Anna Jay

[0.0] "Unlike Tay Melo, she was simply never good. She only got over for one reason which just saddens me. She can't wrestle even if her life depended on it and I've seen maybe one good match from her in her entire career which really really says a ton about the work she's done. Her work as a tag wrestler is flat out awful as "TayJay" is one of the cringiest names I've ever heard in my life. It doesn't help that their work is cringe as well."

[6.0] "Anna Jay is perhaps the best prospect in all of pro wrestling. 22 years old, only 14 matches in and she's already showing charisma, in-ring ability on top of her superstar looks. Despite her lack of experience, she's able to outshine women who have been in the ring for years and hold her own against various styles and types of opponents. The sky is the limit for this young woman and she will eventually be the face of the AEW women's division. For these reasons, I'm giving her a perfect score, as I feel she will only get better and better, which is incredible as she's already so good just one year into her career. 2025 edit: 5 years in and while she's still good, she seems to be stagnating. Have to revise my rating down to a 6."

"Anna's performance was her worst since the start of her wrestling career. She has the ability to take down wrestlers like Megan and Jamie, but she can't finish matches against them. Her performance in Tay Jay's team is also poor. I think she needs to break up with Tay Mello and focus on singles matches and improve her stamina."

[3.0] "Probably she is not even in the promotion anymore, but fine. She wasn't that good and I really think that her tag with Tay made both of those wrestlers actually look worse. They should split up and work in separate ways for sure, and Anna Jay, just in case, should find a new brand for her. Maybe AEW isn't for her at all."

[7.0] "I like her and I think she was really hitting her stride in late 2024 before she got injured again. The Stardom trip was very solid, the match with Mercedes was great and I actually very much enjoyed her saga with Mariah May. Same goes for the tag team with Harley Cameron, as a matter of fact. I like her and Tay but there's just something missing there at the moment. Maybe a heel turn?"

[3.0] "Getting signed to AEW with five matches of experience was the worst thing thing that could have happened for her long term prospects. Getting six figures to work one match a month was a guaranteed way to make sure she never improved. She's not completely hopeless (and she improved a lot after a short run in Stardom) but it's clear the desire isn't really there. Her legacy in wrestling is going to be a "what if" more than anything."

[6.0] "Great look, good on promos, improving in the ring. She puts her all into her matches, even if the results are a bit uneven. The Tag Division could be a good place for her."

[6.0] "She has improved her in ring work and promo skills overtime, but she still can be slow at times. She works very well with Tay Melo and i can see them becoming the inaugural AEW Women's World Tag Team Champions. I hope Anna will be given a chance."

[2.0] "Anna Jay is bad. AEW has continually tried to push her but have failed every time, and it's cause she simply can't wrestle. I thought the stardom excursion helped a little bit, but she has regressed since coming back. One of the worst characters in wrestling. It's 2025, we are way past the need for a women's wrestlers entire gimmick being how fat her ass is. Her promos are bad as well. It's time to take her off TV, send her to ROH or something idk anymore. Hope is probably lost on Anna ever being more than an enhancement talent."

[2.0] "She's very pretty.. Not a good wrestler though. Very slow in the ring, not physically strong and her move-set is too basic. Very few of those hired based on their looks only showed immense improvement (e.g. Trish Stratus). While she seems to care enough, as she competed in hardcore matches and took some serious bumps, she still is a below average wrestler. Her time in Japan didn't help her improve either."

[7.0] "She's pretty good at fundamentals, can work pretty good. She's very attractive and not that bad on the mic although not good either. I think the only thing weighing her down is that she's not a top level performer and she's a bit slower than the more athletic women in AEW."

[2.0] "Let's face the harsh reality, if she didn't look the way she did, her contract would've been allowed to run out. For someone with 5 years of experience she should be much further along than she is. She's still very young so there's hope but she's so slow in the ring. I don't think it's because she's unathletic, it's because she has poor timing and is unsure of herself. Her best match was a tag team hardcore brawl and while it was indeed a good match, that's not going to convince people you're good."

