[10.0] "Easily the best FTR/Bucks match this one is such a hoot. Simple approach with no tribute match or complex face/face lay out or gimmick attached, this is just a simple face/geel tag match in the center of the ring. FTR being the faces rocked and the Bucks a re perfect at being slimey heels. Started slow with some fun simple spots with crowd worj and turned into a decent heel segment on Cash. Knox's refereeing at times got in the way and very much took me out at times but you try and powet through. The Dax hot tag rocked and the part that got this crowd truly in it was the spot with Cash getting his foot in the ropes before the three count. The finishing steetch rocked with FTR hitting a BTE trigger to Matt, giving him the kiss taunt to the cheeks and then a Big Rig to finish it off. ****3/4"

[7.0] "At the time that it happened I found myself not much liking this on account of I thought it had too many kickouts. I can't say I feel that way any longer, but while I love the earlier stages of it, I'm not a big fan of a lot of what happens after it escalates. One of the highlights is Dax catching Nick in midair as he's going for the spike tombstone and powerbombing him, but that bit where the Bucks nail FTR with the belt and the referee is supposed to miss it and he's clearly looking right at it is ridiculous. Good finishing sequence though."

[8.0] "FTR vs Bucks II was a pretty good match, I think both teams had their style showcased in some way, the structure was great, Bucks were clearly the heels and FTR the old-school babyfaces, this dynamic is the best that those two teams can deliver, they work better when this is the setting. The match was very enjoyable, specially at the beginning, with a lot of chemistry and extremely cool sequences, but the ending stretch didn't excited me very much, it was kinda messy, and with a lot of shenanigans. Overall, for a tv-match, it was very solid, I love that these tags sell themselves as the best in the world, and this make their matches exciting - {***3/4}"

I think the teams' opposite styles give them a unique chemistry, and the whole "who's the best tag team in the world? " angle got the crowd invested."

An audience as hot as the two teams, majestic near falls as much as the moves proposed and incredible references. The whole recipe for a good tag match is gathered here. (5*)"

This is far better than their first match due to the hot atmosphere, but more importantly that they aren't trying to mimmick older teams, and instead are actually doing what they do well."

Granted, there were plenty of very good moments, but illogical moments the same. I'm not gonna remember this one sadly. It's a good match to see live, but it doesn't translate as well for TV in my eyes."

[9.0] "Another fantastic match between these two teams: the beginning of the match was great then it slowed down with the Bucks taking the upper hand during the break and picked up again with Matt's superkick to prevent a hot tag. Eventually Wheeler was able to give the tag to Harwood who delivered a great comeback. Action was stacked in the second part of the match with lots of nearfalls, sequences and counters. The ending was beautiful as well with the double kiss and the shattered matchine. 9/10 - 4.5*/5*"

Exhilarating and engaging, and yet somehow it still felt in some ways as though they were holding back something for a potential future match, and we can only hope this comes to fruition."

I am very happy for the victory of FTR, who managed to exorcise the defeat against the Young Bucks two years earlier"
GoodVsBadGuys wrote on 31.05.2023:
[9.0] "From the jump, the crowd support behind FTR and against The Young Bucks, in AEW of all places, gave this a very special feel. The data collected here on PW Musings shows that FTRs slow burn face turn has become almost fully formed, with them committing ZERO fouls in this match compared to 11 from the Bucks. There were big moves a plenty, with 46 strikedowns, 26 grapples, and 6 dives, to get the crowd excited and reacting throughout (most of) the match. While this match was not as perfect as the Briscoes match, because it did not include the same focus on the friendship and compassion dynamics of the FTR boys being truly concerned for each others well-being, plus the Bucks threw in a lot of basic small offense during the Picture-In-Picture break (evidenced by their 81 total strikes, compared to only 26 strikedowns), and a heat spot on/against Cash that was prolonged a bit long for my taste that led to it being a little one-sided and lop-sided (there were 4 tag blocks from the Bucks in this match that cut off FTR momentum and they had 57% of the total offense). This led to a really good hot tag - but it would have required an incredibly prolonged and aggressive slingshot/boomerang return to cancel it out completely. However, on the upside, it made Cash look incredibly resilient, it positioned FTR as honorable underdogs, and it solidified them as the best and hottest tag team in the world today, who now have the full force of fan support behind them for the first time ever. What is truly great about this match is that if you knew nothing of the history or characters going into it, its still a banger, and if youve been paying attention, this was an important stage of story and character development."

