[9.0] "Legendary tag team. Cornette was the perfect mouthpiece for these two and they had the in-ring action taken care of. They had great matches with the best of their era like the Road Warriors, Fantastics and Rock n Roll Express."
[10.0] "Either incarnation of Cornette's Midnight Express is an all-time great team, and they both were pretty much perfect for their era, Dennis and Bobby was the perfect heel tag team for the final few years of the territory era, and Bobby and Stan were the perfect team for the emergence of Pay Per View and the late 80's expansion of Crockett Promotions/WCW. Bobby and Stan have more matches that current year fans would like to seek out, more flashy high-intensity five star classics, but they also had the smaller stuff on lock also. Working angles, beating up jobbers, cutting promos, and keeping a feud alive and hot are all things this team could do expertly, random tv segments featuring these guys are just as worth seeking out as their greatest in-ring bouts."
[10.0] "The best tag team in America during the late 80s, Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane, accompanied by their manager Jim Cornette, were amazing heels. Complete in the ring and in terms of roles you could give them, they were a fixture of the NWA, the team that gave your favorite team of that era their best matches. 3x NWA United States Tag Team Champions and former NWA World Tag Team Champions, their influence goes beyond the gold they wore. They set the standards that the teams in the future would try to reach and surpass. And for helping to inspire future generations of wrestlers, along with the other elements mentioned above, they deserve a 10."
[8.0] "Man, were these guys fun. They really got fans invested in the US titles and their matches combined with Cornette's antics were superb. That said, they were only the US titles. They were never strong enough to get a signature run with the big belts. On balance, they were superb upper mid card performers, who became top tier jobbers whenever they ventured into a co main event. Still, that entrance music...."
[10.0] "This version of the Midnight Express is without question in my top 3 tag teams of all time. Extremely watchable; you need to see the squash matches while Cornette gives running commentary, you need to see EVERY Pay per view/Clash of the Champions match. You absolutely MUST watch the entire career of this tandem, silky smooth and the best match on the card every time. Ridiculous chemistry and work ethic. Unmatched forevermore....I even like the WWE Network theme dub, I know that seems like blasphemy, but this team makes anything and everything in life WAY better. I wish I could give this team a score of 600, 000. Mandatory viewing."
[10.0] "Best tag team of all time as far as I'm concerned, especially if we're combining the Condrey-Eaton version. They could be the best stooges in wrestling one minute, then be downright brutal working heat segments the next. So smooth in their movements and transitioning by even today's standards. Perfected tag wrestling on a TV format. Gave so many teams in the 80s arguably their best match (Rock n Roll Express, Fantastics, Steiners, Road Warriors, Southern Boys, along with plenty of makeshift pairings). Has the greatest tag wrestler of all time: Bobby Eaton, as well as the one of the greatest managers in wrestling history in Jim Cornette."
[10.0] "Legitimate GOAT contenders as far as tag team wrestling is concerned. Remarkably complete in the ring, fantastic in terms of story development, and downright vicious when the time called for it. The Midnight Express were not only one of the best tag teams of all-time, but one of the most influential. We all talk about Arn and Tully, but teams like FTR and reDRagon were clearly influenced by Eaton and Lane."
[10.0] "The best and most widely recognizable version of The Midnight Express. Eaton & Lane were definitely one of the best tag teams of all time. An excellent heel team who know how to gain heat under any circumstances. Also had tons of classic over the years, along with the brilliant Jim Cornette."
[10.0] "By far one of the greatest tag teams of all time, no matter who the duo consisted of, TME was always at the pinnacle of the tag team division. Loved them, especially having Cornette as a manager was gold and genius."
[9.0] "Where the strength of Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey was getting heat and drawing money, the strength of Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane was in having great matches and getting decent matches out of some terrible tag teams."
[10.0] "An absolutely fantastic team, maybe one of the best of all time. The chemistry these guys have is crazy, Eaton in particular is a revelation in this team. With Cornette managing on the outside, they are even better. So many classic matches. This team is legend, and for very good reason."