[10.0] "Anna Jay has all the potential in the world. I can easily see her as the women's champion or tbs champion. I also like the chemistry between her and Harley Cameron. I love this tag team and they work very well as a tag team. Anna has continued to grow and evolve every year. She was first in the dark order then she joined Jericho's faction and she's been in tag teams with Tay Melo and now Harley Cameron. My favourite singles match was her match with Mariah May and I also enjoyed her matches with Penelope Ford"

[5.0] "I like Anna. She has a fantastic look and can be fun as the straight man with a more bombastic tag partner. Hard to say she doesn't need seasoning in the ring still tho, and at the rate she's progressing idk if she's ever going to reach that upper tier. Her character work feels stilted much of the time as well."

She's still quite young and has all the tools to be a top champ, not to mention her ability to play up different styles of character work. Her Anna A.S. stuff was a blast! Loved the unhinged promos! [6.0] "I'm an Anna Jay fan and I'm excited about her future but I have to evaluate her fairly as of today. 5 years in and Anna Jay still feels like a project for AEW. But how much development can you expect with only 137 matches in that time. Yes she had an injury but she also just has been used sparingly in AEW. Meanwhile, look how much she improved after just 8 matches in Stardom. I wish she would lay in those strikes harder. The good news is she's still only 26 so she's got tons of time on her side. If she had any interested in doing an extended excursion in Stardom and really learning their style I think she'd be unreal. Her look is a 10/10, not just from an aesthetics POV but she's tall and feels big enough to be in there with the Jamie Hayter's and Kris Statlander's of the world. And she damn near looked like WALTER next to some of her opponents in Stardom. She hasn't truly found her character yet but there's been some good chipping away at that process from being in the Dark Order, part of TayJay, and part of the Jericho Appreciation Society. Anna Jay's facials are brilliant. She has a great "warrior's cry" yell but probably needs to be more calculated for when she uses it as when she does it at the wrong time, if the fans don't react it feels awkward. Her gear is always top notch. I feel like all AEW fans are rooting for her. We want to see her succeed. And having wrestling fans wanting to see you level up and achieve big things is important."

Anna's recent 4 vs 4 tag eliminator match in NJPW was also worth checking out, as she had a lot of great moments there, too. Very excited for Anna Jay's 2025. I'm predicting some gold! ?"

[7.0] "I feel that after her tour in Japan in Stardom, Anna came to AEW with more progress and more skills in the ring, she learned very well and also looks more confident in the ring."

[9.0] "Anna Jay has greatly improved as an in-ring competitor during the past year. Case in point: her recent matches against both Mariah May and Mercedes Mone. If she continues to put in the work, it won't be long until she finally wins a championship in AEW. Time to give her credit where credit is due."

[7.0] "Until a few months ago I would not have expected to give her such a high rate (actually I would not have expected to give her more than 4 lel), but since the period in Stardom she has made some clear improvements, improved her ring skills, finally seems to have a personality in the ring and out of the ring, manages to look like a valid contender, and can withstand the confrontation in the ring with opponents, I am very happy with the improvements that had (especially from the point of view of the in ring work) because she is a girl who has always tried to strive for improvement, and thanks to Stardom she succeeded in this feat (a bit like Perry thanks to NJPW), her brief stint in Stardom was enjoyable with some nice encounters, her return to AEW is now good, I really liked the feud and their matches with Mariah May and the match with Mercedes. I hope she can win a title in the future at AEW, and I hope her 2025 is on par with last months."

[6.0] "She's getting really good in the ring since her run in Japan. I loved her NDQ match against Mariah May."

[1.0] "First time seeing her was in Stardom as i'm a Stardom fan and god she is AWFUL. I'm not even sure how AEW, or their fans, can even lie to themselves and say that she was good or she improved because she really sucked. It's a shame she took a 5 Star GP spot away that a Stardom wrestler could've had, i think we could've gone without seeing her do moves at the speed of a snail."

[3.0] "Look - 7, In Ring - 1, On the Mic - 0. Anna Jay never seemed to improve in the 5 years she's had to show why she deserved something more. She was an interesting personality who during the JAS days was terrible on mic with her pseudo-crazy moments of attacking random people that looked as poor as her in ring work. I'd like to believe she still has a chance to get better, but I am not counting on it. She should be viewed as the ultimate negative against Brian Last's eye for talent, who for some reason continues to sing praises on her despite being overly critical of people with 100 times the ability."

