[9.0] "I don't know much about his WWE run, but I know alot about his indy run beforehand. He was the BACKBONE to 2000s Calgary independent wrestling, specifically in Stampede Wrestling's reboot era. King of the Ogden legion. He wasn't typically booked like a main eventer, but it was no question he was the best worker on the shows. TJ Wilson (as I know him) was innovative and had the coolest finishes. It's no wonder he produces for WWE."

[9.0] "TJ came up at the worst time of the PG Era. During his initial callup on ECW, he and Evan Bourne had bangers and you just wished they could have fought for the cruiserweight title or even the US/IC championship. Then with Daniel Bryan, Justin Gabriel, Sami Zayn, Adrian Neville, Finn Balor, etc. it looked like he was in line for some fun matchups. But he never got a sustained solo push. He was a technical wizard and capable of fast paced, high flying - had good matches any given night. And was a proven commodity in the tag team division with The Hart Dynasty and with Cesaro. But ultimately never got the machine's backing. In another universe he probably leaves WWE for a bigger spotlight elsewhere. That said, before his injury he was a great talent and from what we know is doing great as a producer"

[7.0] "Very solid wrestler. If he was coming into the business this day and age, he'd be highly rated by a lot more people. Came into WWE at the wrong time, they didn't care about tag teams and The Hart Dynasty literally only had The Usos as decent tag team competitors. On his own, I think by now he would've been at least IC or US champion. His mic work was decent-ish, in-ring work was fantastic. Shame his career ended early but on the plus side, he works backstage now for WWE and helps to put together matches we see nowadays. Seems to have a great mind for the business."

[8.0] "Tyson Kidd is up there with one of the possible worst injuries (c1-c2 fusion). Shame that it had to happen when he was at peak of his career and was only in mid 30s. He was not doing big but he was presumably going to do big soon enough. Shame that his career ended very prematurely after his NXT repackage and terrific tag team run with Cesaro, where he found more of his feet and become a more grounded technician. Had he not been injured 9 years ago, he could have gone Danielson route and be an upper midcarder/tag team player and perhaps even eventually a main eventer in WWE then exit, go elsewhere and deliver dream matches. I, for one, would have been delighted to see him go against Zack Sabre Jr. I also enjoyed his (and Davey Boy Smith's for that matter) feud with the Usos even though they were bunch of amateurs back then. I think he'll be appreciated more retrospectively as the more time passes. A great mind in the business either way."

I fear people are letting their imaginations run wild by pretending he could have been a huge star but once he found himself in NXT he was an entertaining act."

[9.0] "Tyson Kidd is a tragic story that legitimately makes me sad when I think about it. Had a relatively lackluster early run in WWE, with flashes of greatness but overall failing to pique much interest. Then he got sent to NXT and seemed to completely reinvent himself. There he was able to fully demonstrate his talent as a phenomenal technical wrestler while also becoming a far more interesting character, actually managing to develop some solid charisma. I remember being so happy for him and was super excited when he got sent back up to the main roster where he eventually formed a really promising team with Cesaro ? and then he suffered a horrifying near-death injury that completely ended his career. It honestly fucking sucks and I feel for him so much. I watched this man come such a long way, only for him to have things cut short when his future seemed more hopeful than ever. I? ll always wonder if he could? ve made it to the top had he not been injured, but I guess it? s impossible to know now. I definitely think he had what it took though. He was really damn good. But still, Kidd had a great career in WWE and still has a lot to offer the business, all be it in a different role."

[8.0] "I started watching WWE in January 2015, so I hit the very end of Tyson's career. Nobody blames Samoa Joe for this injury, such things happen in wrestling but it's a shame that Tyson ended his career prematurely, especially since 2015 started out as a good year for him. The Canadian was an outstanding technical fighter, especially good in team fights. Currently, he has not dropped out of WWE and is working in the production where he does a good job. I saw an interview with him where he said "never say never" on the subject of returning to the ring, but at the same time he mentioned that since 2015 he has not trained anything related to wrestling. I believe that he is reasonable and that even if he does come back, only when he is ready - health is the most important thing."

When NXT was really getting started, he migrated down there & really helped cement the brand as the best thing going during the mid-20-teens."

Nothing special but it was a shame how his career was cut short just as he was starting to get momentum with Cesaro, because he really could have thrived as a NXT feature with his unique moveset and workrate."

He really found his character and refreshed himself. His tag run with cesaro was good, too without a doubt. Unfortunately, a big injury suddenly happened which ended his career. Very sad to hear that. He hasn't reached max potential so far."

[6.0] "Tyson Kidd is a fantastic technician -- a real old-school mat wrestler who got over based on talent alone, similar to Daniel Bryan and Cesaro. Unlike Cesaro, he never really was able to showcase much personality, and his charisma is somewhat lacking. But the man does have an understated sense of humor, and honestly, his in-ring performances are a joy to watch. Had he not gotten injured, his pairing with Cesaro would have been a highlight of the tag-team division for ages to come, and if they reunite should he recover I'm not going to be complaining. There's room for all types in the WWE, and a hand as solid as Tyson Kidd is an asset to the company."

[10.0] "An innovative, technically sound, elite high-flier who trained in the Hart Dynasty, worked on the independent circuit for years, revamped himself in NXT, and tag teams with Cesaro has got to be the IWC's dream wrestler. This man is absolutely outstanding the ring. He has the ability to work a slow-paced match full of holds and mat maneuvers and still succeed at keeping the match interesting. He can also do a complete spot fest and is up there with the best athletes in the business. His arsenal contains moves such as somersault topes, apron cannonball, diving hurricanranas, frankensteiners, planchas, moonsault, leg drops, brainbusters, and neckbreakers. I've never seen a bad match from him and he's only getting better. He's improved immensely on the mic and mirthful to listen to on commentary. If booked correctly, he could be a main event heel or face. He's one of the best in the world, but since he didn't compete in companies like ROH and PWG, we haven't seen his best yet, and we most likely never will. The fact that he can work the WWE style and put on better matches than the top independent talents is proof of how exceptional his work is. He also knows a salmagundi of submissions, form the sharpshooter, to a grapevining ankle lock, to a cross-legged triangle choke. His gimmick went from a bland, jovial babyface to a conceited, ignorant, supercilious tweener who you can't hate because he is so good."

However, since his time in NXT, he has improved greatly in that area to now become, not only, one of the best in-ring workers but one of the most developed and compelling characters on the WWE roster."

The guy can also wrestle. He's got something going and hopefully he is awarded a mid-level title like the IC or US title."
PWF wrote on 14.11.2014:

His mic skills grew and he developped a great gimmick with his wife (FACT). It's about time we have a meaningful 'superstar-with-a-manager' gimmick back in the WWE. And having a face manager to a heel wrestler will bring more stories to the table. In a near future, I could see him having a nice run with the Intercontinental Championship."

mrjoshdude wrote on 29.07.2014:
[7.0] "He's a great wrestler, trained in the Hart Dungeon pretty guarantees that. He can definitely put on a great match. His main flaw for years, though, was his lack of talking power and charisma. More recently on NXT he's been doing a lot better with that and really showing way more than he ever did in his main roster run. I still find him pretty forgettable though, he still just comes across to me as pretty dull. There are guys you see and you just know they've got something, I just don't see it in Tyson. Maybe one day."

I lvoe the fact that he wrestles a mat wrestling, and technical style, while encompassing the high flying, and Japanese strong style. His biggest downfall is mic skills and charisma, but honestly, I think he's going great without them."
