Fully devoted to the spectacle, he was an absolutely great brawler and seller, who also bled a lot and whose facial expressions would tell stories by themselves. Beloved all around Mexico, he wrestled with the best of the best that Lucha Libre ever produced, from El Santo & Mil Máscaras, to Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero, as well as having plenty of runs in Japan, in which he would keep up well with the likes of Satoru Sayama & Tatsumi Fujinami, even having awesome chemistry with Gran Hamada in a rivalry that they carried around NJPW, UWF and even mexican promotions. The actual inaugural WWF Light Heavyweight Champion. Participant in many legendary Apuestas matches in AAA and EMLL/CMLL against Konnan, Máscara Año 2000 & Sangre Chicana (among others). Wrestled in El Santo's retirement match (you can watch it on YT, it's also on the matchguide already). In the end, it's possible to conclude that Pedro "Perro" Aguayo Damián is an absolute Lucha Libre legend. |

Perro Aguayo may not have been as technically amazing as Karloff Lagarde but I'll be damned if he didn't give Santo a workover when the two met. Their lucha de apuesta in October 1975 was a particularly bloody and brutal affair which forced Santo to go back to his rudo roots and had the public literally on the edge of their seats. He went on to have another very good and almost as bloody rivalry with the great Fishman himself and later on he was the one chosen to unmask Konnan before the Cuban wrestler got his AAA megapush. His final rivalry was with Los Hermanos Dinamita, another brutal affair, albeit nowhere near as bloody, but it was also one of the last feuds in which an injury angle was booked really well: as Perro Aguayo had to take time off to undergo neck surgery, in a "no DQ" lucha de apuesta Universo 2000 laid him flat with a particularly nasty-looking Martillo Negro: the match ended with el asesino del ring shaving the "unconscious" Perro bald while he was strapped to a stretcher. Coupled with "leaked" pictures of Perro Aguayo in the hospital after his scheduled surgery Universo 2000 looked like the most evil wrestler alive. Great character and great wrestler. |

Als Brawler gehörte er definitiv zu den Besten, er entfachte im Ring eine gewaltige Energie, die einem Bruiser Brody ähnlich kommt, wen man ihn sieht, weiß man einfach, dass es sich um einen Fight und nicht nur ein "Match" handelt. |