Putting them together seems to just highlight them even more, despite their difference in styles. Incredible match, one of the best television matches ever, and a huge win for FTR that they needed to cement the beginning of this great run of 2022."

With the barely broken-up pinfalls, the match being won by the Young Bucks and being restarted by Rick Knox, and both teams stealing the other's finishers, I was on the edge of my seat for the entire second half of the match."

[9.0] "Incredible tag team match between the Young Bucks and FTR here, which wasn't as perfect as their first encounter from two years ago that I found absolutely magical but still pretty damn close, it's because they're the two best teams in the world that I'm demanding anyway but all in all I enjoyed this one almost as much as their first. With these two teams we know very well that we're never disappointed, even more when they face each other since they're destined to make magic together so we know that they will deliver every time. And they did it in the best way possible here because my god it was so damn good, it was perfectly structured with the action building in intensity as the minutes passed leading to that incredible hot-tag by the amazing Dax Harwood. The heat on Cash was good but once that hot-tag happened, this is the best minutes of tag team wrestling you will see this year very clearly. The hype was real for this rematch and it did not disappoint, I would recommend this match to anyone."

[7.0] "This was a good match but obviously not as good as there previous encounter. I don't really have a whole lot to say about this match cause the wrestling was good but never really picked up and the young bucks were really overbearing with thier character work 90% of the time, when they do generic heel tactics like distractions and low blows I like that cause it really sets the tone that FTR are the faces which I really like about this match but then when the young bucks do their whole schtick of looking like crack addicts to play to the crowd and "heel it up" that's when I really get taken out of it. Also the near falls with Cash were so excessive and not very well done"
TSwifty wrote on 26.06.2022:
[7.0] "This was a good match. I didn't like their first match because it was overkill to a comical extent and the psychology made no sense at all. This time, the roles were reversed and they didn't go beyond the point of no return. There was some solid showboating from the Bucks early on, but the mirrored spots and standoffs were way too contrived for me. I think the Bucks are much better heels as opposed to their work as faces, but their control work here was forgettable. I did enjoy Cash's fight to get the hot tag, and Nick took one of the best apron bumps I've seen in awhile when Cash dropkicked his knee. Nick superkicking Dax to stop the hot tag was great, and once Dax finally got tagged in, it was back and forth action until the finish. This is where the match had it's best moments, but also underwhelming moments that prevent it from that great status like they were aiming for. Nick preventing the powerplex was great. So was Dax scouting Nick's moonsault into a brainbuster on the floor. I even liked how the Bucks foiled the Big Rig and hit their own version of the move for a nearfall, but after that I thought they went into false finish overkill once again. It wasn't as egregious as their first match, but it still felt forced. Dax surviving several big moves, a belt shot and the BTE Trigger (an awful looking double team move, but in kayfabe it's their superfinisher) was just silly. I'll give FTR some credit for their own version of the double knee lift, because that looked pretty good. ***1/2"
Makai Club wrote on 07.06.2022:
[7.0] "This was a much better effort than their prior match where the roles were reversed and failed to deliver on a big scale for me. Now FTR were in the babyface roles and the match benefited greatly from it. The Bucks shine more offensively in the heel role as well, their selling suffers from not really being likeable to them flying around the ring makes for a more exciting match. The match does suffer from the structure of the television show, however. The most important parts of the match, meaning the heat section, is stuck in the commercials and derails the momentum of the match for someone like me who is watching it on TV. This reset the match back to stage one. The match flows well enough with enough good spots that combine both teams? styles to get it back where the first half was but it tends to go on a little too hard to try to make what was a good match a great match and it never transpired. ***1/2"

