[8.0] "I really like Josh Alexander, he was one of TNA's saving graces. He's great in the ring and really good on the mic. Kinda hope he gets a decent singles push cause he's too good to just be another member of the Don Callis Family"

[6.0] "Josh gets demoted from an 8 to a 6 for me because frankly, after doing this " subjectively rating wrestling things" hobby for almost a year on this website, I've grown tired of euphemizing & giving people the benefit of a doubt. It always comes right back around to that point where I have to be honest with myself in any case. Alexander's character is a shriveled shell of what it used to be in TNA, & it is all Josh's fault for actively selecting to be managed by Tony Khan when all he had to do is look at Tony Khan's record. He had all of the information. He had all the foresight reality could afford him. He quite likely looked at cases of people like Keith Lee, Parker Boudreaux, Ricky Starks, Miro, Wardlow, & somehow failed to come to the conclusion that " Goodness, this guy isn't particularly good at booking well-muscled, badass, serious workers whose gimmick is that they are built well & serious as nails. " Bobby Lashley had the advantage of being in a historic stable; Josh didn't have this. He made the wrong choice, & now he's surrounded by workers whom more often than not have him beat on the charisma game in spades in a very, very confused stable, thrown into story devoid 6-mans & 8-mans, & hasn't seen a lick of deserved gold in 200 days, & all of it is his fault. Fantastic worker, but yes. I can't imagine what goes through his mind every time Tony walks up to him with the next bad idea."
[5.0] "Great wrestler, HORRIBLE character. I can't name one noteworthy thing he's done since joining AEW and he's only been a background character in the DCF. He can't cut a promo and is just a huge charisma vaccum these days."
thetwizzler wrote on 11.01.2026:
[4.0] "Mediocre and boring. Technically, Josh Alexander is good. He can do everything you want him to. Everything else that goes with it is lacking. His promos are boring, his character is bland, his presentation is as generic as generic gets. Ooh, "The Walking Weapon" - what about him is dangerous? He LARPs as Kurt Angle! He seems like a "Create-A-Wrestler" from a video game. He's only where he is because Scott D'Amore has a boner for milquetoast Canadians. When he was the centrepiece of TNA, it was unwatchable-- not that it's great now, mind you, it's still a bad show; it was just infinitely worse when D'Amore held the book. Being a background underneath guy in a bad imitation of a NJPW stable is probably this guy's limit in a major wrestling promotion. He sucks."
Reflected wrote on 18.07.2025:
[6.0] "In TNA he really looked like a monster in AEW he seems like a poor imitation, I don't understand what happened. Right now, his connection with AEW feels really weak, and he comes off like a low-mid carder. I'm starting to wonder if the overall level is just too high and he ends up being dull. It's also true he hasn't had many real singles opportunities -- they keep putting him in tag matches or 6-8 man tags, where there are more dynamic wrestlers with flashier movesets, so he ends up disappearing in the ring. At this point, it's even hard to understand why they signed him if there wasn't a real plan behind it. Putting him in the Don Callis stable hasn't helped either he's behind Okada, Fletcher, and Takeshita."
SkyIcons wrote on 27.06.2025:
[4.0] "He's a good technical wrestler, but I find Josh Alexander boring as hell. His look and really just everything besides the wrestling is very generic. Adding more to this, my previous rating of 6 was actually too high. This guy is the most uninteresting wrestler in AEW right now. His wrestling is not good enough to make up for everything that he lacks. Thought being in the Callis family would help hide his flaws, but nope, still boring."

Mark4Lyfe wrote on 11.06.2025:
[9.0] "Josh Alexander is one of the most consistent and underrated performers of the modern era. His work in Impact Wrestling, especially during his title reign, showcased elite-level storytelling, in-ring intensity, and technical precision. He's got that rare blend of toughness and heart that makes every match feel like a fight. Whether he's in singles competition or tag team action with The North, he delivers. His signature moves hit hard, and he carries himself like a true pro. Honestly, if he were in a bigger spotlight more often, he'd be in the conversation for best wrestler in the world."
YTBradensWrestling wrote on 07.06.2025:
[9.0] "Great in ring performer! He always has banger matches that are so good to watch! The thing that is holding him back is that he can be very bland at times. Usually he is carried through interesting storylines then he carries the matches. I wish he had more of a character but he is still amazing because of how good he is in ring"
cfcrusader wrote on 06.04.2025:
[10.0] "Josh Alexander was probably the MVP of TNA's recent era, easily one of the best wrestlers in their history and had the matches to prove it. When the company needed someone to step up, he had a great feud with Moose followed by a title reign full of bangers. Without this, Impact probably doesn't gain the credibility they needed for the rebranding back to TNA. His heel turn and feud with Hendry showed that he was top notch on the mic too."
hassan01 wrote on 14.02.2025:
[10.0] "This guy is an absolute beast, a unique specimen. So fucking technically skilled and an highly effectiv powerhouse too. Was a brilliant tag team wrestler and has done excellent work as a singles wrestler. His reign as the Impact World Champion was simply glorious and he and Moose brought TNA's lost glory back to a large extent if not fully. He delivered bangers day in and day out and still does to this day, my favorite being the iron-man match with TJP. Work on the independents was also superb, I can distinctly recall the hour long classic with Fred Yehi as well the time-limit draw with Richards in 2021 among many other epics. Very very versatile as well, can be very entertaining as a face and a heel and the switch between the two is almost effortless. He's not the best on the mic but can hold his own very well. One of a kind genarational talent."
Rassle Fan wrote on 04.01.2025:
[7.0] "Great wrestler and while his singlet is fine, headgear looks goofy because he's bald. He looks like Mike Myers as Phillip the Hyper Hypo on SNL. His entrance music in TNA also leave a lot to be desired. It's just generic house type music with an annoying humming. It has no energy and no hype. He's still a free agent as of 1/4/25 and I hope wherever he signs gives him better music."
MylesSmith24 wrote on 20.12.2024:

