[2.0] "Brian Kendrick has sadly been very involved in my home country, Chile. I've always seen him portrayed as a god, basically a foreign Hulk Hogan. And I'm sick of it. Brian Kendrick was always just another WWE wrestler, with average skills, a normal moveset (I don't know why some people say he's incredible; the only "remarkable" thing is his protected Burning Hammer). He's only popular here in Chile because he was in WWE, and here in Chile, we really like foreign things and reject our own. The last thing I saw of him was a few days ago, where I read "Kendrickmania, " and he's going back to Chile. That's what prompted me to make this comment. Kendrick, they don't like you here because you're incredible or a wrestling god, they just like you because of where you were."

His promos are shit and his style of wrestling is white noise when everyone else is doing the same stuff. Like I said, he's not terrible but I don't see the big deal about him."

[5.0] "Interestingly he's the "Shawn Michaels" of a tag team that held the championship for a year - that speaks to something, even if its more about Paul London not being able to get himself remotely over. Kendrick did well in the early Smackdown days and his ring work was always solid, but he was definitely missing that "it factor" to take him to the next level. The conspiracy theory stuff was just meant to get heat so he can be penalized for dumb opinions, but should be still dismissed as part of a dumb attempt to get his character over"

[3.0] "God Kendrick looks bad in 2024. His recent appearance in NOAH made me want to review him, and its sadly not a glowing review. His original run in the fed was decent if overrated, he did not really have that many great matches. His CC run was undeniably very good, and probably the last time he looked like a good worker, but that was almost 10 years ago now. His matchup in NOAH this year was really dire and the clips I have seen from his other work was disappointing. For the past 5 or so years he has been really quite boring, and to top it off seems like a garbage person."

The Hooligans, in 2008 have a singles push that was supossed to be his break out moment, unforunatelly adictions and other problemas got the better of him, still is one of my favourites, now banned for some things he say in a past podcast hopefully he have one last bright moment before he completely retires."

"Brian Kendrick was never going to be a long term main event player given his size but his run in 2008 as THE Brian Kendrick proved that he had the ability to play the chicken s*** heel role incredibly well and be an effective foil for the upper card babyfaces. Unfortunately it was a relatively short run which morphed into a showcase for his bodyguard Ezekiel Jackson. After he was traded to RAW in 09 he became lost in the shuffle and was subsequently released which felt like a waste of a promising gimmick. He later returned in 2016 as for the Cruiserweight Classic as a veteran lead and hung around on 205 live for a period after that. When old controversial comments resurfaced in 2021 it pretty much put an end to Kendricks career with any major company."

I didn't like the kid then and felt he was taking up time probably better used for others. Many years later I caught him at an independent show out in SoCal and the whole show was almost absolutely awful, Kendrick was NOT a saving grace (John Hennigan was though). I can now watch his debut in the WWE via Peacock and at least by this point I find joy in watching him lose. Maybe he will grow on me, that's why I prefaced the review."

[9.0] "Brian Kendrick is one of the few wrestlers that I genuinely consider to be underrated. Given his short frame and small body, it was easy to assume that young Spanky would not make it in the business. However, Kendrick defied the odds and made a solid career for himself in the land of the giants WWE with his equally small but incredibly talented partner Paul London. Kendrick could work any styles he needed to. From babyface high-flying to heelish grappling. Kendrick opened a lot of doors for cruiserweight wrestlers to go to the WWE. He was truly ahead of his time. He now runs a wrestling school where he helps, trains, and prepares the next generation of wrestling. (plus my inmate username is Spanky, this doesn't affect his rating but it was so good i decided to use it 20 years later.)"

Had a very cool look when he became The Brian Kendrick, which ultimately was cut short before it had enough time to flourish. Had a good comeback story during the Cruiserweight Tournament."

[8.0] "Kendrick was easily a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. His physical prime came in a time where the top companies were focusing more on size and mass rather than pure wrestling talent, of which he had in spades and then some. Through he got a bit of limelight in ROH at the very beginning, he never really got the chance to show off his abilities. The closest he ever got to that was during his massively underrated 2008 heel run as "The" Brian Kendrick, which showcased his surprisingly impressive mic skills and ability to get a crowd to hate his guts. Kendrick was great at pushing the buttons of any crowd he was in, either inside of the ring with his cowardly heel tactics or outside with his drawn out and overly pretentious promos. Even at the twilight of his career, he's still able to be one of the few guys on 205 Live to actually have a personality, and his match with Ibushi was very good, and showcased that Kendrick could hang with the new guys despite his physical shortcomings."

He just transitioned from a fun spot monkey to a brilliant ring tactician so well. He sells a gimmick like nobody's business. He just has that magnetic charisma that will always make absolutely love him. One of my favorite wrestlers ever."

[9.0] "Kendrick is a tremendous wrestler and had a pretty incredible career despite never really hitting the top spot. Primary successes would be his monster run with Paul London as WWE Tag Team champions and all too brief reign as Cruiserweight Champion in the early days of 205 Live. But he also had success as TNA X Division champion and in Japan? s Zero1 promotion. Though he? d have more title success in sister promotion FIP, Spanky was a notable figure in early ROH too. Adding in runs with ICW, NJPW, PWG and many more, he? s been a very notable and decorated light heavyweight journeyman for a long time."

He was one my favourites growing up, from Londrick to His Grizzled Attitude nowadays, THE Brian Kendrick has done so much versatility in his career with whatever gimmick he has, and his in ring style progressed to greater technical level. The Man with a Plan, is a Wrestling Legend."

