Unfortunately he came along during the Russo era so even though he was good on commentary, the matches were getting too unbearable to sit through! Came in for a cup of coffee at the WWF after the buyout but left after a few weeks."

[8.0] "Scott Hudson wasn't in the same league as JR, Gordon Solie, or Joey Styles as far as play by play guys go, but he was good and improving when he got his national exposure with WCW. Unfortunately, that happened just as WCW was dying – and even before WCW folded, Tony Schiavone's political clout in the company probably held Hudson back. While he worked for TNA a bit, they never used him as more than a backstage announcer so he wasn't really able to stand out. Had WCW rebounded, or had TNA gone with Hudson over Mike Tenay, I think Hudson would've continued to improve and would be thought of today as an excellent play by play announcer. Instead, unfortunately, he's largely forgotten."

[8.0] "Due to getting his national exposure just as his company was going out of business, Scott Hudson is sadly lost to wrestling history. This guy was GOOD! He was smart, informative, very witty, and clearly had a genuine love for the business. If WWE had an announcer today with a FOURTH of Hudson's personality and passion, I might not have to mute their TV programs. This guy was really, really good, and his contribution to the sport should not be overlooked."
