It made sense for the story of Randy being the veteran, moreover with them being in Berlin, a more pro-Gunther crowd. Nearly 35 minutes of two men having a proper wrestling match with great psychology, it felt like an old-school wrestling match. A great World Heavyweight title match, and just the beginning of what's sure to be an epic reign for The Ring General. (****1/4) |

Great workers are those who are able to put on a show where you can suspend disbelief and believe what you're seeing is real. The same way a great actor makes you believe the performance is real and these two are absolute masters of this craft. No flying all over the mat, no stupid gymnastic spots, no finisher fest, just 2 professional beating each other up and trying to out wrestle one another. This match right here makes sense. This is what professional wrestling is all about. Every move has a purpose, whether it's working on a body part or simply trying to pin your opponent down to the mat to get the 3 count. One of the best matches of the year and a great professional wrestling match in front of a great crowd. This is what world heavy weight title matches should look like. Hats off to these two. 4.25* |
