"One of the best extreme hardcore guys to ever lace up the boots. Colon is a modern DM guy. He may have stepped away for a bit but he can turn it on where's ever he's keen to."

[3.0] "At one point, Colon showed some promise and was even a Best of the Best Winner but along the way something happened and he got into deathmatch wrestling. He was never going to be a star, but it felt like he accepted his peak was always going to be an undercard indy wrestler for life and saw deathmatch wrestling as his path to main event stardom. I guess he does the deathmatch schtick well, but as an actual in-ring worker he never grew beyond "serviceable match." He found his lane, but it's not a lane that produces anything long-lasting or memorable."

[8.0] "One of the best independent wrestlers in America right now, deathmatch or not. He's been a bit overpushed with his NGI win after the three back-to-back TOS wins and has maybe suffered a bit with some questionable booking decisions in his recent John Wayne Murdoch feud in GCW, but he's got the in-ring skills, promo ability and charisma to justify always being put in such a high position on the card. He's got a great sense of psychology in his deathmatches and is more than capable of having a great standard wrestling match with most workers. His recent outings in the UK and Australia have only added credibility to him being one of the very best deathmatch wrestlers in the world."

[10.0] "Alex Colon is one of my favorite deathmatch wrestlers that is active today, I will never forget Alex Colon coming up to Minnesota for Timebomb Pro Wrestling and having one of the best deathmatches I have ever seen live against Orin Veidt, Colon always kills it everywhere he goes and always puts on high quality matches."

[10.0] "I really try to stay away from hyperbole when describing wrestling, especially in the modern day when so much wrestling is forgettable. But I have been watching Alex Colon wrestle for around 12 years and cannot think of a time when he did not have an entertaining match with smash mouth offense and excellent psychology. Go back to his days as a curtain jerker/mid-carder in the CZW junior and TV divisions, he has so many hidden gems that are not as well known in indie wrestling as his current work. Transitions and the flow of his matches always appear seamless. Come to the present, he has elevated himself from the low-card super indie style into what many people, including Nick Gage, consider to be among the greatest of all time. Deathmatch wrestling often has its detractors, typically because the viewer believes it to be violent for the sake of violence, not real wrestling or what have you. Watch an Alex Colon hardcore/deathmatch and you will find a new appreciation for the style. His run in Tournament of Survival 6 is widely considered to be among the best deathmatch performances ever, even by his peers. His early career run was superb, and up until a few years ago he was somewhat underrated by a majority of fans, but as others have pointed out people have finally taken notice as to just how good he is. We will look back on his deathmatch run from his feuds with Danny Havoc to his instant classic with Jun Kasai and Atticus Cogar as the stuff of legends. What else can you ask from a wrestler than a match with logical progression and edge-of-your-seat action that keeps you guessing until the final bell? Colon does all of this. Few moments will ever be able to top his threepeat of TOS. The energy was electric."

[10.0] "Two years ago I said Colon was underrated and undervalued. I still maintain he deserves a title run in one of the big deathmatch companies (GCW has given him a belt but he needs to win the main belt) but now everyone recognizes how good Colon is. The threepeat is something that will go down in indie wrestling legends."

[9.0] "One of the best deathmatch wrestlers in the world. Years ago was in CZW and was alright, but improved a lot, become a great tag team wrestler with Dustin Ray in Rockstar Pro and other places. Went out on his own and started doing the deathmatch style and has really excelled at it. He had a lot of really great deathmatches in GCW and has even been popular in their trip to Japan. He won GCW Tournament of Survival 4 and GCW Tournament of Survival 5. Now he is known as possibly the best American deathmatch wrestler. He has just become so great at the style. Good on the mic and skilled in the ring as well. He is able to wrestler a really good technical match with just about anyone and throw in some violence with it."
