[7.0] "This was a good match but nothing special. It was unexpectedly sloppy for two tag teams that are usually phenomenal in-ring workers. Below average rap from Max Caster as well."

[7.0] "Good match. The Acclaimed had a great 2022 and beating FTR was a good way to cement them as a top tag team and a real threat. There were some sloppy moments, like Wheelers jumping nothing from the top rope and Caster with a weird landing on a jump as well as punches that didn't land."

[8.0] "One of the Acclaimed's best perfomances ever: the crowd was hot for both teams and the action was great, especially the closing stretch. There were also fire sequences like a series of attempted shattered machines or Caster's spear to avoid a double suplex and Bowens' small package. Ftr are one of the best tag teams of all time and delivered an excellent in this match. Caster's roll-up to counter Wheeler's powerbomb was awesome. One of the Acclaimed's best matches, probably the best so far. 8/10 - 4*/5*"

Plus, The Acclaimed get a huge boost with a solid title defense over the ROH World Tag Team Champions, IWGP Tag Team Champions, and AAA World Tag Team Champions. Just fun stuff here."

[9.0] "It's now or never for FTR and we felt it on their wrestling style. They were really no babyfaces or heels here, that was both teams fighting for the big prize. One is still an underdog and has to prove while the second one is the Top Guys. This has no spectacular shit, just insane storytelling and moves from the guts. The intensity and brutality growing up was also a nice touch as they've also kept this clean in every way possible. Dax & Cash pretented to be a bit heelish for the crowd's reactions, but the fans love Acclaimed and FTR equally. The final minutes were almost breathless, they've fought hard, but with the heart. The finis was pretty smart, moreover."

[9.0] "Another great match for FTR and great for consolidating Acclaimed as great champions, the near falls were very good and the end doesn't discredit any of the teams, despite letting that FTR is clearly a level above (****1/2)"

[8.0] "Well, it's not that I didn't expect the match, but expectations were lower, in general, we hurried to meet them on the same mats, but the hierarchy has strengthened and now it's clear to us who is the ace of the team division. FTR get a second tough defeat and it seems that this has greatly lowered them in the top of the stars. The match turned out to be competitive, unpredictable, and most importantly, the fans were divided and did not know who to root for. Bright and meaningful."

[7.0] "Pretty good match with a nice mixture of both teams' styles. Obviously FTR as the no-nonsense old-school throwbacks who still work with the modern-style pacing, so all their physical grappling and brawling work was very strong, and their tag spots and individual power moves were all very impressive. The Acclaimed contrasted with their iconically cheeky character work whenever they were comfortably in control, plus their strongly sympathetic selling and fiery babyface energy whenever they were fighting back from below. All 4 had very good chemistry within their teams as well as between their teams for at least the first 2/3rds, no matter how fast-paced or complex their exchanges became, though in the final 1/3rd there started to become some noticeable sloppiness and/or some moments of obvious cooperation that would make whoever was on the receiving end of an attack look pretty stupid. I was able to excuse that negative, though, given how they still managed to keep up their pace while pulling off some creative interactions and some exciting near falls. The Acclaimed managed to get a lucky but still legit win that allowed them to remain champions while still not completely showing up FTR in their defeat, which is exactly the correct finish for both teams' stories going forward. There's definitely a better match between these 2 teams if they manage to face off on PPV. ***1/4"

[9.0] "Finally, FTR earned their championship showdown in a double sword situation where The Acclaimed are equally over with the fans. Both teams took some time to soak in the atmosphere & exhibit their best levels of aggression. I expected this to be a long match since it's the main event, but The Acclaimed broke the barriers of their wrestling aspects and showed a lot of skills here. FTR possessing the subtle shade of villains helped more than trying to contest as respectable faces. The pacing gradually improved with a lot of exchanges that had the fans on the seat edges especially during the final moments. Acclaimed retaining was expected to happen as they needed this kind of major rub from a phenomenal tag team to cement their run worthy. The post-match call-out proposed by The Briscoes w/help from The Gunn Brothers escalated the hype for Final Battle to a whole new level. 4.25 out of 5 stars!"

[8.0] "They wanted to get a lot of shit done in 17 minutes here so we got a nicely paced tag match with good execution. Bowens/Caster really stepped up their game to match FTR here. The start has basic stuff you see in a match technical wrestling with hip tosses and whatnot. The hot tag from Bowens after FTR had isolated Caster was really good. The counters/sequences in this towards, near falls in this after the hot tag from Bowens were all really good, it felt unpredictable which is always a good because there is a sense of urgency in everything that's happening. After a series of clotheslines from Cash Bowens was able to roll the tights for the win.****1/4"

[10.0] "An all-timer for Dynamite. Not crazy spectacular moves, but incredible drama and storytelling. No one knew who was going to win. I bought on AT LEAST 3 false finishes. I also loved that FTR made the Acclaimed fight for the first time in their title run. It made the match so much more meaningful. My only complaint would have been FTR should not have scissored. That? s not who they are. Still a 5 Star match in my opinion."

[9.0] "A very good title match between the best tag teams in AEW today. Good combination and chemistry between the teams and good moments in wrestling. Even if The Acclaimed wins, I still think FTR is far superior. The strength of the storyline does a lot but in this story it's justified."
Andwuh wrote on 08.12.2022:
[9.0] "Great match with good sportsmanship. FTR showing why they're arguably the best tag team on the planet, with The Acclaimed showing why they deserve to be the AEW Tag Champs. The ending was more emotional than I thought it was going to be, considering how the match had very little build or promos."

[9.0] "This started out pretty well with more interesting beginning technical work than you normally see before it started to break down. FTR are so excellent at pacing that the TV length of the match at only 16 minutes was used perfectly with great builds to tags and working a bit heelish with their heat segment. The last act of the match was just incredible, one of the smoothest extended finishing sequences a tag match has had in a long while followed by Cash just fucking destroying Caster with some lariats before the finish that protects both teams while keeping the super over Acclaimed with the titles. Excellent stuff that didn't hurt FTR at all. ****1/4+"

It's also one of the best FTR performances in the sense of making their opponents look good, so props to them too. Bowens has gotten so great, he was a highlight here. ****1/4"

[8.0] "Another very good match on this show between FTR and The Acclaimed this time which was again everything I expected from a main event with these two very good teams who know very well how to do very good tag team wrestling, no doubt it was a real success here. A first for them because this match had never been held before and in the current context it was surely the biggest tag team match that AEW could offer, a pity that it was on TV and not on PPV because for me it should have been at Full Gear but that's the way it is and on the one hand I don't regret it when I see how loud the Texas crowd was for this match, they clearly deserved it when you see the way they welcomed it. The Acclaimed are so OVER it's really crazy how popular they are, totally stealing reactions to FTR who are basically the number one team in terms of overness in the company. This win, even if it comes via a roll-up, is a sort of passing of the torch for me and Bowens & Caster (as well as Daddy Ass) are now the hottest thing in the company with MJF, Jon Moxley and Britt Baker."

CoolKyle wrote on 08.12.2022:
[7.0] "This was a damn good match that probably should have been even better but was hurt exponentially by the rushed back stretch. Television time was running out and they jam-packed a number of spots on the back end that probably could have stood to breathe a bit. FTR is very clearly one or two in the best tag team conversation and working with them will only help Bowens and Caster grow as wrestlers. This was a nice taste of what the two teams are capable of but we really need a PPV showdown to get the full effect."

Best of all, I truly didnt know which team would win, which is a precious rarity on AEW these days. The crowd was great too."
