24.11.2025 | Gilensky | 5.0 | Except for Santino Marella's elimination and for the meme clash between Chris Jericho and The Undertaker, this Royal Rumble was so boring. I started sleeping during its whole duration. I can't believe it has such a good valuation like that. (5/10)

10.10.2025 | Smi-48 | 6.0 | Although the field of participants includes some favorites, Orton's success is terribly obvious due to the ongoing storyline with the McMahon family and, in particular, thanks to the pre-match interview. The match has some solid moments, if you think of Van Dam, Punk or Mysterio, but really brings no outstanding quality or sequences that serve the current storylines in any way to the table. In fact, it's quite crowded and confusing in the ring at times. Triple H will accompany us, and we can already say that here, in Orton's presence over the next few months. Everything is fine, but it's not a high-class Rumble match, I'm sorry to say.
01.09.2025 | sdenapoli | 8.0 | While this wasn't the best Rumble of all time, it had insane star power (Taker, Orton, HHH, Kane, Big Show, RVD etc). Randy winning here was absolutely the right choice, since 2009 was his year in the WWE.
22.08.2025 | Cdawg987 | 4.0 | Outside of the finish with Legacy helping Orton to win, this Rumble is very boring. While it does have star power, the match never has any spots for these big stars. Instead, they come in, run wild, and if you're lucky you get one elimination. It does have some fun stuff like the RVD return, Santino's elimination, and Goldust's cameo, but it's few and far between.

Also sidenote but I loved this stage design you don't see this anymore. |

27.05.2025 | N47H4N H4RDY | 6.0 | Quite a high number of filler opponents around the middle area and becuase of that this rumble isn't incredibly memorable. The best moments are when Undertaker cleans house and the one of appearance of Rob Van Dam. There also some nice narrative work with Orton and Priceless targeting Triple H and Goldust, it's just a shame DiBiase and Rhodes were very limited a this point and were interchangable in terms of look and personalilty. I prefer how they eliminated Undertaker in this rumble than in 2008, the brawl in the crowd with Big Show was awesome and it boosts both of their credibility.
26.05.2025 | Rhasta | 5.0 | First fourth of the match was quite fun, but then the ring became overcrowded and stayed that way all the way until 30th entrant. Overcrowded ring almost always makes for boring and sloppy action and it's no exception here. Overall not a memorable rumble.

15.05.2025 | Erdrick | 6.0 | Rumbles are generally pretty formulaic and this was no exception, as each new guy comes in like a house on fire and beats up the previous entrants while some number of participants lay around resting. The action in this iteration became "methodical" a third of the way in by having the final two of Triple H and Randy Orton enter one after the other, slowing everything down for the remainder.

31.01.2025 | Yee I watch wrestlin | 7.0 | personally i feel like this is one of the more underrated rumble matches in history. I do wish there was more guys in the match with more star power instead of freaking mike knox being in and lasting till past number 30 but hey. That's really the only complaint i have with this rumble is the guys that don't matter stay in way to long. Other than that there are guys that it's awesome they were in as long as they were. Rey is in and is the iron man and there might be a glimmer of hope he could do it again. Punk is in for a long time which is super cool because at this time yeah he's won the world title and is the current ic. champion i believe but he just doesn't feel like he's on the level that he should be at. HHH and orton and kane all these guys are in till the end. I love the final few guys once all the random lower midcard guys get thrown out that's when this match is at its best. All of legacy against HHH and it seems like there's no way in hell HHH and pull it off but then he almost throws orton out gets close there and then throws the other members of legacy out just for orton to sneak up behind him and get the win. Great winner great match incredibly underrated rumble. 4 stars
30.01.2025 | MatchJournal | 4.0 | Boring Royal Rumble especially the latter half of it, which dragged on way too long due to an absence of eliminations. The surprises went really well but the main stories being pushed just didn't receive a reaction. Closer to the worst Rumble than the best.

26.01.2025 | Justt | 5.0 | A "meh" Rumble Match, in my opinion. The overpopulated ring didn't help the match at all. Some of the eliminations felt flat, like Mysterio's and Taker's. The final four wasn't good too, because it was obvious that Hunter would throw out DiBiase and Cody like geeks.

02.01.2025 | GoodVsBadGuys | 5.0 | This Royal Rumble had some fun entrances: Hacksaw Jim Duggan for the nostalgia pop. Goldust got the kind of pop where I can't tell if he returned or not, and casual fans just weren't watching him on Velocity or something. RVD seemed like he returned from another company. Match itself wasn't anything special to write home about. A lot of near missed spots with timing. The closing segments that gave a lot of spotlight to Big Show and Undertaker's conflict received no reaction. The ending stretch seemed built to make Triple H look super strong just as much as it was meant to make Legacy seem weasely. The end result is just not worthy of main eventing the 2nd biggest show of the year.

RVD's return got an insane pop and I really liked the mix of guys in this one with older legends like Taker, Kane, Triple H, Rey, Jericho & Big Show as well as stars in their prime or on their way like Orton, Punk, Kofi, Miz, Cody & Dolph. No more than 4 stars. |

03.08.2024 | JacquesRougeauCanHaveMyWife | 6.0 | It was a fine Rumble and once again the encounter between the final competitors was great, but apart from that nothing really stood out here. I also think that Legacy should have dominated a little more to build them up for the finish, but they were still doing a fantastic job with Orton at the time. Some decent performances here and there, Santino got his record elimination timed perfectly and it was great to see Rob Van Dam back.
28.07.2024 | Mike Ehrmantraut | 6.0 | A just ok Rumble. Started fine, become way too overpopulated and bogged down from the central part but, in spite of this, the last 4 wrestlers were eliminated in seconds. Probably it's the most crowded and starpowered RR ever but the huge amount of stars were not well booked, especially Randy, who didn't move a muscles until the end.

22.02.2024 | jeremyeyork | 10.0 | This is one of my favorite Rumbles. I love it when wrestlers get a chance to really showcase their skills and last a long time in the ring. A record 15 men in at one time before they starter whittling down. It is possibly in my top five. Plus a couple of comedic spots.
08.02.2024 | Johnny Rellik 949 | 7.0 | An amazing Rumble., just by the last 10 men performance could be one of the all time greats. It started glorious with Rey and Morrison battling, trying to eliminate each other and using their ability to avoid elimination, brilliant. Then they come some athletic dudes and the action remain entertaining. And just under the 10 entrant Triple and Orton had already entered, good foreshadowing of his upcoming Mania Match, Orton was joined by Legacy who leave a good impression, specially Cody, that Goldust interaction was tremendous, the Trio worked almost to perfection, they managed to eliminate Kane, Big Show by tooking all of their number adventage. Taker was also a strong performance, the Jericho elimination it's a legendary classic, and Jericho did great too, in his first Rumble since 2005, that RVD elimination was well done, RVD also had a good performance, from the explosive return to the his frustrating elimination. A lot of eliminations close to 1 minute, bad considering they are fine wrestlers. Props to Mysterio and Punk, they do great too. But the roster was staked, i usually separate the stars from the actual roster, but today, the stars were the roster, Taker, Triple H and Big Show in their prime are on another level, they contribute a lot for this kind of matches. And again, the ending it's a masterpiece, the right man won it. They failed on the Mania ME but not on this night, and yeah the Rumble involved that storyline. ***3/4

It took me a long time to warm up to Randy Orton, but looking back, he was the right choice to win, infinitely better than another Triple H win. This Rumble was ok, but I'll never seek it out to watch it by itself. |
