[7.0] "[3.5*] The match itself was good but the best thing about this segment was the turnaround on the storyline when everyone thought MJF would turn but he proved his loyalty (until for now) on the lowest of lows. Great storytelling to end a really great show. I loved it."

[7.0] "AEW has made a reputation for itself as the home of great tag team wrestling, and this match definitely fed into that perception The action was high-energy and the near-falls were convincing. There was a few moments when it felt like MJF and Cole were going to win and the crowd was buying into it."

[8.0] "Competing chants before the match even starts for FTR and double clothesline. Just shows how well this has been booked without much other than good decent booking. Given about 20 minutes to bring the show home. Starts out with good intensity, MJF teases a fake calf injury with Cole coming over to look concerned, also teases kicking Daxs nuts in. Fun slapping match between MJF and Dax to sell more intensity and a brawl out. FTR continues to show how adept they are at tag team wrestling, good basic wrestling match with Cole waiting to make hot tag. Cole and MJF hit Dax with everything, couple of close calls as MJF and Cole continue to tease double clothesline. FTR is good at tag team wrestling, who knew. Incredible pacing to the match, fitting 40 minutes worth of fighting into 20 minutes. Nice spot where Harwood voluntarily lets Cole go to let him tag in MJF. MJF does some incredibly smooth reversals and transitions with Dax. MJF finally gets the kick in the nuts on Dax hed been trying for earlier in the match. MJF gets pinned after saving Cole from the shatter machine, reversing into the heat seeker, and then getting rolled up from behind. Cole shakes FTRs hands after the match as MJF cries in the corner of the ring. MJF teases turning on Adam Cole after the match but throws away the belt after debating hitting him. They hug after the match to a huge pop from the crowd. 8/10 mostly because it was a well built up match that made people care. Not the best match of anyone's career, but a super solid story told and a fun title defense for FTR."

I've been down on Adam Cole for years, but this storyline with MJF has been his best work in YEARS. Cole was definitely the 4th best worker in this match but he gave a solid performance this time around. ***3/4"

[8.0] "One of the best storylines in all of professional wrestling reached what very well could have been its climax in the form of an AEW World Tag Team Title match against FTR. Instead, it only strengthened the story. That alone is reason for praise. The match itself was great, with the Double Clothesline story being important, but not overshadowing how badly Adam Cole and MJF wanted to become champions. Unfortunately, one of the few bonds stronger than theirs happens to be the one of the champions. Four fantastic storytellers doing what they do best and delivering a tale with ebbs, flows, and emotion. Plus, a hot crowd. Cannot ask for much more than that. 4 stars, 8 out of 10. A great match and a captivating ride."

MJF actually doing something selfless by pushing Cole out of the way of the Shatter Machine, only to lose and feel like he let Cole down was great. This is such a fantastic story and I'm really looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds."

Usually, I'm not keen on these storylines because the answer is always no. But YES THEY CAN COEXIST and AEW proves it. The Bromance of the Summer continues and it's great ! Just give to the fans what they want, and it can work."

MJF got rolled up by DAX fot FTR to win, with MJF not turning on Cole. 7.75 out of 10. ***3/4"

[8.0] ""The bromance of the summer" (as the announcers call it) continues as MJF/Cole have a banger of a match against FTR. This was a great mix of comedy and wrestling with everyone getting their chance to shine. MJF/Cole might be the best storyline of the summer but it's probably for the best that FTR retained their status as the best tag team in the company. Great stuff, looking forward to seeing how the storyline continues to play out. ****"

[9.0] "MJF's way of working as a disingenuous face while keeping all of his heel tactics in a way that makes sense in the moment to both Cole and the crowd is incredible. FTR can do no wrong in a straight tag match, so combine them with the best angle going on right now and you get magic. The builds to BTYBB's tags were great every time, with the Max vs Dax stuff being great stuff in its own right that lead to an awesome allowed tag from Dax to get at Max. Of course MJF can get the crowd invested in a Double Clothesline and pop for a low blow as a near fall. I still think z Cole isn't a good worker but he played his role well here, especially in the aftermath; best Cole match in years honestly. Awesome TV main to extend a great angle and a great title reign. ****1/4"

The action throughout was really strong, and the crowd ate up everything they did in this match, and those near-falls really had them going crazy. MJF saving Cole from the Shatter Machine was a nice moment, but that ultimately ended up costing them the match, as MJF got rolled up shortly after.****"

[10.0] "I love MJF and I love FTR, but I am very much not a fan of Adam Cole so on paper I might have had mixed feelings about this match. However, AEW (and MJF in particular) have done such a spectacular job with this current storyline that I was feeling fully hyped for this, not only curious to see the action but excited to see what would happen next in the story. That's a great thing to accomplish in this cynical, seen it all age! The match itself was extremely good as we hoped, the story was heavily featured and the heated bitter fight between MJF and Dax made me hope to see a singles match between them in the near future. In the end we did not see any twist during the match, which I think was a fine choice. Adam Cole almost derailed the post match for me with his weird "Do what you have to do! " comments, but MJF's legitimately great acting pulled it back around and made it a huge hit as he struggled with what to do next and ultimately embraced Cole. Will he still betray his new friend in the end? I think probably yes but I like that they are drawing out the story further since it's so over and it feels like there is more gas in the tank. Excited again to see what happens next."

[8.0] "This match was more about the post match than it was about the actual match itself. Now, the match was a very good 18 minute TV tag team match, don't me wrong. All the performers were great but it was the swerve after the match that people will remember. The visual of MJF being legitimately distraught that he cost he and Cole the match and the titles and then NOT turning on Cole and them hugging it out is what people will remember. I'm glad they went this route because this odd couple pairing of Cole/MJF and the story of their budding friendship is one of the best things going currently."

