305.04.2025TokyoHeights7.0Preceded by a scorching hot promo from a young Cocky Motherfucker Punk where he references Funk's first AJPW retirement and the infamous FOREEEEEVER promo followed a pretty good affair between the two. A large portion of the first part is just punches, kicks and chops, which is pretty much what Punk does for the most part of the match other than the Figure Fours. It turns into a hardcore match at Punk's request in the middle and we get some weapon spots, albeit fairly unconvincing ones. Punk takes a wonky looking suplex off the apron and goes feet first through the table. It was wonky because Terry Funk, god bless his ass, can't take an apron back bump at nearly 60 years old. Still, this was good, I was incredibly suprised to see Funk pull out a moonsault which the commentary claimed he hadn't done in nearly 3 years. The final part was focused around Punk doing the Flair Figure Four on multiple occasions targeting Funk's knee which had buckled after the moonsault. Terry was great here selling the emotion as he was throughout the match and the crowd was firmly behind him. The spot where it looked like he would lock in the Spinning Toehold only to have the knee buckle again was awesome. In the end, it's a very fitting DQ with the living legend not wanting to die and Punk not wanting to let him go in the ropes. Dreamer and Raven come out post match clearing out Punk and Cabana and the ECdub legends stand tall. Limited action wise, but still pretty good emotion wise. Again, Funk was awesome with selling the struggle and his trashtalk and Punk very much looked and acted the cocky, young counterpart disrespecting the eras of the past. [7, 3/10]
427.03.2025SapBR018.0This is one of those matches that the true importance and place of, in wrestling history, is known only after decades. Watching this in 2025, after having watched CM Punk's story of a gory Funk being pummled by him, the match was pretty slow, but how is that not to be expected with Funk at 60? Despite that, both of them worked a pretty good bout.
526.02.2025danzitorock7.0How cool is that this match exists? CM Punk wrestled the legend Terry Funk as part of the Raven feud in 2003, and it's a blast, Terry is 59-years old here, he can't move well, so of course the match isn't what could've been if they were both on their primes, but it's super cool, Punk cuts a promo before the match roasting Terry, specially the fact that he retired in 1983 for the first time, but still wrestles 20 years later, and he promised to end his career for good, and considering the limitations of the match, that's what he tried to do. In the middle of the match Punk grabs the mic and says that it's now a hardcore match, and that was part of his plan, he was trying to undermine Funk, with chair shots and stuff that would hurt him. There's a crazy suplex to the outside, where Funk grabs him and Punk fell very weirdly into the table, it was weird but looked dangerous as hell, which is cool. This match had all the fundamentals, the only thing lacking was mobility, Terry's selling was impeccable, he made people feel bad for seeing an old man getting beat, and the figure four leg lock story was phenomenal, Punk was hurting his knees, and kept doing that until Terry fades, but he was showing heart, until Punk decided to be a total prick and totally ignored the rope break, causing a DQ. The whole experience was kinda dark, because Terry is a legend and he was being demolished, he knew how to play the old man incredibly well and I was feeling bad watching, but the ending was a nice payoff, with Raven making the save, Tommy Dreamer appearing, and the three of them beating the hell out of Colt Cabana, to the sound of 'ECW' and 'ROH' chants. Very cool match, where both wrestlers maximized what the limited conditions presented - {***1/2}
619.02.2025MaskDeMasque7.0Terry Funk at 60 years old doing 15 minute of a match with CM Punk is great. That alone deserves a good rating.

1022.11.2024Sottle7.0Terry Funk is great. That's it, that's the review. His facials, the anguish he's able to squeeze out of his chest and vocal chords, his constant interjections of dialogue which never veer into modern melodrama he is an absolute master of so many things that are a largely lost art already in 2003, let alone two decades later.