[10.0] "Anna Jay has so much potential, If she can hang in a few months or maybe one year in Stardom it would be great! It would give her the experience sshe needs, and the reps necessary so she can come back a totally different wrestler. I think she will become one great star in the future, if given the opportunity, and a multi-time women's world champion once she comes back to the US wrestling scene. For now, let her stay in Japan, if she wishes, because she isn't being used right now, and it would be a win/win situation for everyone."

[8.0] "My personal pick for most improved wrestler in 2024 so far. Since coming back from injury she has had some great matches looks a lot smoother in the ring as well. I think keeping up at this pace, put her on excursion to stardom/TJPW she could become one of the best in the world."

[7.0] "Anna Jay has improved significantly in 2024 and is quietly one of the most reliable wrestlers in the division."

[7.0] "Anna Jay is still very young and improving in the ring. Since debuting in AEW she has put on some good matches and has improved on the mic and playing a character. Working with wrestlers like Brodie Lee and Jericho seemed to have helped her greatly along with matches with better competitors. Still has a lot of room to improve but has shown she has the potential to do it. UPDATE: She has continued to improve greatly in the ring and she could definitely be a featured player on AEW TV."

[4.0] "Anna Jay is really young so she has room for improvement but she's not good at all, she's really really average most of the time she wrestles. Her movements are really slow and most things she tries is clunky, sloppy and looks like someone who begins a couple of months ago which is pretty bothering given the fact she has 4 years of experience. The worst thing about Anna Jay is her acting, she exaggerates and her "I will choke you out" cringe gimmick proves that. She's young so whe can improve but so far she's not good."

[3.0] "Not a good wrestler, I have the feeling that every time she is in a match it's the worst match of the opponent's career. Pretty boring matches and nothing interesting in her character. I think in a tag wrestler she may work better but she's definitely a very limited worker."

[8.0] "I literally love Anna so much. She's a pretty decent wrestler, can deliver on the mic, and has good charisma and character work. However, Tony Khan hasn't given her enough chances to shine which I think is holding her back a lot. If her booking gets better then I think people will start realizing that she's not all looks and is actually an amazing talent."

"She's absolutely gorgeous looking, but she's way below par when it comes to wrestling ability. She's still very young so she has time to develop and improve. Would probably be better as a valet right now. The standard in women's wrestling in America has improved so much in the past 10 years. Anna will need to work to get anywhere near that level."

[4.0] "She's there, she only has 3 years of experience but as an international wrestler she's not really that great"

[4.0] "Not impressed by her work at all. Bad in ring, and now with HoB she is just standing in goofy hat and not doing anything interesting"

[5.0] "Anna is still very young in the wrestling world so I don't want to be too harsh because theres still alot of time to improve. At the moment Anna is not really a standout on the womens roster and her wrestling and promo skills leave plenty to be desired, but hopefully they improve with time."

[5.0] "She's improved a lot in the last year or so in the ring. Her moves look more crisp, and she's more confident in what she's doing. She also randomly busts out amazing deathmatches every year or so in AEW. One big problem with her is that she's still extremely wooden on the mic. If she can fix that, then she can take the next step towards respectability."

[6.0] "Shes hot and is good at smiling and looks good in outfits. Pretty good in ring for how inexperienced she is."

[7.0] "The heel turn did a lot of good for Anna. But she's pretty much overshadowed on the roster. I hope that changes. It would be ideal to create a tag team title for her and Tay to get back to their prime. Both have plenty of potential, they just need help from booking"

[7.0] "Honestly, I originally had Anna Jay at a 6 not too long ago, but I really feel like she's improved into becoming a good enough package. I really like Anna, and I sincerely believe that she still has plenty of potential since she's only 24 years old. Her mic skills are just now improving into the average range. She possesses some charisma too; so that objectively puts Anna within the 7 range for now. She can easily improve even more as an all-around performer within the next few years. Anna being super hot is just a bonus going for her. Hopefully, Anna continues to develop even more as an all-around talent while being part of JAS. After all, she has at least a decade of wrestling left in her career."

