[8.0] "We got a real treasure here! Beloved baby face tag teams going at it and Shawn plays Ricky Morton for his team. Gorilla knocks on Jannetty and Shawn for not doing a back slide pin attempt correctly. Eventually this thing goes to the time limit and it breaks down in a brawl until Santana and Roma have to break it up. Rockers/Harts put on a couple of classics around this time. Sometimes they were a time limit draw, other times a double DQ or on one other occasion, the Rougeaus got involved."

[9.0] "Simply one of the very best non-finishes to a Shawn Michaels match ever, with Mankind at Mind Games eclipsing this one. The Rockers against The Hart Foundation was like peanut butter and banana, it just tasted so damn good. Yes you could see the shades of what was to come with HBK and The Hitman, but the alchemy of these four men was not just a stepping stone to that undeniable legacy Shawn and Bret would carve, it was its own flavor of incredible tag team wrestling. This is the final Rockers match included on the seminal Shawn Michaels retrospective, My Journey, and for good reason. You can bridge the gap as a fan from this match in the Garden to Shawn's turn against Marty, and the DVD picks back up with an Intercontinental Championship Match between Shawn and Bret in '92. One of the defining matches of WWF tag team wrestling in the late 80s, and if this was the one where they went for the epic instead of the night the rope snapped a year later, we may be talking very differently about the legacy of this rivalry. ****1/2"

Everyone is showcased pretty nicely here, the biggest surprise here is Neidhart who performs a really sick looking dropkick as a counter."

Much of this match is a repeat of their earlier bout on Prime Time Wrestling but I actually prefer that match because they get most of the same spots in but in less time with fewer rest holds. Whereas that match ended with the Rougeaus interfering then getting chased to the back by both teams, here we have a schmoz/brawl on the heels of an apparent time-limit expiration. In neither case do we see a payoff between the Rockers and the Hart Foundation."

I love The Harts playing heel since it's practically impossible to have a straight up face vs face tag match under this condition. An absolute blast of a tag match. Was about to give it a ****1/2, but the ending ruined it for me. Almost a guarantee MOTY for WWF 1989, but at least it's a pretty strong candidate. [****1/4]"

It's a shame we didn't get to see more matches involving these two teams, due in part to the breakup of the Hart Foundation and Bret's singles push. But we would, of course, get more Bret vs Shawn in the '90s. Good tag team wrestling overall."

[8.0] "Truly a perfect blend of speed, strength, and wrestling ability. Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels are well-known for being the in-ring performers they are but I enjoyed the moments Bret and Marty shared in this match. True brilliance in wrestling between those two. Shawn and Anvil had solid moments as well. Bret just cannot seem to land any of his elbows. The tag team wrestling is also terrific. Could've watched this match for an hour. I will say that as much as I don't enjoy time-limit finishes, it felt as though this match was heading towards a double DQ anyways. Thus, I say 8."