1620.05.2024BlackVikingGZ7.0It's crazy that this match even exists. Who would have thought that CM Punk could posibly faced Terry Funk on the middle of the Raven feud. I loves Punk's promo before the match mocking Funk and his "forever" retirement. The match has a cool structure. First Funk teases Punk before shaking hands and controls the bout for a bit, even telling Punk to hit him harder. Funk suplexes Punk over the timekeeper table. Then they got back to the ring and Funk tries a moonsault, but he misses. Seeing a 59 years old Terry Funk trying to hit a moonsault was astonishing. Funk hurts his knee after the bad dive. His selling of it was great, cause he couldn't even stand. Also his facial expressions and insults to Punk were great. Punk uses this to work on the knee wit some Spinning Toeholds and some Figure 4 leglocks. Funk scapes some submissions, not giving up. Funk grabs the ropes, but Punk doesn't unlock the hold, so he gets DQ. And even continues to harm Funk after the bell rang. After the match Raven and Tommy Dreamer come to make the save. It was a cool match with a decent story into it, better than I thought. Funk's appearence was used well, to get even more heat on Punk.
1723.04.2024JumpinJerry5.0This was a good match, but a lot of things do not make sense about it. Punk shows a nice mean streak relentlessly targeting funks leg.
1821.03.2024WhatIsLooveee6.0This was the height of Raven and CM Punk's feud, and this match took place because Raven chose Terry Funk as Punk's opponent on this show. The young and talented Punk faced the 59-year-old Funk, who seemed to be capable of putting on a good match at any age. The blatant mocking of Funk's famous "Forever" added fire to their enmity. The show was held in Philadelphia, the birthplace of mainstream hardcore wrestling in America, so this match was very warmly received. The very fact that there was such a match at all looked surreal, but the wrestlers expectedly did not disappoint. Funk doing a moonsault at this age is just insane. It's a little odd that a match that heavily utilized chairs ended by disqualification, but it probably made sense. Also the appearance of Tommy Dreamer at the end was a nice moment.
1924.02.2024Styles6196.0This was a solid match. The fact that we got CM Punk vs Terry Funk is just incredible to me. Funk was obviously old by this point, as Punk pointed out in his promo, but he could still move around decently enough. His selling was great, playing the role of the old gunslinger who still tries to fight on. Punk was just a great heel here, not just on the promo, but for the way he wrestled Funk, just beating him down any chance he got. Terry Funk even busted out a moonsault, which at his age was incredible that he was even doing it. Now they had to slow down a lot of times and focus on the selling and later on submissions, which is understandable. This isn't even the Terry Funk of 97/98 when he had great matches with Bret Hart and Mick Foley. So they had to work a slower pace here. The finish wasn't great, but it did show that Funk wasn't going to give up no matter what. This was a nice little novelty match. ***

2220.01.2024KingsCrossing6.0This was a damn fine effort for a 59 year old Terry Funk. His selling is incredible and what really makes the entire match. Whether it's his anguished facial expressions or his quivering legs as he attempts to stand, Funk does such a brilliant job generating sympathy. The match was obviously fairly slow paced, but Funk knows how to keep things engaging regardless. I did think the finish was kinda lame (especially since the match seemed to be changed to a hardcore match partway through, but I suppose Gabe was making a point on commentary to say that officials were concerned about Funk's health and that the referee had been instructed to call it if things were getting bad), but that aside this was a smartly wrestled and I'd love to see some younger wrestlers follow Funk's example when it comes to selling.
2308.01.2024turtleHRZ5.0An alright match. Lots of work to the leg but the highlight for me was Funk going for (and missing his moonsault. The DQ finish here is very disappointing though.
2422.01.2023GonzoAppreciator5.0While the in-ring action wasn't that special, it was still a fun spectacle to see Funk and Punk in a ring together. I would have given this a higher rating if it had something other than a DQ finish.
2527.06.2022tommyyy17144.0Pretty crazy that this match even happened. It wasn't much special as Funk was pretty slow and 90% of the match was just Punk beating him down. The DQ finish was pretty stupid considering Punk changed it to a hardcore match halfway through - **1/4