[3.0] "After the tag team street fight that her and Tay had against The Bunny and Penelope Ford, she had been lost for almost the rest of the year doing nothing, she is a better wrestler than Tay imo, she joining to JAS was a terrible idea, because she is now paired with the go away heat magnet that is Sammy and Tay"

[7.0] "Anna is really endearing to me as a talent. She's naturally extremely gorgeous and could act or model very easily, but she's very committed to pro wrestling and you can see how much effort she puts into her work. Having only just hit three years as a pro, with a good amount of that on national TV working with relatively veteran talent, I think she's treaded water very well and you can see the improvement over time, as well as had a handful of solid matches and one great one in that Tag Team Street Fight. While it's clear the company had Cargill slated as a star for the future, Anna Jay is also going to be something special in a matter of 2-3 more years, and at only 24 she has a long career ahead of her where things can only go up. Anna JayAS is a super corny heel gimmick but her choking out staff like she's insane 90s WWF Bob Backlund and getting to work with Tay as a team again (they have natural chemistry) is worth it. This is a goodwill 7 because while her talent is in the 5-6 range, you know that she's going to reach that 7 sooner than later."

[6.0] "I would probably have her at a five but her 'choke you out' one-dimensional heel persona is hilarious."

[6.0] "She's got potential and is still very young and new to wrestling. She has a great look and solid character work and given enough time, she could be a complete superstar. I have been impressed with how improved she has become in the ring, though she still has a long ways to go. I think her future is very bright and she could even be the face of the women's division in time."

[5.0] "She like, just started wrestling so this rating will change over the course of her career, but I don't think that she's all that great. Not terrible by any means. Much more of a project."

[4.0] "I do not understand how Anna Jay has a much higher rating than Jade Cargill. In-ring wise they are both lacking experience and are basically on a similar level. However Jade has a lot more charisma."

[4.0] "She has a good look and some sort of charisma but she still has a long way to go. Not very convincing on offense - especially next to Tay Conti who outshines her greatly on that aspect - or on the mic. Still very young though."

[4.0] "Despite being one of the many green, sloppy, and unnatural wrestlers on the AEW women's roster, Anna benefits from an attractive look and an endearing personality due to the fact that she clearly tries hard in spite of her shortcomings. She's been assisted in getting over by getting grouped with The Dark Order, making for a really entertaining contrast of her being this conventionally beautiful person alongside a bunch of grimy and goofy wannabe goths. She's also pretty endearing as the tag team partner and friend of Tay Conti, and it was a good idea to pair them up and likewise help Anna win crowds over via Conti's own popularity. I don't foresee Anna becoming any kind of star, but she's decent enough as the out-of-her-depth babyface who will always put up a fight, even if it's a sloppy one. At least she's only 2 years into her career, and ideally with nowhere for her in-ring work to go but up. If she can find a unique style that works for her and generally improve her athleticism then she might be able to become a good worker. Her offence has admittedly been improving the last few months, but it still has a way to go before being decent, and her wrestling fundamentals are still pretty underwhelming. For now, if I'm being a bit generous, she's a just below average."

[7.0] "I agree with many others who have rated Anna. Considering her level of experience, she is a solid wrestler. Even better, Anna is more beautiful than the vast majority of WWE and AEW women wrestlers. Congratulations, Anna, you have a bright career ahead of you."

[3.0] "Besides being attractive she is still very green and a bit Diva-esque in the ring. Bit wooden on the mic too. She remains in the shadow of fast improving Tay Conti, but I think in time she'll get better with more experience. AEW having vets like Deeb and Martinez are assets to developing the division."

[6.0] "A lot of potential for her little experience. She's improving and can be one of the top girls for AEW for years to come."

[2.0] "Yeah, no, Anna Jay's definitely not a worthwhile investment for AEW. Can't wrestle worth a damn, no in-ring IQ, has a boring look, and has no charisma. Maybe AEW could've signed her a few years down the line when she actually would potentially improve since she's relatively green, but right now, I don't see much potential with what I've seen thus far."
