Her stable Queen Quest got dissolved with her as the sole member after everyone was forced to leave and then, she turned heel and joined HATE which was the best creative decision that Stardom could have made. She elevated herself as the Dark Phoenix, won the World Of Stardom Championship and then, cemented plus elevated Stardom as the top Joshi and Women's Promotion in the World. First women to win the Tokyo MVP and deservedly so. Her first run has been a thrill to watch, the Career vs Career match against Tam made her a top star in Stardom beyond all her peers. Looking forward to what's gonna happen."

[10.0] "Saya Kamitani is the perfect example of what a great heel turn can do for your career: going from being a good high flyer (quasi Ibushi-esque in certain moves) with a struggling "millennial" babyface persona, to an ultra-charismatic, aura reeking villain that made her become the greatest joshi wrestler since the good 'ol Zenjo days. She is capable of making every match look good to awesome, like the ASGQ bout with Tam Nakano which is my 2025 MOTY, or the recent Osaka SLK match. [10.0] "From really fun but mostly bland babyface to the true top heel in Joshi wrestling. Not just Stardom, Saya is the best top heel in all of Japanese wrestling at the moment. The look, the presence, the psychology, the in-ring work, the character work, the moveset, etc. She isn't always perfect, she isn't Ospreay or Omega levels of flawless in ring, but when it all goes right for her in a match, there is very few better than her in the world. If I made this rating a year ago when her heel turn was still new, it wouldn't be a 10. If I made it even at the height of her face run, it would've been an 8 at best. Her heel turn has matured her in ring style and character work so rapidly that its hard to see her not keep ascending. Does she cry too often? Maybe. Does she overdo false finishes in big matches? Yeah, but that's the beauty of wrestling sometimes and it always serves a purpose. Her few flaws as a wrestler and performer are worked into her character work and long term in ring storytelling. Her current run with the Red Belt is the best world title run of this year. She has simply reached another level and she is willing to leave everything in that ring. Its hard to measure things like aura and style objectively, but when that opening line hits, 'Golden Phoenix is, DEAD" followed by the pause to the reveal... That is her. She is the main event, that is the final boss of Stardom. The fact she can get people invested into a story and character solely by how she comes to the ring is a mark of a truly exceptional character. And she has all the talent to back it up in ring. We are witnessing the start of an all-time great wrestling run."

Yes, I did not understand her healer, but with each match she increased the interest in her character. Well, the plot line with Tam is her finest creation. The perfect ending to Queendom and Tam's career. I wonder how far her current reign will go, but at the moment she is one of the most interesting characters in wrestling at the moment"

[10.0] ""One of many STARDOM's super rookie & she deserves that title. She has less than a year of experience & she's already better than 3/4 of WWE Women's Roster. She has a good SSP, she's pretty good all-round. If we can give her time, she'll be one of STARDOM brightest stars in the upcoming years." I wrote this on 28.05.2020 and gave her an 8 out of 10. Fast forward 5 years later, she's a straight 10, no questions asked. She's simply one of the best in the world. While I admit after winning the Wonder of STARDOM title, she started getting stale as a character, her in-ring ability sky-rocked at that point. Her last few months as a Queen's Quest member were great, with compelling storylines, she really found herself in H.A.T.E. While a lot of people were trashing on this decision of disbanning both Oedo Tai & Queen's Quest, for creating H.A.T.E, with Saya being the catalyst, I thought it was going to be interesting to see Saya as a heel, because she's such a lovable person that pulling the trigger on a decision like this, is only hit or miss, just like with Starlight Kid years earlier. But now, she's even better, with a real character & reasons to play it. She's very comitted & so charismatic while playing it, it's amazing. As i'm writing these lines, we don't know the outcome of her Loser Leaves STARDOM Match, but after becoming a Triple Crown Winner in STARDOM, she's on the verge of doing the most heelish thing possible, retiring STARDOM's Top Babyface Tam Nakano, in a few days. She's really on the run of a lifetime, and we are really lucky to be a part of it."