[9.0] "This is all completely ridiculous and I shamelessly loved it. Enough room exists in my heart for both serious pro-wrestling, and whatever this Cole/MJF bromance is. In a lot of ways, its both American approaches to wrestling intersecting in one match, as the overly stoic FTR constantly thwart the silly-but-popular ambitions of a double-clothesline spot, and MJF's (eventually successful) inexplicable obsession with delivering a ballshot to Dax. The crowd loved all of this, and there were some huge near falls stemming from the superkick/piledriver combo, the FTR Power & Glory tribute spot, and the aforementioned Shattered Dreams. In the end, MJF pushed his Maybe-Genuine-Pal out of the way of the Shatter Machine, only to take the sudden roll-up loss. And then we get the grandiose, pro-wrestling Moment of Truth, where the seemingly inevitable betrayal is averted (at least for now) as the always precarious concept of Pro-Wrestling Friendship lives to fight another day. Only dings against the match are the unfortunate-but-necessary TV-standard formula of needing at least one commercial break in the middle, and the end sequence seeming a little clumsy in real time, as it wasn't instantly apparent if MJF had actually blocked the Shatter Machine, or just botched taking it. Regardless, enjoyable stuff."

Cole and MJF was a thing no one saw coming, they are fun and have a awesome chemistry together, AEW should keep they together for a while, the public is loving it. **** to me."

My only negative being the ending and also the fact that there was nothing after the match, it was strange booking. The opener was better."

[6.0] "[ 3.25/5 ] This match, though beautifully built to was somewhat disappointing to me. It didn't feel like they got the most out of the 17 minutes they were given. Lots of near falls but none of them really captured me outside maybe two towards the end. It just didn't exactly feel like it ever kicked into full gear, and the ending was quite abrupt and unsatisfactory. Having it go just a bit longer after MJF evaded FTR's finish I think would've made me enjoy this one more. It was only about just before it ended that I really got into it. Nonetheless, MJF and Adam Cole have been a joy to watch. And their shticks together are great. And storytelling really carried this match. While I didn't really get too hyped up during it, I'm eagerly waiting to see what happens next after that post-match angle! A follow-up could be greatly improved upon from here."

[7.0] "Interesting dynamic with the babyface and heel roles getting flipped but it worked really well because FTR work best as heels and it ultimately played into the finish which will allow them to go back to this down the line. I'm glad they didn't split up Cole and MJF here because it's really caught fire and a run with the tag titles would be a good move I think. Really good work all round here with Cash's psychology and timing especially being impeccable. Started slow with a lot of character work but the final stretch was really hot."

[8.0] "What an amazing tag team match! The start was maybe a little too slow but it worked to play with the crowd and bring them into the match. Adam Cole and MJF together were great here as always, maybe the Double Clothesline shout is a little too exaggerated but I think that it is the purpose of it. FTR proving why they are the best tag team in the world with another banger of a match. The only drawbacks were maybe some 2 counts too much near the 3 where FTR kicked out a little too late it seemed, but apart from that the finishing sequence was great and the post-match was very very well done for the build-up between the two defeated. Next week FTR vs Cage and Bill, WTF? What was the tournament win for then? (lol). Anyway a solid **** for me."

[10.0] "Booo this team Boooo, I was starting to sour on FTR a long time ago and Cole/MJF have won me over, my only problem with it is that MJF is the F'ing world champ but sod it, it's fun, and as much as I don't think FTR are the best team in the world, they're still a top team, but the wrestling was almost secondary in this match, all this match was about is MJF and Cole's journey as a team and how monster over they got as an act, from an in ring stand point this match probably wasn't a 10, it was good but not ground breaking, but it was one of the funnest matches to watch of the year"

[10.0] "The wrestling was on point but what makes it a must see is obviously the chemistry between MJF and Adam Cole. FTR proves once again they are maybe the best tag team in the world, Adam Cole looks so cool here, with some crazy superkicks counter and accuracy. I loved the finish with MJF "taking the bullet" for his friend, but still managed to counter the Shatter Machine only to get pinned by a roll up (and by Dax on top of that) The match itself is like a 4+ stars but what they did after the match was excellent and that's why I rate this a perfect 10, at least for a main event weekly."

[9.0] "Very good match for which I hoped they would get more time. * * * * 1/4 The finish was a shocking roll up to MJF, what? ! And they even didn't hit the Double Clothesline. Thankfully Adam and Max didn't break up just now. Curious in which direction they go, especially with Chicago Phil's chosen words earlier in the show. Though I hope to see the rematch in Wembley which could lead a possible 3 way at All Out?"

[8.0] "Mjf and Adam Cole are one of hottest things in wrestling right now and they proved it once again tonight with a great perfomance against Ftr: wasn't a huge fan of the beginning with the various attempets to "bash Harwood's nuts" but after a good brawl outside of the ring the match gets much better. Mjf had a great hot tag for Adam Cole who delivered a great comeback. The combo superkick/tombstone was sick as well as the exchanges between Mjf and Harwood. The ending was great, too with the opportunity to have a rematch in the future because, surprisingly, in the post-match Mjf didn't turn on Cole. The moment when they hugged each other was amazing. 8/10 - 4.25*/5*"

The World's Champion covered for the first time for the three in a while, the same night where Punk unveiled what was "in the bag". Not to mention the post match was surprisingly unpredictable! Well done to all the men in this match."
