[7.0] "This was one of the better battle Royals WWE have put on. It felt like they were advancing stories throughout, and the limited run-time meant that there were no long stretches of people punching, waiting for the next spot."

This match is probably the first time I had genuine interest in the Tugboat story as he eliminates (justifiably so) Hogan the obvious favourite from this match here. It was great to see Mr. Perfect get the win here."

Very refreshing that Hogan, the clear favourite and only main eventer, being out by Tugboat of all people, thus sowing the seeds of Typhoon. Some good spots as well (Warlord/Bulldog continue past WM7, the reveal of Lucifer, the Hogan/Tugboat/HBK exchange). The star of the match was the winner, Mr. Perfect who looked cunning and smart, getting out of almost every elimination situation. He even made Valentine look like he could win! Really fun match as a battle royal should be."

[6.0] "This was one of the best Battle Royals they ever put on. At this point, Jake is feuding with Quake over the loss of Damien and It's the last time Hogan and Quake hook up on a big time WWF show. Mr Perfect and Hammer are the final two and the crowd pops like crazy for Perfect overselling of Hammers chops at the end. Weird finish as Hammer goes to dump Perfect and they both go over but Perfect scoot back in and it almost looked like he touched the floor ala Shawn Michaels but gave himself a little boost back into the ring. Obviously that overselling would be Perfects undoing in a few weeks. Also to note. Hogan and Tugboat hooking up and getting into an eye rack contest then later on. Tugboat chucks Hogan out in a HUGE upset ala Sid Justice style before Shawn Michaels knocks Tugger out. So the seeds for the heel turn are already planted. Lesser point of interest: Hogan and Jannetty fighting at the beginning of the match which is something I haven't seen anywhere else. This Battle Royal roster was stacked and showed off pretty much the best of the IC and World title contenders."

[6.0] "During the first few minutes, it was the usual kicky punchy battle royal mess, but after the break and the whole Jake Roberts deal it was actually quite good. Mr. Perfect was obviously the highlight here, spending the whole match doing everything to avoid the elimination before getting an intelligent win in the end. The people who interacted with him got over, particularly Shawn Michaels and Greg Valentine in the final sequences. This match created some tension between Hogan and Tugboat as well, while also developing the Earthquake/Roberts feud. Battle royals rarely impress me, but this one wasn't bad at all. [***]"
