[5.0] "They could have been one of the best factions in TNA history. I thought the Bully Ray reveal was top notch, and we got a few other really awesome moments such as Sabin briefly winning the title. They had a great name, logo, and theme song. Unfortunately, a lot of the members were quite frankly... mid. They needed a few young stars that could be elevated from their time here (imagine if someone like Jason Hotch was around back then? )."

The segments being all cinematic was like prototype Lucha Underground which made it feel so different unique. But then when the unmaskings started, it only made it feel less big and important. And then this was followed by the reveal of Bully Ray as the president, which was a super well done angle and reveal. But then after that the group began to loose steam. It could have been so cool and epic, but it was full of potential that quickly got ruined."

This started out being so exciting with all the members coving their faces and hiding their identities to be discovered gradually. Very cool, it was obvious Bully Ray was the leader buts till popped hard for it when it was revealed."

[8.0] "I really want to like this stable as it is very much a highlight in the tail end of TNA being relevant until very recently, so im gonna double down here and say i actually really like A88A. sure it's a complete ripoff of the very popular show at the time, sons of anarchy; sure, its cast can be arguably to be very much the worst line up of all time when you combine Wes Briscoe, Garett Bischoff, Knux, and Gallus; sure, it completely fizzled out at the end when an unsastifying blow off. It is still important to recognize some of the upsides of this stable. Bully Ray, despite him as a person, was one of the best TNA champions as the leader of Aces and Eights. Great mic work really stringed the whole group together and produce some great angles and moments, such as the Taz "is it hot in here", Brooke Hogan being Brooke Hogan, the "my balls Taz", and the legendary tito ortiz's bold head. This was a center point of TNA, and compare to 10-10-10 and immortal, compare to GFW, this is miles above that."

[4.0] "This stable had a lot of potential in 2012, but the unmaskings and reveals in late 2012 and early 2013 which were Doc, Knux, Wes Brisco, Garett Bischoff, D'Lo Brown, and D'Von, as well as Tazz as their heel announcer, killed momentum until Bully won the title, and then there were numerous lineup changes and an unnecessary short title reign from Chris Sabin in between Bully's two title reigns. The potential in the summer of 2012 and Bully's mic work as the heel champ leader carry them to a 4, as the lineup outside of Bully was atrocious and the booking of the group was really bad."

[3.0] "The idea of Aces and Eights was good and it was a really hot angle for TNA. Unfortunately the faction didn't have a lasting impact both as a group and individually. Bully won the World Championship but other than that, nothing big came off such a huge angle, everyone in Aces and Eights got burried after the team disbanded and other than Bully, Gallows, DVon, none of them quite fit the group nor did they benefit a lot from it especially the younger talents. Another big issue I have is that the talent of the group wasn't that great."

The longer it went on the more it lost momentum. Wish they had found better members to go along with Gallows and Team 3D. Bully Ray being revealed as the leader was the last good moment the stable had before it's collapse and disbandment."

[4.0] "Actually was quite a hot angle for TNA at the time. I for one was caught up in it, and was looking forward to the next unmasking. Although, certain things about this gimmick didn't make a lot of sense - like allowing these ultra-violent bikers into your company to kidnap & beat up your talent with hammers. The payoff ultimately was pretty lame; Bully Ray trying to justify his months of teaming against & beating up his comrades, pathetic crew members (Bischoff & Brisco especially), the MMA guys, and even the faction feud against MEM were pretty weak. Best parts I guess were the infighting, and Bully Ray getting over as quite a worthy World Champion."

[4.0] "Aces and Eights has a lot of highs, but a lot of lows. Their first few months were great, but it went downhill when the members were revealed, and none of them had any name value in 2012/13. But it took a huge upswing when Bully Ray was revealed as the leader and won the world title. But then it became awful again until it's demise in late 2013. Oh, also Tito Ortiz happened, which was stupid and no one knew who he was."

[1.0] "A top reason why TNA completely fell off a cliff during this time period. People (including me) were tuning out of TNA at this time & the overbearing nature of this failure group was a big reason for that. From the Main Event Mafia, to Immortal, to Fortune... it always felt like Dixie was going to find her version of the NWO or was going to kill TNA trying. Unfortunately, it ended up being the latter."
The Chosen One wrote on 09.06.2016:
[3.0] "This stable was just a mess. It started off fine like it was a NWO 2. 0 but like most stables with this many wrestlers it got crappy really quickly. In my opinion they never had any good matches or promos or anything. Most of the members were horrible and generic as well. Overall I would rate them a 3/10."
DanTalksRasslin wrote on 15.04.2015:
[5.0] "The group had a lot of potential to be a memorable stable, but lost too many big matches in the early going to really be perceived as a serious threat. Some of the members' reveals worked well, including the separate reveals of Devon and, as leader, Bully Ray; some were underwhelming, as with Garett Bischoff, and some were just puzzling, as with Tito Ortiz. It seemed that DOC was going to be the group's breakout star, but left the company before anything could come of it (although it perhaps helped propel him to his current success in New Japan). Not a bad idea for a stable, but the awful booking ultimately sunk it."

[2.0] "Horribly booked, every debut felt like let down after let down. D-Lo Brown was a pointless member. Wes Brisco and Garrett Bischoff were lame reveals. DOC stood a chance to breaking out in or out of the group but TNA didn't really seem to know what to do with him, and less can even be said for Knux who probably didn't need brought in at all. Anderson had his moments and Bully Ray was great. Taz stunk up the commentary position even more and actually seemed to no longer be trying at his job. And nothing can do just how terrible this TNA run for Tito Ortiz was, god awful stuff that definitely helped drive away even more of their audience and helped dig TNA's death bed."

[0.0] "Aces & Eights have always been awful. The concept was not original, nothing they did in their run was original, none of their matches were memorable, and they honestly killed Impact Wrestling dead. Bully Ray's involvement made them slightly tolerable, but the fact that their break-up teasing was more entertaining than anything else they ever did speaks in volumes. Aces & Eights were one of the worst things to ever happen to wrestling."
HammertonWay wrote on 24.11.2013:
[6.0] "Aces and Eights were an interesting concept, which had some good parts and some bad parts. What was good about them was that they pushed wrestlers that you wouldn't of pictured into the limelight, giving them a chance to show what they were made of. Bully Ray became one of the best heels of the year, and show me that he deserved a world title run. What was bad was that other than Bully Ray, Devon & Mr Anderson, everyone else weren't really all that special. The were decent wrestlers at best, but all they were really were just lackeys. The inclusion of Tito Ortiz was the worst, as he added nothing to the faction. In the end, Aces and Eight were never going to be anything special, but they had enough good moments to become appealing."

Finally Aces and Eights has come around full circle, and feels like a legitimate threat. What made the group so much better though, was just one small series of videos with Bully Ray explaining the Aces and Eights, along with their whole plan, and why they did what they did. It Made the group seem like more than just a group of thugs. Instead, Aces and Eights seemed like an intelligent unit"
