[6.0] "I'm unsure why this was billed as an exhibition match, as it's wrestled like your standard UWF bout. I guess they felt they needed to ease the audience into what they would see. The UWF wrestlers worked similarly in New Japan, but this was going to be a more minimalist sub-heavy style and that needed to be presented, especially with the spot heavy Takada. There is a good mix of kicks and holds to give variety, suiting both men. Miyato is presented as the little brother between the two and is on the defensive against Takada's offensive pushing. Takada is able to submit Miyato with the heel hook for the first fall and then again with the cross armbreaker. But the match continues under exhibition rules. Miyato tries hard to fight back despite being out-matched but Takada schools him considerably. Miyato didn't have a sustained hope spot but it remained an entertaining bout nonetheless. ***1/4"
[6.0] "An exhibition match cunningly put together by Akira Maeda. He takes someone with a similar style to Satoru Sayama, his former partner in UWF, and has his mate Takada beat the piss out of him over 10 minutes. It feels like a subtle jab at Sayama that Miyato cannot compete and yet is not declared the loser due to the exhibition time limit rules. The match itself is nicely put together and Takada was phenomenal at the time. A fine start to the Newborn UWF."
[6.0] "Decent match with a weird structure. Miyato taps twice but the match is still declared a draw. Solid work, however, with some nice matwork from both. Miyato looks promising here, and Takada gets in his spots as expected. Good opener for UWF 2. 0. ***1/2"