[10.0] "the greatest babyface of all time. thats it. thats all. go watch her pour her soul into her matches. i dont think i'll ever love a wrestler more. Some of her matches are some of the best I've ever seen: Saya vs Tam, Saya vs Hazuki, Saya vs Utami are all top 20 all time for me. She excels at telling stories in singular matches, and she's proven she can tell long-term stories with her program with Utami last year. Simply the best! (Update circa February 2025: HOLY SHIT SHES AN AWESOME HEEL AS WELL, and she's arguably doing the best character and in-ring work of her career right now. One of my favourites ever for sure! )"

[8.0] "09.07.2021[4.0]: Unfortunately, Saya became a hostage to the style that was prepared for her. She does not do well with elements of acrobatics, and she was credited with a style similar to Io Shirai. She should, as it were, increase her hariography, her abilities, but unfortunately this does not suit her. I understand everyone is wrong, all wrestlers do botches, but Saya does it almost on a regular basis, which makes her some kind of botch machine. I think that with her it is possible to make a separate issue of Botchmania for its short edge. And sometimes she makes mistakes on basic things. Giant Baba: "Don't try to do 4 or 5 without completing basic 1, 2, 3. " This quote perfectly illustrates the problem of Saya, which, without having learned the basics, moved on to acrobatics. Compare flick flack Saya and Shirai. Absolutely different level. The problem is that Saya appeared in the ring quite recently, and they shove her very far and put very high hopes on her, but it seems to me that it? s time to understand that this is not so. She needs to learn, learn and learn again, or change her style. Oh yeah, I also don't like her attire, but that's my personal preference, lol. upd. 29.11.2024[8.0]: It's amazing how things work out. Saya began to change and started to change for the better with each passing month. Her new character is getting everyone's attention and I admit mine too. Social media, the numbers don't lie. There are a lot of likes, which shows that people are interested in her, which was not the case before. She's got charisma, which is no less important. It happens a lot when pro wrestlers change their role, especially to a negative one. Here, Saya is not completely villainous, but she is not a heroine either. That's clearly one of her strengths, she's not a heel. The important part was that she changed her mooveset. It's related to her injuries. I've always written that Saya shouldn't be a high flyer, because she does everything on the limit, performs techniques in such a way that it's not enough to get seriously injured. This forced her to change her finisher, and clearly went in her favor. She started to look more confident, and more legitimate in my eyes. I wish her continued development because if things go the way they are now, she has the potential to be one of the best!"

"My favourite current wrestler, amazing at conveying emotion and getting you on her side even if you've never seen her before. Hopefully going to win the World title by the end of the year, which I'm personally looking forward to after her 5star run got thwarted by injury in 2023."

[7.0] "Just to preface this and any other reviews I do. None of this means anything, I just enjoy writing and Ive found this is a fantastic outlet for it whilst also talking about something I genuinely love. My ratings are just my stupid little opinions and I don't know anything but I appreciate anyone who reads them! Thanks! At the time I'm writing this Saya is in a bit of a strange period, alot of what I presume to be herself and Utami's plans were ruined by the unfortunate timing of injuries in the Five Star Grand Prix as well as Rossy's backstage games. Now Kamitani stands having to be the de facto leader of Queens Quest after Utami left the company some odd weeks ago. Or, at least that's how I see it. And in the short while, it seemed as though Saya had no place on the All Star Grand Queendom card until just about a week before the event as she was added into a High Speed Title bout. A bout that she ended up winning which I believe could honestly suit her so long as they give her the chance to showcase her abilities in line with the title's typical matches. However, I don't want to just speak on her modern stuff. Going back just a year or so Saya was at the tail end of a quite long Wonder Of Stardom reign which honestly I wasn't much a fan of apart from her defenses against Mina Shirakawa and Hazuki. Other than those it felt to me a bit as though the matches were strangely long, especially with someone with the amount of experience that Saya had at that time. She's fantastic and I really do enjoy her offense but in my eyes, she didn't have enough to go to a time-limit draw with KAIRI, which just made the match feel drawn out and sort of empty when I watched it live. That being said the aforementioned Hazuki match was amazing and felt like the near-perfect pace for both women. Though I do think Hazuki winning that night would've been fantastic, I understand that they wanted to hold off and give Mina the eventual victory over Saya. As well as that near 500-day White Belt run, there were also 2 different Goddesses Of Stardom runs with Utami that were very enjoyable yet it didn't feel like either got the sort of spotlight they deserved due to differing factors both times. Another thing I wanted to write about was her challenging Utami during her World Of Stardom Title run. That match was fantastic and it felt like the perfect role for Saya in my eyes. And while I think we're probably past that now, I'd still love to see it again! This all being said, Saya Kamitani right now is doing the best she can with a messy situation and has done amazing, and honestly, I think has done the best she could with the strange situation!"

