Alex Coughlin

[7.0] "If he didn't retire I would still love his now famous promo but in the wake it's become possibly my all time favorite. He had a great look and was a very good wrestler who was a little light on personality and charisma until that promo."

[7.0] "Damn shame that coughlin retired this damn early, he had the looks and potential, but the problem was the matches he wrestled in were very underwhelming and didn't struck out as much. He can be strong as hell but that doesn't include the fact that Alex was a bit green and looked a bit lost but he did try his best so there is no denying he tried"

[9.0] "He's always gonna be a big "what if? " in wrestling for me due to his premature retirement. Coughlin was fantastic, his G1 33 press conference promo is incredible, and he was putting the pieces together in the ring. Coughlin would have been huge, and I'm always sad he's retired, it sucks when injuries ruin a career like that."

[6.0] "With a great look and great intensity, I felt like coughlin had a ton of potential. From the little that he was in ring I always thought he looked solid and was even decent on the decent the mic. It sucks he retired when he did as it was right before the war dogs took off to even more and I was excited to see what he could have done and achieved."

"His G1 promo is one of my favorites of all time. Alex had the look. Could go. I believed everything he said and did. It is an absolute shame that he had to retire due to his neck, especially when it looked like he had big things on the horizon."

"Will go down as one of the biggest what-ifs in the history of the sport. Injuries ended this mans career far too soon. Going out with the War Dogs United Empire Steel Cage match is a hell of a way to go out, much thanks for the entertainment dreadnaught."

[7.0] "Honestly Coughlin had a ton of potential as he had all the skills. In the ring he had a great move set and he consistently put on good matches. He was good on the mic and had charisma. Unfortunately injuries ended his career before he reached his full potential."

[8.0] "You know what? The strongman aura that Alex oozes is tremendously amazing. Along with a chip on his shoulder of having to be an obedient pupil for too long, now he holds nothing back and shows extremely brutal force with powerlifting moves and adrenaline running momentum. Plus, being in the Bullet Club, he's showing he's the serious big brother of the Wardogs, while Gabe is the troublemaking little brother, Connors is the overconfident country cousin and Moloney is their friend out of town freshly out of a reformatory. (Edit): Sadly, he retired due to a neck injury, but I think it is way more than that. If you guys watch his G1 press conference statement, you can feel the frustration when he mentions the restrictions and limits NJPW puts upon the wrestlers. And I agree with him, he had plenty of potencial wasted, put upon a generic booking routine, and thanks to a huge shit booking that cost his health, he finally decided to rest. Thank you for everything, Alex!"

[8.0] "Absolute god damn shame this man had to retire so early. After watching the New Japan War Games match, I was certain Alex Coughlin was the next big thing. I remember thinking, "If people were able to invest in wrestlers, I would invest everything on Alex Coughlin." He has the look, the skills, and the intensity. God damn shame, but in professional wrestling, never say never"

[6.0] "This guy had a genuine potential, he was really interesting inside the ring, he had an impressive look and a lot of charisma but unfortunately an injury can cut short your career, it was unfortunately the case for Alex Coughlin. He had an interesting wrestling style mixed with power and technique with some great suplexes and also knew how to hit hard. He can't give him more than a 6, he never reached his full potential (which is logical given he had to retire early) and never got the break out singles performance, it would have happened this year if it wasn't for his injury. I'am sad to learn that he's retiring, i liked him."

[8.0] "Very sad that he retired at only 30. He had great potential but unfortunately an injury can ruin careers very early. I would just like to say that for me he was a good wrestler, he could even have been a big name at NJPW. His arrival in BC had made his career so fresh. Thank you for everything and who knows... maybe a return one day. But let him rest mostly."

[7.0] "After the G1 Climax 33 we have a better idea of where he's at right now. He has a lot of potential, he's a good tag team wrestler and solid in singles matches although he can still feel a little bit green at times. Didn't always have the best showings but can find his place in the New Japan roster and in this new heel role. He always felt like a guy who could be a great babyface but he's doing good as a heel. Had some good promos too. A good powerful wrestler that can only get better with time."

[8.0] "Coughlin's great. He's not at his peak yet, he has only been wrestling for 5 years, but I very much could see him in a very strong role for NJPW going forward. Could absolutely be a top gaijin with a little more time. Can cut a good, even great promo every now and then but does still need some work in that department."

[7.0] "I have seen him compete a little , but he is easily one of the strongest wrestlers today pound per pound. Also rocks a good mustache. Lacks charisma"

[5.0] "wanna see him do more than LA Dojo boy, maybe i will see him in G1 Climax soon and he gonna show me what he got"

[8.0] "At the moment Coughlin still has a lot of untapped potential, as he's not that long into his career. Looked pretty good as a Young Lion and isn't bad at all now."

[8.0] "Lot of promise from Coughlin. Dude is exceedingly strong, has a great look, and can rile up a crowd like no tomorrow. Some of his work between the ropes could be a tad smoother but considering how new he is and how much potential he has, that can be easily overlooked. Excited to see where this guy goes, could be a fantastic mid card/upper mid carder for New Japan in the future. Can absolutely see him holding the NEVER Openweight belt"

[9.0] "He's good, no, he's more than good he has a lot of future and he could be one of the best in some years"

[6.0] "Not as good as Connors or Fredericks but I like his more traditional strongman feel and his fundamentals are good as you'd expect."

[6.0] "Coughlin is getting pretty consistently overshadowed by his LA Dojo classmates but he's still quite innately talented and has the potential to become a star."

[7.0] "Alex has a lot of potential, he has good ground game and is capable of doing powerhouse moves out of nowhere. I'm excited to see where he ends up once he graduates."
