[6.0] "Danny Davis is an underrated figure in modern wrestling history. As a wrestler he spent time in many promotions, mostly CWA, WCW, USWA and SMW. I've only seen his work in Smoky Mountain, but only with that you could see he was prepared to do anything, nice offense or selling. A solid wrestler who coulgd go with anyone, as well as being entertaining. Some of his best work was on a tag team. He entered the Tag Team Title Tournament with Joey Maggs as a thrown together team. They took an upset victory against the Koloffs, one of the favorite teams to win. Then they put over the newly debuted Heavenly Bodies in the semis. Later, won a couple of matches. My favorite match of his was a Four Way Elimiation Tag team match, where Davis did a great babyface performance, getting busted open by the Stud Stable on a great face in peril segment. Great selling for his part. Late in his run in SMW, he got involved in the Ronnie Garvin vs Paul Orndorff feud. He first intervines helping Garvin on Fire in the Mountain, telling the referee that Orndorff had cheaten. Then Orndorff gets a match with him. Davis wins thanks to Garvin stealing Mr. Wonderful's robe. Orndorff gets revenge soon, piledriving and injuring Davis neck. Davis cut some promos with a neck brace about being injured and the revenge he's gonna get on Paul Orndorff. That conclude on a Down and Dirty with Dutch segment where Davis tricks Orndorff with his injury, taking off the brace and choking his rival with him, which led into a handicap match with Garvin. They won that, but Orndorff piledrived Davis again, writing him off the company. Later in his lafe, he created OVW with Jim Cornette and there it begun his career as a trainer. Just look at the wrestlers he trained and helpt develop into big stars."

[8.0] "Before i go on - there is a review which confuses him for the "other" Danny Davis but the rating number is a 6 and in some ways I can not argue too much with that ~ on the surface. On the surface he's short, kinda weird looking, not someone you take seriously but he can go out there and defend the heck out of himself. But if you cut deeper you realize: Overachiever. I honestly am a bit ignorant to his "Nightmare" tenure but what I am learning much about is his era as "The Galaxian (1, Alpha)". His goofy outfit & lack of size makes you overlook him but alas, he's one of the fastest in the ring - if not THE fastest in the WCW roster at this time. He's technical, he can chain wrestle with anyone. He has a deep repertoire and his offense is never the same. Adapts marvelously to every opponent. The selling? Masked guys are taught to sell with their body so expect physical comedy and big time bumps for the era. He's all over the place playing pinball. He never seems exhausted either. He just goes n goes until the other guy wins. Pretty fun to watch his work!"

"FYI the previous commenter has gotten the two Danny Davises mixed up. This guy is "Nightmare" Danny Davis, who is from Tennessee and founded OVW. He's not the same guy as "Dangerous" Danny Davis, who was a heel referee in the WWF in the 80s. However, this Danny Davis IS the one who worked in Stampede Wrestling as noted in the previous comment. It gets confusing, huh!"

[6.0] "Danny was ot terribly relevant on Stampede that I recall for the most part. He was Dangerous Danny Davis, and was usually a face in the early matches on the show. His biggest push came in the WWF as a crooked referee for awhile, and really, although it had been done, it had never been done with as much depth. You will notice early until he got over as a heel a bit more, he worked with a lot of Stampede recruits in the WWF. I would guess they all pitched the angle to Vince. I do not doubt it, but could not confirm. They were all so crafty in how they wanted a wrestling match to look, that it makes sense. He wasn't a tremendous physical specimen but certainly could get in there and sell a match. He was in my mind, the prototype for Nick Patricks character in the early years of the NWO."
