They were initially thrown together as a standard random veteran/recent young lion grad tandem that NJPW likes to do during most big tag team tournaments, but this was one of those times where it turns out the partners really meshed well and had excellent chemistry, so they continued teaming, and 3 year later have become one of the top tag teams in both New Japan and the North American indie scene. KUSHIDA is just beginning to show signs of his age catching up to him, but that doesn't stop him from keeping up with Knight, who is just beginning to show signs of hitting that next level of pro wrestler. Again, just a masterful pairing of two pro wrestlers here and I'm always excited to see these two on a card."
