[7.0] "This ended being the match that gave us Bang Bang Gang so props for that. Just like the week before, Juice does most of the work for the heel team and Cash enters the match with insane high-energy. It's an up for this match that they did not rely in very long holds and rests, having an extra member in each team helped the pacing of the match and they made sure to not turn it in a chaotic mess. Jay and Punk got a sweet sequence and both teams almost brawling outside was mad fun. The heel work by BC Gold was on point, Jay was compromised to ragebaiting lmao and Ricky got a nice hot tag, the vision was clear with making him the star, to the point the rest of the team didn't shine as much as they could, FTR still managed to do a lot with so little tho. Crowd creaming their pants for Punk when he was not even in action annoyed me a little bit. Length of the match still a problem for me but this one was better for sure."

[7.0] "The heel work by the Gunns and Bullet Club Gold in this match was brillant in this match and for the second week in a row Robinson & White were the Mvps of the match. The babyfaces had a couple of good comebacks, especially the Ricky Starks's one. The closing stretch and ending were excellent. I prefered last week's main event but this was also very enjoyable despite being a bit too long. Punk looks in great shape and I can't wait to see him wrestle against Jay White. Also the crowd was on fire, one of the loudest crowds this year. 7/10 - 3.75*/5*"

Jay White gave Punk a run for his money. I do wish that FTR, and especially Dax, would have gotten a larger role in this one."

[8.0] "Didn't expect to like this one as much as the tag the previous week but this one might be even better. The Joe/Punk interactions from the other tag were super fun but Jay and Punk got a lot more time working together in this one and it makes me sad we'll never get the singles. Juice was really fun in this, the Gunns didn't feel out of place at any point, FTR is most fun working with Punk for me and Ricky as the most over guy in the match getting that hot tag was so good. Some of the best heel heat work I've seen in a tag too, it went on for quite a while but the hope spots Punk would get and the way they worked the crowd was fantastic. The 20 or so seconds of silence from commentary while the "Lets go Switchblade, CM Punk" chants got louder was beautiful. Punk getting his ribs and leg targeted and Jay working over both to stop the hot tag attempts were perfect, might be Jay's best performance in AEW. Everything after Ricky's hot tag was worked at a fast pace, Cash's dive near the end was glorious and the heels getting the win after Punk got his triumphant return win the previous week made perfect sense - ****1/4"

This was good, old fashioned multi man chaotic action, but importantly it was also structured so as to not be overly chaotic. Good effort from all. ****"

BCG were the true stars of this match, not even because of their in-ring work, but all of the antics they were pulling throughout the match. ****1/4"

[7.0] "The crowd was incredibly vocal throughout the entire match. Both teams were being booed and cheered depending on who was in the ring at any given time, so it was hard to tell if either side had more support than the other. This was a fun match, but the crowd's strong reactions to Punk were distracting at times. Everyone did a good job playing their part, so the majority of what we saw was solid. Punk was definitely embracing some of the boos he was getting, but his team was still clearly working on the babyface side. In fact, the crowd made an effort to only boo Punk when he was the legal man, so the rest of his team still got positive reactions."

[6.0] "This was a good match that was stretched far above the length it should've been, resulting in a big decrease in quality. Everyone brought something fun here. The Gunns had their detestably arrogant displays and their energetic heel-selling, Jay had his dastardly tactics and power beatdown work, Juice had his wildly charismatic character work, FTR had their usual fun 'old school' style and pacing (with Cash being the clear standout of the team with his few immensely energetic attacks, especially whenever he took to the air), Starks was the loveably charismatic babyface with good energy in all his movements and attacks, and even the ever unathletic and unconvincing Punk at least gave the match an interesting edge via the immensely torn crowd reactions he brought every time he stepped in the ring. While not even here was equal in their performances, everyone still displayed solid-to-good work, but it was the match going nearly 25 minutes that caused the match to lose its spark during certain segments, especially during Punk's failed face-in-peril segment ("failed" because Punk wasn't at all sympathetic, especially in front of the somewhat hostile crowd, plus his 'big' comeback was completely forgettable and also a bit uncoordinated). I also just think there were probably too many guys in here at 8 men, even if everyone got to bring something unique to the match, since I think fewer men with a greater distributed focus to each of them would've made this more compelling. Make that change and also cut this to many 18 minutes tops and this could've been really good. Instead, it was merely 'alright'. ***"