[9.0] "Saya Kamitani has had her ups and downs. She is a very ambitious wrestler in terms of willingness to try great feats of athleticism. When she gets them right they become sensational moves when she gets them wrong, they can become dangerous to both herself and her opponent. In recent years she has finetuned her move-set to only incorporate the things she does really well. And the Phoenix Splash botch actually became the catalyst for one of the best stories in Stardom in recent years. Her clumsiness, recklessness nature actually suits her character really well. Her big matches are some of the best in Stardom history and her Wonder reign was amazing. One of my favourite wrestlers in the company."

[10.0] "One of the most talent wrestler in the world, saya kamitani is very special and deserve high rate 100% she improved many time why stardom push her in the top. Saya Kamitani can be the best wrestler in the world in few years. Nodoby denied the fact of she is got"

[8.0] "She has had some excellent matches, and while she does have a very unique style, which helps to make her stand out like no one else, and she does have good look to, her character work should improve a bit, also she might need to tighten up her game, she already has a lot of unique moves, she just needs to work on perfecting them."

[10.0] "For fun I have been making a list of the best matches I see each year as they happen & Saya Kamitani last year just barely had the most matches on that list with 15. She does take risks that don't always pay off, yes but she's trying to always push herself beyond her limits & 98% of the time or more it has paid off BIG TIME. Since her match with Tam where she won the Wonder Of Stardom Championship, she has been having some of the best matches you'll ever see. She sells the 'tons of heart' & passion for that title as much as someone possibly could. She went from crying from just having the belt in her 1st few title matches to having a personality change because of the belt. The belt brought out an arrogant side of her that didn't change her wrestling style because she needed that belt for what she believes is her identity. She's fought for it like it was her world. But the personality change had other wrestlers trying to check her on it & bring her down to take away her confidence but that didn't work. The passion belt is what drives her, not her ego. She had so many epic matches in the year 2022 & had easily one of the best matches this year against Hazuki on March 4th. She's the Stardom wrestler with the most heart & showed that against the Wild Heart, Hazuki. That's why she's held the belt for so long. With performances like she's been showing, I say she's currently top 10 best in the world. Easily."

[5.0] "When Saya said one of her main inspirations was Kota Ibushi, everything clicked for me as to why I'm not much of a fan of her style of wrestling: like Ibushi, it's a lot of really soulless wrestling combined with a massive push that exposed genuine limitations in how well she could work. Can she have good matches? Most definitely. Do they come often enough? Not really. You can tell she has some big atheticism and could be a good prospect if she could work a solid pace, but this enormous push has showcased that those issues are still there and really hurt the quality of her matches; she can be way too focused on trying to do legitimately dangerous spots for the sake of the spot, and her wrestling outside of those feels really like padding for those spots. It doesn't help that prior to her push she WAS basically just a couple of big fancy spots and nothing else in a reliable and decent position in the undercard as a tag worker, but now she's stuck higher on the card without any actual material to work with at that level. She has issues with sustained selling and actual working in psychology in her matches, generally having to be led to them, and I feel like her matches are way, way too long for the kind of style that she has. This is not to say she's a terrible worker, but that she's in that camp of "bigger is better" where she's consistently trying to do more reckless spots and longer matches instead of cutting down and focusing on the basics. I'm not even talking about the botches (which are inevitably going to be a factor in ranking someone) but they are there and generally don't look pretty. Thing is, there's a solid wrestler there in Kamitani: she has the physical traits, atheticism, and big bumps in her to be that, it's just that the actual tangible basics that should be there aren't because she's been pushed to the moon way too soon, and that's just a shame."

[7.0] "Saya seems like somebody who's gotten a huge push a little bit before they were ready for it. She's interesting in that she's got a lucha-inspired moveset that she's just athletic enough to pull off, but not athletic enough to imbue with that effortless grace that's the mark of an elite lucha-style wrestler. She's perfectly fine, but not somebody that I'm in a hurry to see wrestle."

