[8.0] "Really great match. Its Bailey v Gresham at the PPV so you expected them to be a mess as a team but their respect for each other meant they worked well together. It led to them going toe-to-toe with MCMG and makes me hope for them to be a legit featured tag going forward. All of the great cohesion made the inevitable confusion more frustrating as Bailey ate an accidental kick from Gresham and MCMG finished him off to win. Really good stuff. ***3/4"
[10.0] "This was a classic case of two very talented singles wrestlers bumping against a well oiled tag team, and it came off extremely well. Gresham and Bailey have teamed up a few times this year and I think they show a lot of chemistry despite limited experience together. They both bring something different to the team that stretches the outer limit of what wrestlers are doing right now, Gresham with his picturesque technique and Bailey with his speed and striking. But there's no substitute for so many years of tag experience, and the Guns showed that they are still very hot in the game, maybe as good as they ever were at their best. This was a fantastic TV match and perfectly paced at just under 15 minutes. Awesome stuff."
[5.0] "This was just all four of these guys going through motions till we got a sudden finish. Not a big fan of Alex Shelley and his nerd bait selling is even worse. Easily the worst part of the match. Bailey did his usual stuff and for some reason Gresham was getting heavily booed. Was he heel? Certainly wasn't wrestling like one."
[8.0] "What a damn match! Insane high spots, cohesively intertwined stories, and a phenomenal finish. This was all about tag team experience versus inexperience in the beginning, with the Motor City Machine Guns exploiting openings created by the lack of familiarity between Mike Bailey and Jonathan Gresham. When two top-tier talents join forces, however, they tend to figure out how to do some serious damage. Alex Shelleys leg can attest to that. Bailey and Gresham methodically picked Shelley apart, targeting the hamstring to slow him down and his knee to ground him. Every single thing that Shelley attempted from there on out was effected. And neither Bailey nor Gresham relented in targeting the knee. That alone wouldve made me a fan of this match. Then double team moves were interrupted by Shelley being unable to put pressure on his knee. Then Sabin orchestrated offense that kept Shelley stationary. Then Speedball called plays to coordinate who the legal man was. And then some of the craziest spots I have seen transpired. All of this while working within the rules. Pure brilliance. The type of match that just keeps getting better the longer it goes. Also the type of match that makes me hope we see Bailey and Gresham team up more regularly. 4.25 stars, 8.5 out of 10. Outstanding."
[7.0] "This was enjoyable but I also came out slightly disappointed after hearing the praise. For a 12 minute throw away tag you are not going to get much better though."
[6.0] "I thought this was a bit disappointing to be honest. Some of the spots were a bit contrived for me (things like Gresham forcing one of the MCMGs to dragon screw his own partner) and moments like Gresham no selling forearms to show how tough he is just came across as really dorky. They all seemed too focused on coming up with double team moves at the expense of having a match with a more interesting story or structure. People who like this spotty style of tag match will probably enjoy this more than I did, but personally I was hoping to see something a bit more grounded like what I've seen from all four of these men in some of their better matches."
[10.0] "As for the category of 12-minutes openers, this was literally match of the year, the technical masterpiece. I would love to see Bailey and Gresham teaming together more"
[8.0] "A brilliant tag team match that was worked at a tremendous pace and told a coherent story. The 'future opponents might miscommunicate' spot at the end bothered me a bit but otherwise this was great and the Guns best performance in a little bit. ****"
[9.0] "Excellent TV tag match. The unlikely but talented duo of Speedball & Gresham try to neutralize the flawless tag continuity of the current champs by destroying Shelley's knee, which lead to not only some good drama with submissions but excellent selling on Shelley's part (including creating openings for Bailey or Gresham to exploit via it buckling). Tons of little touches that make the flow of the match work better than the average 12-minute tag (like Sabin thwarting an attempt to block his tag on instinct and Gresham deciding he might as well just tag out himself then), and that extended sequence with the Figure Four was fantastic overall and managed to keep all four men engaged despite it being a normal submission hold. The synchronized offense that broke down into miscommunication worked out well to show that these guys will make better opponents than partners, while even operating below capacity MCMG can get the job done. Nothing to complain about really, just a treat to watch. ****1/4+"
[10.0] "Simply tremendous, the submissions, the aerial movements, the attacks, the extensive varieties of techniques in wrestling, they don't even take breaks, there is action every second, Gresham's mastery with the technical style is incredible, impressive match, worth recommending To anybody."
[8.0] "Great match. Great opener. Great chemistry between all four men in this match. Some incredibly innovative offense on display in this match. Bailey and Gresham could be a good team to challenge for the Impact World Tag Team Titles down the line with a few more matches under their belt."
[8.0] "Gresham and Bailey make an inspired tag team, and I'd love for them to do this more often. I've seen a ton of their work over the last year or so (along with the Guns) but this dynamic refreshes them and leads to some really exciting, creative spots in a fun match with no downtime."
[10.0] "Fantastic match. It wasn't just four guys doing big spots as some might like or expect but four terrific wrestlers working like they were trying to win a fight. Shelley was killing it, selling the knee throughout the match and Gresham reaching for Sabin to stop his tag and Sabin knocking his hand off and making it was beautiful in is't simplicity. None of that dead sloth crawling they love in WWE."
[9.0] "4.50 Stars. This match did not disappoint one bit. The tag offence here was superb, and they had me convinced Gresham got them the win at some points. Gresham and Bailey constantly getting the upper hand added some disbelief in this match and made me think of the possibility of them upsetting the champions."
[9.0] "Kind of a dream match for me with 4 awesome performers. Impact played it smart by booking a non title match and making winners that bit more unpredictable. Story is simple in this one, Bailey and Gresham take turns on Shelley's knee (splendid selling by Shelley) trying to take advantage of damage they caused while veteran tag-team use all their in-ring experience and know how trying to put them away. Guns can work bit formulaic at times, but it wasn't a case in this one where most of the time they reacted to what Gresham & Bailey threw at them."
[9.0] "Impact is delivering incredible opening matches all the time in their weekly. Great starting and great team in Gresham/Bailey, even if they are opponents."
[9.0] "Tremendous tag team match between MCMG and two of the best technical wrestlers in the world, it was absolutely insane from the beginning to the end and just as perfect as I had imagined so we can only be happy about it, it was of an absolutely great quality and a joy to watch. MCMG are one of the best teams in history and sometimes they decide to remind us of that with bangers of this quality, I'm absolutely not surprised that this match delivered anyway when you see who the wrestlers who are in the ring, Bailey & Gresham is a team I didn't think I needed until I saw them together. They have fantastic chemistry as opponents but also as teammates, all of this was perfect to build No Surrender."
