolfpac faction was respected. But I still remember that unfortunately not all new wrestlers got new moves. Roddy Piper had a Crippler Crossface as a finisher. Well, at the time I wasn't interested, the main thing was that I could take it. But this classic still gets 10 points from me, even if not all moves by the bonus wrestlers were accurate. The only complain for me is that the funny bonus wrestlers like Santa Claus or Bear of the ps1 version have also been deleted without replacement. Still remember how many lan parties I had with friends with this game. My alltime favorite rant from WCW NItro PC is the one of Raven: "Pick me, pick somebody else, do whatever you want. Quote the Raven, nevermore. ""

[9.0] "I still have the N64 version of Nitro. The N64 version had a updated roster with more WCW wrestlers from 1998 and a new battle royal mode. The funny secret wrestlers like Santa or bears were unfortunately removed. But it was a nice update to the playstation 1 original. I just loved this game as much as the original on the playstation. But the n64 version lacked the rants. I know the pc version has these updated newer rants, but I never had the pc version. I played this back in day with my friends after school everyday and we had so much fun with it. I still remember how we found out new button combinations of finishing moves and my pal found out how to make the chokeslam of The Giant. Man these were the days without internet. I just loved how every jobber, even jobbers like Mike Enos, Reese or Kaz Hayashi were in this game. :D btw: I just bought on ebay the PC version + strategy guide for PC & N64. Man this it fully worthed. I am just happy to see the rants on the PC version. :D Brutally underrated classic, no doubt! It's just true that people hated this game for controls, that were easily to handle if you just want it! Believe me, if you understand this game, read the manual of the game and you know from all wrestlers the moves, this game WAS and if you still a WCW/nWo mark and you like retro games like me, it's STILL a blast to play! Only things i think this game had needed were a training mode (to learn the moves), title matches (WCW World Heavyweight Belt, US-Heavyweight, Tag-Team etc. ) and a season mode. Man than than this game deserved EASILY 10 points!"