Can cut a promo knows how to work face or heel to an excellent degree can work in a tag team good move set truly generational talent."

dizzied wrote on 30.07.2024:
[10.0] "He really is probably a 9.5. Promo skills are probably an 8 but his in-ring skills are an 11. He is absolutely one of the best technical wrestlers ever. I would like to see him get more exposure in other promotions such as New Japan or AEW or even WWE. My only concern is would he get enough exposure in the bigger organizations or would he get lost in the shuffle. I think New Japan would be a good destination."
BigBadaBruce wrote on 18.07.2024:
"His title reign as Impact World Champion is one of my favourite title reigns of the last 10-20 years. Every day, he paraded that belt with pride as the beacon of a struggling company. Every month, he defended that title like his life depended upon it, wrestling anything up to 30+ minutes in awesome matches, whether technical, high flying, strong style, hardcore, or a beautiful homage to the history of TNA Wrestling, and being good at all of them. It's heartbreaking that he had to vacate the title due to injury after becoming the longest reigning TNA World Champion in history, but maybe its apropos that the only thing that could beat him was injury. Still the Ace of TNA Wrestling."
BigChinchompa wrote on 25.04.2024:
[9.0] "Exceptional in-ring talent, reminds me of a lot of the great technicians like Benoit, Angle, Joe, even Bret at times. I think he's not a great personality or character and I don't feel like he has that "special something" that some wrestlers have. But his athleticism and in ring storytelling are both top notch. He's the kinda guy that can really thrive and main event in smaller promotions but might would get lost in the upper midcard shuffle in an AEW/WWE. Honestly though I hope he gets a chance to wrestle in one of the Japanese round robin tournaments, ideally G1 but Champion Carnival or N-1 would be great too. He really deserves more recognition and credit for both how good he is as a wrestler and how much he's given to Impact/TNA especially in the past 5 years. In theory a big tournament run might would be another feather in his cap and hopefully expose more fans to how exceptional of a wrestler Josh really is."

[10.0] "I'm pumped for Hard to Kill and his match with Hammerstone. Josh is, quite simply, The Ace. What AJ, Samoa Joe, and Kurt Angle did for TNA, he is doing now. And don't get it twisted; he's every bit the talent of current Aces like Okada, Kento, ... does AEW really have an Ace? Anyway, whether it's a tag role, a silent killer, or an everyman we can all relate to (Jet and Jade are an excellent part of the act, since it's not an act), he's excellent in any role. For anyone saying he can't prove himself unless he goes to the big leagues, there's only so many of those Ace slots, so if I'm Alexander, I run with TNA. A truly special wrestler."

Passable on the mic. Lackluster gee shucks "I'm Canadian" gimmick. Good look. Needs a heel turn to see if he can get over with that. If he can he'll prob wind up in Japan, in HHH territory as the guy who gets over "the guy" in the fed, or just in the AEW mid-card programs. May wind up in Josh Daniels territory as a road agent or something as a veteran who's know by wrestlers but has wrestled everywhere but the Fed. It's a shame the guy hasn't really achieved any financial success given how good he is in the ring"

Still, if you love wrestling from a workrate perspective, then Josh Alexander is somebody you should check out. He's improved his promo game compared to a few years ago, but still needs more work to be considered a perfect wrestler in the same vein as Kurt Angle."

TerwilligerTheLucha wrote on 08.03.2023:
[10.0] "As others have said, contender for one of the best wrestlers in the world and the absolute best world champ right now. Seems to be able to have a good match with just about anyone, ever so slightly adjusting his style to bust out bangers with everyone thrown at him. Made his look uniquely his (headgear, singlet and all). His chase for the Impact title single handedly brought me back after years of being a lapsed fan. Wrestling machine in the purest sense."

ParkwayDriver wrote on 22.01.2023:
[10.0] "2015: One of the more unique talents to come up on the independent scene in the last few years. It is too bad that he had to retire because he stood out whenever I got to watch him whether in a tag setting or in a singles setting. Worth seeking out his work if you have not seen enough of him. 2023: Hard to imagine where he would be since I last wrote about him on year eight years ago. One of the best wrestlers in the world today who is on an unbelievable run as World Champion in Impact Wrestling. I cant imagine another talent right now who should be leading the brand like he is. Great match after great match, intense, real. He has it all and anyone who is not watching him at the moment is doing themselves a serious disservice as for me, he is having the best world title run in Impacts history."

The man is just an absolute beast in the ring and incredibly athletic for his size, and more importantly actually knows how to tell a compelling story through his work. Without him, I don? t think the resurgence Impact experienced in 2022 would? ve been possible. Just an absolute animal and a joy to watch. I can see him being a major player in just about any promotion in the world, the only things holding him back are his somewhat average charisma and possibly his age (at least, in a few more years). But yeah, can? t lie, he? s made a pretty big fan of me. Frankly I think he? s one of the best wrestlers in the world today."

Incredibly fun grappler whose able to work many different types of matches. Really happy he's gotten the love he deserves with this impact run he's on. A few years ago it didn't seem like he'd ever get his big break but I'm happy we're past that"

Great pure technician and has a unique look that makes him stand out. Of course, he is not widely discussed as he should be because Impact is hardly given any attention. However, despite Impact falling off the map in recent memory, Alexander is a great example of the good talent that resides there."