[8.0] "If you rate someone by their botches (which by the way are quite oftenly made, like i have never seen a wrestler not making a mistake ever) you're genuinely delusional. That's not how you rate a wrestler. Saya might not be a 10, maybe not even a 9. But she's doing well and is still a great performer and entertainer. She might not have the in ring movement and the promo skills she needs but she's working on it. She attracted so much hate in the last month due to that unfortunate mistake and she really doesn't deserve it. Stuff happens a lot. For everyone. Equally."

[10.0] "Saya is one the best white belt champions for me, firstly, she didn't catch my attention but when I saw her matches I understand why so many people love her and I am happy that I am in the period of time when she already became a top."

[10.0] "What can I say about Saya that hasn't already been said. Despite holding the second most important title in the championship hierarchy of Stardom, she has went above and beyond to make her White belt just as prestigious as Syuri's Red belt, if not more. To stand out in a promotion full of talented wrestlers, you really need something truly special. And whatever it is, Saya Kamitani possesses it in spades."

[8.0] "A lot of her offense is extremely sloppy and at times actually confusing. But she has great babyface fire and "bushido spirit". She has one of the best babyface comebacks in all of Stardom, and when is in a match as somewhat of an underdog, it's always one of her best matches. When she is booked as a powerful high flyer, the matches fall somewhat flat. She has a really cool charisma during her entrance, but a whacky character during press conferences where she'll give out spoilers or start crying. Kamitani is the most "hot and cold" upper card wrestler on the roster, who can be one of the best at times, but also somewhat cold at other times."

[10.0] "If earlier I was annoyed by her every move, and she was the only wrestler whose botches I am critical of, now I can just call her one of the best performers of the era, and it was a convincing leap, the nature of which I didn't even immediately understand, as if at some point she started doing everything right, and every single match became like a holiday for me. Perhaps the rebirth of Saya Kamitani happened for me in the match against Tam Nakano, the same one where Kamitani won the championship. I was against this idea, I wanted Nakano to continue her wonderful reign, but there was such an extraordinary and tremulous situation in the match that made me think that no matter how beautiful the road was and no matter how scrupulous the booking was, there simply wouldn't be a better moment for Kamitani. She took the damn title, and I was happy: dude, who sincerely believed that she should grow up to try (! ) to head the Stardom for at least another year. But this bet was important for Kidani and apparently for Ogawa, and it happened already now, and since then she has been growing, getting better day by day, continuing her progress further. The matches in her reign are either just good or fantastic, for example, her defense against Natsupoi is one of my favorite matches in Stardom, I liked it to the core, and I watched it on the day when my country and my city began to be bombed from all directions and noticeably complicated my life, but even in such an atmosphere, Kamitani managed to impress me and make me distract myself from what I constantly heard outside the window. Her defense in the match against Nakano is as masterpiece as their previous match. She sold Mirai like a million dollar star. And the match against the Starlight Kid was the culmination of Kamitani's abilities, which showed the entire vast fan base that she really understands how wrestling works and how to sell pain in an injured limb. Perhaps this review is a little sentimental, but I'm really scared, because there is no end in sight to her development, I'm just sure that I want to see her at the head of the promotion, as an indisputable Ace who holds many records and who will become a symbol of the success of the Stardom, as one of the most popular promotions in the world. A person who is able to express himself in the best way in absolutely any type of matches will always stand high on my personal list, and Saya, in addition, has charm and charisma, leadership traits and self-irony, has everything except the experience that she continues to gain. TOP 3 in the Stardom right now (after Mayu and Giulia) with the prospect of overtaking both in the near future."

[9.0] "Saya has all the spectacular moves down, a brilliant high flier but the problem for me that is keeping her from rising through the ratings is in how she wrestles in between the big spot moments. She seems to flip from high speed, high flying majesty to a more pedestrian, plodding style in the early parts of matches and at times throughout; I for one find it makes her matches and her in particular not quite fully capture my imagination. I know there may be a spanish fly or a phoenix splash coming, but everything she does in between doesn't speak to the "Phoenix" image and name, that inconsistency makes her tricky to pin down and get behind.
