[5.0] "One of the most average wrestlers in Japan. Whether in Wrestle 1, All Japan or in smaller companies he has never been impressive and was pushed far beyond his talent level."

[6.0] "Kono is the Kevin Nash of Japan pretty much; he's gotten big pushes wherever he's went, but justified none of them despite said status. Despite being tall and clearly having a look that impressed he's kinda always been around. Muto adopted him as one of his protégés but unlike Suwama or Tanahashi, Kono didn't really have much going for him; he's a tall dude who can do Jumbo Tsuruta spots fine and a reasonable shoot-style worker given his MMA experience. That's really it though, his range of matches doesn't run far and you'd be hard-pressed to give a "best of" off the cuff, there's a noticeable cap of quality that he hits very easily when left to his own devices. Hits hard, best suited for tag matches where his more slower power-based work shines best. Tenryu Project stuff is fairly good so watch that I guess. Muto title match is good as well despite Muto carrying most of the action."

[7.0] "Not as good as a Kohei Sato or a Shuji Ishikawa, but still a strong and credible heavyweight who knows how to hit."
