Rina Yamashita

"I do not like Rina Yamashita, but I am legitimately scared of her. My emotional response is, she's the female version of Jun Kasai. Yeah, I'm a sucker for hot chicks in death matches. But how far is too far? Rina is Nick Gage level respect. She's a legend. A force. A presence. In the ring? I don't know. I genuinely watch her in shock and horror cowering. Questioning why. Brutal. She's tough as nails and takes hard bumps. And she sells on top of that. And I'm pretty sure she doesn't care which is which. Which is Mox Gage Itoh Yamashita Kasai. It is a very short list of names that can replace her. Man, now I'm too scared to even rate her."

[5.0] "Think Rina is an okay death match wrestler but never watched a match of hers and was super impressed. Her actual wrestling seems sloppy at times. Will give her credit she gets over with a crowd and she plays the babyface in peril well."

[7.0] "She's good, but a 9? come on guys she's not that good. I do enjoy the death match stuff sometimes but i wouldnt say it makes her one of the all time greats. Tbh i havent seen much of her stuff outside of her deathmatch stuff so i'm solely basing this of that but i still don't think she would be deserving on a 9 rating"

But her rating seems a bit high as it puts her with a lot of all time greats and unfortunately she hasnt had any classic matches and her career highlights have been somewhat limited. Hopefully she gets some more chances to shine cuz she is a total badass. I most enjoy her in hardcore style matches."

[9.0] "Probably the best freelancer wrestling in Japan today. Can work any style, and actually thrives outside of the deathmatch environment she's known for. More people should check her work out."

[3.0] "I guess I'm skewed as a fan of death match wrestling as my favorite matches are story telling first, violence second i.e. Onita vs Funk or Onita vs Hayabusa, but I can't make it work with Rina. She seems truly amazing when other people on here but I watched her in a tag match with Jun Kasai and they were just stabbing and slicing each other with a few moves scattered in between."

[9.0] "Rina Yamashita was a solid wrestler for several years, but during the past year she has hit a new gear. It's currently a toss-up between her and Toru Sugiura for the best deathmatch worker in the business today. Furthermore, her overall work has improved considerably: as late as 2021, she was a good but unspectacular worker in more traditional matches. This year, however, she has been great under any stipulation. She's super charismatic, she comes up with lots of cool ideas, and she knows how to get the attention of the fans."

[9.0] "I've seen Rina Yamashita 4 times, three times at SEAdLINNNG and once at Tokyo Joshi. She has not just impressed me, she's genuinely blown me away every single time I've seen her. I will continue to watch these SEAdLINNNG shows if it means I get to see Rina."

Rina is one of my favorite joshi and probably my n°1 choice among all joshi with Her style of wrestling. Her reign as Regina di WAVE was too short... but doesn't change at all the fact She is great and can still be greater. A 9 well deserved!"
