[7.0] "This was a very good match. It's cool that we got to see Aussie Open wrestle in TNA, especially against a long time team like the Machine Guns. The Motor City Machine Guns are in the running for best tag team in TNA history, they've been able to stand the test of time and not be centered in one time period. This was fun, with the only drawback being that it wasn't long enough. Had this gone 20 minutes or so, they could have had an incredible match. Nonetheless, they shared pretty good chemistry here. ***3/4"
[4.0] "I had some expectations for this but I never got into it. Aussie Open are always impressive when they're not working a formulaic indie-style and MCMG are good workers, but this felt like a standard TV match that never left first gear. A PPV match with more time and story could've been what they needed. **1/4"
[7.0] "The first half of this match was all about the smaller team searching for ways to offset the size disadvantage, while the bigger team looked to impose their will. It laid the framework for this match better than I expected it to, as we got to the final third of the match and that second gear had not truly been reached yet beyond a great hot tag by Chris Sabin. Little did I know, an incredible final few minutes was exactly what they had been building towards. And that is why we let the professionals do what they do. That is why we sit back and enjoy the ride. The Motor City Machine Guns are one of the greatest tag teams ever, while Aussie Open is moving up the list of the best tag teams in the world today at a frenetic pace. Both of those truths were put on display as the slowly progressing story went into overdrive and these teams threw their best shots at one another. I found myself going from enjoying the story to being in awe of both sides' offensive innovation in what felt like a heartbeat. Honestly, the only downside of this match is that I wish I could have seen it go on longer. Thankfully, I am of the firm belief that this is far from the last time we will see these two teams wrestle. Hopefully, we'll see a PPV match with even more time and no commercials. Either way, one heck of a match! 3.75 stars, 7.5 out of 10."
[6.0] "A good little TV tag match. The size discrepancy made for a natural story point, as Fletcher and Davis where thereby able to avoid and counter a lot of Sabin and Shelley's early attacks which would've otherwise been quite effective against opponents closer in stature to them. MCMG still managed to get success with their signature tag spots eventually, but it was clear that they had to put in a lot more physical effort and focus to do so, reflecting just how big a task it was to keep Aussie Open down. Davis was good as the big bruiser with all his meaty attacks, while Fletcher complimented him well as usual with his all his sharp, slick, and precise attacks. Their tag spots were all very creative, allowing them to both show off the extent of their various athletic and physical attributes. The teams had great chemistry together, hitting all their spots and exchanges with smooth technique and great timing, plus selling and bumping extremely well to ensure the other's attacks always looked good. Watching both teams go back and forth hitting their tag spots (through separate control segments, mind you -- not just mindlessly trading them one after the other) was pretty fun, making for a nice finishing stretch. It still sucks that Aussie Open get jobbed out in every meaningful match they've had in the US this year, given they're so talented that they could easily be top stars if just given the appropriate push. At least they looked pretty good even in defeat here. ***1/4"
[8.0] "I had my expectations set high for this contest despite being on a weekly show and they certainly lived up to it! Both teams found the rhythm within a few exchanges and casually increased the pace & tone of the match, thanks to their enormous expertise in tag wrestling. MCMG is a legendary team while Aussie Open are finding their stance as a top-class team. So, both teams colliding reaped benefits in both favors - MCMG sharing the ring with a young, feisty duo that gives a small shade of their past days & Aussie Open offering a tough competition to one of the most decorated tag teams of the sport. MCMG challenging OGK for the titles at BFG is set to be another mouth-watering clash and I cannot wait for it. 4 out of 5 stars!"
[7.0] "A prestigious challenger match is literally what we expected. Aussie Open is now fully involved in matches for various trophies and it is clear how they have progressed to the very top over the year. Motor City Machine Guns have stopped young people by experience and kept the winning momentum. It seems that their victory was natural and logical. Team combinations and work in full force. A match in which the magic of wrestling works."
[9.0] "Let's go! Once they put MCMG vs Aussie Open on the tilt I knew it would be stellar! Man was it. Future HoF'ers vs the "IT" team, went toe to toe, getting to display their move sets. Great TV match and it would be a spectacle to see in a PPV setting."
[7.0] "This was a very stellar tv match between these teams. I'm glad that Aussie Open are finally blowing up in America and having dream matches like this against MCMG. I'd love to see them have another match against Sabin and Shelley on PPV where they could have more time without any commercial breaks."
[8.0] "Very good main event between MCMG and Aussie Open here to conclude the show on a more than positive note, a match that was destined to be super good knowing the stellar level of these two teams that are certainly two of the best on the planet and that delivered even if it never reached its full potential. This is obvious because for guys like them to offer us a classic, they have to be in conditions of a PPV match without commercials and with ten more minutes but we'll settle for this dream match on TV which was still super qualitative in its entirety. These guys are incapable of giving us bad content so it won't surprise anyone anyway, we saw some really good tag team action from start to finish with everyone combining well and performing well. MCMG are immortal, they've been putting on matches of this level for fifteen years now and I hope to see them for a long time to come, let's go make that last title run by winning at Bound For Glory."
[8.0] "Awesome match. That's what I was talking about after the last MCMG match. They are a great team. And they can show the level with completely different teams. Aussie Open is also great. This team has a great future. I hope they stay with Impact. Such people are needed there. ****"
[7.0] "Good TV match between two great teams known for their excellent double-team maneuvers. The result was never in doubt and it didn't feel like either team was going all-out, but still definitely worth a watch though."
[9.0] "Aussie Open have it all. They hit hard, go fast, and are strong to boot, like when they keep up Shelley in a vertical suplex then pass him off through the tag and keep the vertical suplex going to the other person. The Guns hit all their spots, but I mean that in a good way; their spots are so well-timed that it shows how whatever they might loose in speed, they make up for in smarts. These teams have to do this again, please."
[9.0] "The result was never in doubt but that doesn't matter for a generational babyface tag team like the Guns. Aussie Open can follow their lead, pull out some frankly impressive stuff and look like they can (and do) beat the piss out of people."
[9.0] "Yeah what do you expect. You put one of the best tag teams of all time and one of the best tag teams right now in a ring and they end up producing magic. High paced, hard-hitting, great action between 2 great teams."
