[8.0] "This was an excellent match. The feud between Jeff Jarrett and Kurt Angle produced some of the best matches of Jarrett's career because of how personal it was. It also helps that they just have great chemistry together. This match was called an Ultra Male Rules match, which is essentially a 2 out of 3 Falls match. The first fall must be won by submission, which Kurt won with the Ankle Lock. The second fall must be won by pinfall, which Jarrett won after countering an Angle Slam into a roll up while holding the tights. The 3rd fall must be won by whoever escapes the cage first. After some German suplexes, Angle locked the cage door so he could punish Jarrett, then proceeded to make him bleed. There was a botched spot where it seemed like Jarrett was supposed to give Angle a powerbomb from the top rope but Angle leaned too far back and landed on his head. It's a miracle that he didn't break his neck on that spot. As Jarrett saw his chance to escape the cage, Angle gave him an Angle Slam from the top rope. Angle then tried to escape the cage by climbing over, but Gunner came out to stop him from escaping. This gave Angle a chance to hit a moonsault from the top of the match, which for the most part missed unless his head landed on Jarrett. Scott Steiner then came out to chase Gunner away. As Angle unlocked the cage door, Karen Jarrett, his ex wife, came out to spray something in Kurt's eyes. Jarrett tried to escape but Kurt put him in an Ankle Lock. Karen gave Jeff a guitar which he used on Kurt. Angle wouldn't give up and still put him in the Ankle Lock, but Karen swung the cage door in Kurt's face, which allowed Jarrett to crawl out and win the match. This was a fight and these two gave it their best shot. ****1/4"

[8.0] "Totally the awesome battle it was meant to be and so much more, this is exactly what a match with this stipulation should look like to end a rivalry as imposing as the one Angle & Jarrett had at the time. I loved every second of it, the fans had a hard time getting into the match but I found it immediately qualitative, perfectly paced and Angle was so beast in this match. He redid the Moonsault spot he did against Mr. Anderson a year before at Lockdown, and also the sequence when he can escape from the cage but doesn't because he wanted to kick Jarrett's ass even more. It didn't work out so well for him this time, but in any case the match and the overbooking were very good. It's a shame the ending seems a bit flat, but I liked too many things about this match."

[2.0] "For 'Alpha Male Rules' match in-ring was amazingly boring until Angle decided to take some stupid bumps (including THAT infamous Moonsault off the top of the cage) in the third fall (after refusing to leave the cage as he practically had the match won), as Angle had to constantly adjust to Jarrett's level, slowing himself down as much as he possibly could to make the story work. Overbooked mess of a finish also didn't help - at one point I gave up and wanted to like it on a 'it's so bad it's good' level, but ultimately Angle succeeded to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in a way that made him look weak, oh well."

[6.0] "LOLTNA - but seriously, what a clusterfuck of a match. The match was called alpha male rules, which is an awful name for a match. The match itself was carried by Angle who was wrestling as his alter ego Perc Angle and not in a good way, there were a couple of nasty looking botches including the moonsault. Karen was sent away and then came back and the ref didn't care. Bright side, Kurt can wrestle a broomstick to a 3 star match."