[8.0] "This was way better than it looked on paper. The first non-Chicago appearance for Punk since the troubles and he played into it perfectly. He's now entering his early-mid 10s Cena phase where he's getting these dueling chants for him, but there are a lot more outright boos among the CM PUNK chants. Punk's work and character lend themselves perfectly to straddling the line, and White played into the crowd favoring him just as well. The whole heel team played their role really well; the Gunns covered up a lot of their shortcomings in all the chaos and played excellent shitheels. FTR were the highlights of the in-ring as expected, and Cash's dive was bonkers. Ricky was on fire here too for his extended segment, but having him eat the pin off a simple punch into White's finish was a bit of a lame ending. I guess it's to make it less obvious that the Owen final will be Punk & Starks though. MOTN if only for the atmosphere. ***3/4+"

Punk responding to the boos by doing a big boot and leg drop killed me. This match was long, but was paced well and slowly built up nicely. The Gunn's continue to look better by the week, and whenever Punk/White were in the ring one-on-one the action was very compelling. Starks taking the fall makes sense as they continue to build up Jay White.****1/4"

Juice had his time to shine, and Jay pinning Starks was the best decision possible, I hope this will have ramifications on the Owen Hart tournament. Heel Punk is the best Punk, but he needs a more definite turn. His collab with FTR it's to good to leave behind, so turning on them is a no-go. Maybe turning on Starks? Idk, but I'm looking forward to the future. This match felt as a statement, and it was good!"

Punk looked good here for his part, the real test will be at the PPV to see how he fares in a singles. This was a good match but like last week, too long for something with very little conflict behind it."

[9.0] "The match itself is great. Everyone chopped the shit out of each other, Cash nearly killed himself on a dive, and looked like more of a star after the match than they did going in, especially Ricky Starks. But this crowd was un-fucking-believable. There were definitely some Punk supporters but most of the people in that crowd hated Punk, so much so that the Gunns got more cheers than Punk did. And Punk really soaking in the boos and playing with the crowd, even hitting a Hogan leg drop at one point, made for very entertaining viewing. The finish was also pretty interesting as the heel team got the win, so I'm intrigued to see where this story Punk, FTR and BCG goes. Great match overall, boosted by an absolutely unreal crowd. ****1/2"

The dynamic changes out of Chicago with a firmly split crowd, majority of the people in the anti-Punk camp. This made the match a spectacle, with guys like Ricky getting loud babyface reactions, while Punk getting the split, despite being on the same team. This match was really smooth, meticulously planned out and executed. There really wasn't a dull segment. A highlight was Punk doing Hogan, a sure sign that he's Online to some degree. Hilarious stuff lmao. Gunns improve the more I see them. It helps to have aura, which they definitely have. Jay White and Juice had the potential to being some of the best American TV wrestlers in the world, and I'm glad we're finally there!"

The atmosphere was just incredible, thanks to the presence of Punk. No matter what you think of him, hes a star on a level above anyone else in AEW and the crowd reacted as such. It definitely has John Cena vibes with the split crowd and it just makes the match feel that much more special. Ricky Starks and Jay White looked very good here and are future cornerstones of this show."

BC Gold picking up the win was the right call, and now I'm really interested to see how the Owen Cup plays out. This whole tournament is in Canada where it appears Punk will be met with boos. Not up to last week's great trios bout, but a match greatly carried by a special atmosphere and some interesting action to follow. Sadly, I didn't understand the booking at the end: why White pin AGAIN Ricky Starks? This rivalry no longer makes any sense. But apart from that, excellent match."

As a TV main event this was perfectly alright, as it continued the rivalries and set up some potential follow-up, including the apparent inclusion of the Gunns into Bullet Club Gold -- which I like. Punk worked a bit more than last week and looked fine, even happy with the crowd reaction, since I am sure he missed the adrenaline rush."