[9.0] "Red hot FTR continue to bring it with a second incredible match in less than a week. The Bucks do everything they could to stop FTR from retaining the belts. Despite only facing each other twice, these two teams know each other well, and that is presented throughout the match with big exchanges of counters. A molten crowd only adds to this match, and they go nuts after an insane closing sequence capitalized by an FTR dub."
WrestleWire wrote on 26.04.2022:
[9.0] "FTR spent 18 months lamenting a match that they lost after two years of anticipation. It was a gut-wrenching and downright overwhelming as FTR faced the reality that they could never truly claim to be the best tag team in the land until they defeated the team that most commonly receives that praise. In a span of six days, however, Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood received a rare opportunity to eliminate all doubt. If not FTR, the two most common selections for the Best in the World title are The Young Bucks and The Briscoes. With a win over The Briscoes behind them and one of the few championship belts they had yet to hold now around their waists, FTR had just one order of business remaining: Avenge a loss in a dream rematch. 18 months since the loss, nearly four years since the tweet. All of the pressure in the world was on FTR to prove that they are the team we think they are. And if that story does not do it for you, I do not know what will. As far as what unfolded in the ring, it was sheer brilliance. FTR being one step ahead of The Young Bucks throughout the first few minutes was tremendous, as was The Jackson Brothers resorting to dirty tactics to gain the upper hand. The response to the dueling Sharpshooters being Matt Jackson hitting the Bret Hart elbow from the middle rope and a signature Hitman pose was the icing on the cake of what was a phenomenal way to set the tone for this match. The breakneck action was reason enough to be intrigued, but I cannot speak enough about the story enough. The subtleties, such as Harwood changing up his usual sequence that leads to the Arn Anderson style DDT and instead led to a Suplex. A clear sign of FTR knowing that the things they tried the first time around would not work again. Wheeler making an all-too-familiar gesture during the BTE Trigger. Even the tables turning of The Young Bucks using the same strategy that FTR utilized when the latter team defeated The Lucha Brothers to become AAA Tag Team Champions. Every second of this match contributed to the story and every big twist had me jumping out of my chair. This is what so many of us want to see from a company with a division this strong: Tag team wrestling in magnificent form. 4.5 stars, 9 out of 10. Until next time, FTR is the best tag team in the world today."

In front of a white hot crowd who was robbed of their first encounter - for two prestigious championships in the main event of national television. Everything tag team wrestling represents, so thankful for this. One day we need a ppv match with these two to go 45 minutes or something. Imagine that in Japan for the IWGP championships or something. I still feel like they're holding something back."

A superb battle of strength where the Jacksons displayed all their sheenigans for the HEAT. Superb storytelling as FTR learned of their previous errors, are in peace after this face turn whereas the Bucks are pretentious as hell. That cooled down a bit during the commercial break but fuck, that was breathless till the final minutes."

These two are absolutely red hot, and while this match against the Bucks wasn't quite up to the level of their Briscoes classic on Friday, the fluidity with which both teams moved through the match and the intensity of the near-falls at the end made it an absolutely fantastic TV main event."

That match for me was much better than this, and I'd still only put that around a high '8' or maybe a low '9' at a stretch. This match didn't have anything approaching the heights of that match, nor was it as good as the last FTR vs Bucks match. Not bad at all - but for me - an example of the AEW effect in action when it comes to ratings and hype. It's good to see FTR get back on form recently."

It's so clear FTR and The Bucks were holding back here, because this was wrestled at a snails pace compared to their usual fair. Maybe it was because FTR were so banged up after their insanely physical match against The Briscoes from a few days prior, but even then The Bucks did nothing in order to compensate for that. This wasn't a bad match by any means, and the finish was awesome, but it's really nothing to write home about. I'm sure the blow off for this feud will be nuts though."

This took everything about their first match which was fantastic imho and improved upon all the things about it that worked while swapping the face/heel dynamic.