[7.0] "Good 'ol Spanky was always a fun watch. Back in his ROH days he had a loony slacker kind of gimmick going for him and he made that gimmick work like a charm. He wasn't ever the best but of the old Ring of Honor days he was the most entertaining along with Christopher Daniels. Hes changed a lot between now and then and is now one of the only reasons to watch 205 live. I'm really glad the guy's gotten a new lease on WWE but I kind of hope he gets a bit more then a Cruiserweight run. Hes certainly good enough both in ring and out of it to carry the IC or US titles."

[10.0] "I'd say Kendrick is one of greatest jr. heavyweight wrestlers ever. He can pretty much adjust his in ring style in any type of situation, whether it is a high-flying one or slow-paced methodical one, thanks to his vast wrestling experience. He also has outstanding mic work, too, although I do not count him as a charismatic figure, but he can hold a promo on his own confidently."
Hensley wrote on 19.02.2017:
[10.0] ""I'm back And I'm better than ever.. " Arriving on the WWE scene in 2003, Kendrick had a memorable stint on SmackDown as Spanky, happy go-lucky kid, who just chasing his dream. He left the company in early 2004. It wasn't until he re-signed with WWE the following year that he started to show signs of one day becoming a promising singles star. Kendrick might be best known for his time spent in the tag team division alongside Paul London. The two dominated the division, both on Raw and SmackDown, from 2005 to 2008. At this time everyone believed that Paul London is the next shining star of the team and Spanketty will in a midcard forever. Upon branching out on his own, he completely reinvented himself as THE Brian Kendrick (gimmick loved by literally everyone) on the blue brand. He flirted with the WWE Championship picture and went up against top-tier talent prior to his second release in 2009. Then he come back to the indies, literally losing "it" and becoming one of the worst TNA X-Division performers. He opened his wrestling school, BUT! And after five yearso of journeys he returns in WWE as the grizzled veteran Punished Brian Kendrick, dropping "THE" for the contrast between old Kendrick and new Kendrick. In a matches against Raul Mendoza and Tony Nese he looks way slower and his opponents are way more skilled. So he NEEDS to use his old attiture and heel moves. Gets a FIVE STAR match against Ibushi. Literally tells a STORY with ARC and CHARACTER. Returns to the WWE as cruiserweight division performer, wins the championship and becomes THE Brian Kendrick again. 10/10."

[7.0] "Brian Kendrick is impressing me more with his current run than he ever did before. His character work is impeccable, realistic and unsettling; he's bringing a degree of emotional nuance into the WWE that the product rarely sees. His wrestling style is also an excellent addition to Raw's cruiserweight division, and even at his supposedly-ancient 37, Kendrick has shown that he can grapple and fly with the best of them. There's something decidedly midcard about Kendrick's desperate, conniving, yet still-sympathetic pseudo-heel. Even so, he's a pleasure to watch, and is currently the best thing going in his division. I'd have held of slightly longer on giving him the championship, but I expect he'll do fine work with it -- and that his best years in the WWE may still be ahead of him."

[10.0] "I'm likely overrating him, but I'm setting this as a rating for what the current incarnation of Brian can mean. Aside from Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho, Brian Kendrick is the most compelling character on RAW. His slow burning feud with TJ will either make or break the future for smaller, "life-sized" guys in WWE, and if he gets proper screen time with his currently astoundingly good character work (both in ring and promos, his desperation rings genuine), it will be a make and Brian will be responsible for a major shift in pop wrestling. Of all people, it's both strange and fitting that the Reality Era that Daniel Bryan was supposed to start may now be in the hands of his good friend, the formerly written off Kendrick. Young Kendrick is an 8, the new, salty veteran Kendrick is a 10. His interview with Michael Cole gave me chills."

He was always been entertaining, for a man that is a lot smaller than the rest of his fellow wrestlers, he is very memorable whether as "Spanky" or teaming with Paul London, to even having Big Zeke as a bodyguard. I wouldn't mind another Cruiserweight Championship run from him, or a high profile angle before he hangs it up and continues training at the PC"

[8.0] "Kendrick was a standout of the 2000s indy scene, combining high-flying prowess and technical skill with an oddball personality. Though he first became known in ROH in the early 2000s, much of my favorite work of his involves his tag team with Paul London, which led him to two tag title reigns in WWE. His heel singles run in WWE as "The Brian Kendrick" seemed like it could have grown into something more. He later had a singles run in TNA that led him to the X-Division Championship, and continues to be a mainstay on the indies as well as a trainer in California."
PWC wrote on 10.07.2015:
[6.0] "Brian Kendrick definitely had his moments such as being the longest reigning tag team champion with Paul London back in 2006-2007. However thanks to politics, he never got to shine. Ever since he botched an elimination at the 2009 Royal Rumble from Triple H, he was stuck in jobberville until his eventual release."

[10.0] "There's no doubt that Brian Kendrick was great in pretty much everything he did and every role he played, he was always a tremendous in-ring performer, he was one half of one of the top 3 longest reigning tag team champions ever in WWE along with Paul London and they were an awesome tag team back in the day. Imagine how much better Brian Kendrick's career in WWE would've been if he wasn't just an interim WWE champion in the 2nd Championship Scramble match in WWE and it eventually turned into a real WWE title reign for him as The Brian Kendrick! It's a shame his career in WWE didn't turn out that way and he got released almost a year later after that scramble match, but thankfully he's still wrestling independently today."
