[9.0] "Right away, I think that Terrance Gerin earns a ton of brownie points just for carrying the kind of gimmick he carries with a sub 6-foot frame. From the way that the crowd always erupts whenever he arrives, you would expect a man at least half a foot taller. He was never known as a guy that had the capability to put out technical masterworks, but he doesn't need that, because his gimmick as this gnarly, unhinged wall of nastiness is so fantastic. Has duly shown an ability to take & give disgustingly hard hits his entire career. It's inarguable that he's been a great hand for TNA, whether he's risking life & limb in Elevation X matches, or he's volunteering to fill in for travel-issue-affected workers for the Turkey Bowl. I duly disagree with the sentiment that he has in any way fallen off or gotten worse, & he's still the same old Rhino to me; awesome mic work, great in-ring speed & gnarly, nasty bumps. You can tell he works like a motherfucker in the gym, because for 5'10, he's got muscles, muscles on his muscles, & muscles on his eyeballs."

I can say that his exposure in ECW was definitely fitting for his spot, and I think he was probably about as successful in the WWE that he was going to be."

He might not have the most technical skill set, but he made up for it with presence, toughness, and longevity. Still going strong after 30 years is no joke. Solid powerhouse with a memorable look and legacy."

But unfortunately his lack of charisma prevented him from getting very far in WWE, where he was mostly used as a jobber. Although he did manage to be an attraction in TNA for a little while. I never really watched much of his ECW stuff but he clearly put on good hardcore matches. He's definitely proven that he's tough."

He's been a reliable veteran and good talent everywhere he's gone. His NWA title win is undoubtedly his career highlight, but he's had some good moments throughout. Edge and Goldberg are most synonomous with the spear, but his GORE should be considered right up there with them"

And another interesting thing about Rhino is that his age doesn't seem to slow him down either. His performances today are just as good as back in the 90's."
bigredtalk89 wrote on 05.05.2025:

Mic work is average, but for some reason this guy just has a certain aura around him that makes people love him. Doesn't have to say much, does a lot of the talking in-ring in my opinion. Have seen some of his ECW stuff, I know him more from his WWF/E and TNA days. Loved his work in WWE, thought he was even better in TNA. Probably better off being a big fish in a small pond, as I think in WWE he kind of got lost in the shuffle. Overall, solid wrestler, strong 6 rating."

[8.0] "Rhino has never weathered at all. He still has the same look now that he did back in the ECW days. Doesn't look like he's aged one bit since then IMO. The stuff he did and still can do in the ring is pretty much timeless. If you watched a match of his back in the late 90's and watch a match of his now, he hasn't changed up any of his repute despite his age or due to injuries of any kind. And that's one of the biggest compliments you can give to a person whose been one persona for as long of a tenure as he has. That flows in to my next point, only being one character his whole main stream run, I can't help but to respect the fact that all of these years later, he's still able to show that same intensity, that same frustration, that same anger, that same killer instinct, and what have you that he did when he first came on the scene. And he worked in the ring and was portrayed as so much bigger than he actually was and that's what suckered me in. When he was doing the violent stuff that he was doing like piledriving women through tables, goring people through tables and stages, so on, and so forth, it looked like he was this monstorous man beast...war machine however you want to say it of a guy killing everybody, I didn't know till years later that he was only like 5'8" and somewhere in the 270 lbs range. I think his biggest knock is he was a victim of inconsistent booking, especially from his WWE run on going, TNA tried to build him back up a little bit, but overall he's someone you gotta have the magic to know how to book, and I think at certain points of his career the magic of his persona was lost amongst the writers/bookers."

Even in tag teams with VBD and Heath, it's been getting way to slow with Rhino in there. There are a lot of faster and younger wrestlers in Impact that could really use his spot and make it count."

Cons of Rhino would be his lack of height kept him away from a plethora of potential feuds. Go back and rewatch as much 2000/2001 Rhyno as possible and quickly realize EVERY match is better than you anticipated, it's a great thing when someone has chemistry with an entire roster and can elevate any number of people. Recommended!"

