Gauntlet Match 2003

[5.0] "TNA Gauntlet matches just don't hit the same way. They seem bush league, but Raven got the win and has a shot to face AJ Styles for the title now. Shane Douglas got beat and all is right with the world...I guess."

[5.0] "The first part of this match was decent, but it was hurt by the final two being Douglas and Raven. I get that they want to keep that feud going, but Douglas is incredibly boring. It robbed the conclusion of any excitement, especially given that AJ holds the title, so Douglas wasn't winning."

[5.0] "I don't know why this is separated from the battle royal, as they are both the same match, just as the usual Gauntlet for the Gold. The battle royal wasn't great, but it had some cool moments, such as Abyss cleaning house (eliminating Kid Kash) or D-Lo beating Siaki. Also I liked that Jarrett's theme played but that he didn't enter the match, as he was kidnaped by Russo. The bloody Raven is a great babyface. In the end, Raven and Shane Douglas remain and they have a short match. I liked Douglas facial expression when he had to fight Raven. In the end, Raven counters the belly to belly into the Raven Effect and wins the match. Raven is the first contender to the NWA heavyweight title and he will face AJ Styles next week, it should be good."
