Fast-paced as well as hard-hitting, this was quite a TV banger whereas the babyface and heel matchup was quite well respected. A great showdown for Lee."
[7.0] "Even during the commercial, the match did not slow down and was fun. In principle, we know that there are two super professionals in the ring and that this is the spirit of the very NXT where the quality of work on the mats is no less important. It looked fresh and I wanted to watch it for a very long time. An extremely interesting meeting of two talents!"
[7.0] "A great sprint of action between these two who had their unique styles mesh well for most time. Wes Lee was at his best since being in the shadows as a solo act and JD gave his best as usual in this circumstance. The bizarre angle JD working with Vic Joseph is not something I wanted to see but registers his character in a fine way. 3.5 out of 5 stars!"
[6.0] "It was an entertaining match between two young upcoming stars, but I was expecting more from both of them. They need to push Wes Lee because he is so talented. (***)"
[7.0] "Jordan Devlin is excellent and helped Wes Lee to easily his best match as a singles competitor. They displayed a good amount of chemistry and kept a good pace throughout, with a lovely headbutt from Devlin being my favourite spot. I know JD is portraying a creepy character, but Vic Joseph soiling himself because he touched the bottom of his trouser leg was too over the top and hammily acted, but that was just a minor irritation. Devlin picking up the win was obviously the correct outcome and, given the end of the show, I'm glad to see he's still involved in the main event picture and I still hope he dethrones Breakker. ***3/4, best match of the night"
[8.0] "One hell of a match here. Wes Lee showed off his incredible speed and impressive athleticism throughout most of the match, with JD shockingly getting very minimal offense aside from a gross looking arm hold and a head butt very late in the match. JD took a great bump over the announce desk as well. Overall, this was really good, but Wes Lee came out of it looking much more impressive than McDonagh, which I'm not sure was the intention. Good match regardless. Really hoping to see Wes as North American Champion soon. [****]"