He had a great buildup in ECW and his reputation as a sadistic, hardcore psychopath would follow him throughout most of his career. He was even pretty decent when he was teaming with Heath Slater and showing a more comedic side. His promos are decent enough, but his move set is really what attracts me to him asa competitor. A great addition to any roster and a great career to go along with."

Great intensity, had some insane brawls with the likes of Sandman, Rob Van Dam, Spike Dudley and others. Was (Like many) wasted in the WWF after ECW folded, even with Paul Heyman behind the scenes watching out for him. Never quite the same after his 2001 neck surgery. Respect to him for still being out there 20+ years after that."

He also made a believable foe for any kind of wrestler. I'm not sure he was quite top WWE-champion-worthy like some here suggest, but then again, there have been less deserving champions. His place was in the midcard, and occasionally as a rival for a true main-eventer."
Ma Stump Puller wrote on 06.07.2020:
[6.0] "Rhyno's prime years came as ECW was falling apart and had next to no major superstars, and was quickly put over as essentially their equivalent to Goldberg: despite not being the tallest guy around, he made it up in pure intensity, and one of the best spears in the business. However, he would struggle in WWE's Land of the Giants, and his mediocre wrestling capabilities meant that he would only really work in hardcore matches or tag team bouts. By the time he came to TNA, he was far from the beefy monster he was in ECW, and sizzled out quickly. He did get a interesting comeback to WWE, but didn't do anything but be a comedy duo and win the tag championships. Now way past his prime and far more plodding and slow, I doubt he's going to do much more major work."

In WWE he was the US champion and had some great feuds with Undertaker and John Cena. Too bad he never was WWE Champion or Intercontinental."

He wasn't very tall but he was built like a damn tank, maybe even more so then Steve Williams, but he wasn't anything amazing in ECW or WWE, and I can't really vouch for his TNA/Impact stuff. Apparently most of his best matches took place in Impact. I might reevaluate him in the later future but for now he strikes me as a better then average ECW guy."

The Gore, piledrivers through tables on the outside, running people through tables and a badass theme song. In WWE, he had tone it down and more or less became a brute with an over finishing move. His return worked well as he complimented Heath Slater, and provided some legitimacy to their tag team title run. Outside of a imminent Slater breakup, it's tough to see where Rhino goes from here as he has lost a step but you can always use veterans in the midcard."

[5.0] "Awesome finisher aside, I don't think Rhyno's ever really hit it out of the park in the in-ring department for me. And his in-ring work is his main selling point, outside of playing a believable intense and animalistic maniac. I think he's perfect for the role he was given in NXT, where he got to go on a rampage versus low-level opposition to eventually fall to midcarders and above. When he became world champion in TNA out of nowhere (I think someone (Nash? ) had to noshow the event, and they threw the belt on Rhyno as a surprise to appease the crowd), I figured that maybe he'd get a chance to develop into a main event-level guy, but even there he didn't really convince me that he was a top-level guy. Decent look, good intensity, fine in the ring, perfectly inoffensive midcard brute... for a while; I feel like his act gets stale pretty quickly."

Wish he'd have gotten a bigger run on top of something but his career stands for itself."

He was never given a shot at the WWE title and I remember when this guy made the move to TNA in 2008 and feuding with his real life best friend Christian (besides Edge) the crowd could of cared less. Rhyno losing his job after getting into a fight with his wife back in 2005, at Wrestlemania 21 is probably more notable than his entire WWE run."

He's only gotten better in the ring over the years, and despite being a 20-year veteran he's still under 40, so he should have plenty of gas left in the tank."

Not only that, but The Gore was possibly the best spear in the business at the time. It fit his character perfectly. WWE also used him very well in 2001. But after receiving the injuries that put him on the shelf for the whole of 2002, he hasn't seen quite the same degree of interest or momentum. Yes, he won the NWA title, but it was short lived. I see Rhino as someone who had great potential, but unfortunately much of his success and legacy happened early."

Granted, I don't really care for the fact that he's in the House Of Truth now because I don't like Truth Martini that much, I would rather have him still be in the Embassy Limited, but at the end of the day, I still get to see Rhino on ROH TV now so that's definitely a big plus!"
