[4.0] "They called this a casino royale match but it was basically a tag team Royal Rumble. It seemed like it went on forever to start with, but I fucking popped when Evil Uno ran into the post to eliminate himself after Marko Stunt didn't land the rana. They let the ring get far too full for long periods but once it got down to Silver, Jungle Boy, Fenix and Pac it was pretty good. Some cool elimnations from Rey especially but not enough to really drag this much beyond passable. Probably still the best AEW battle royal I've seen so far but that's not saying a lot. **"
[7.0] "I really enjoyed this match tbh, i like the idea of a tag battle royal or tag rumbles as there quite fun espically with the rule both men have to go out, Pac getting thrown out and almost having a shocking comeback for jungle boy was for not when fenix held on for lucha bros to win, really fun one!"
[5.0] "Really formulaic tag team battle royale. Team enters, do 90 seconds of their spots and sequences, someone else enters, rinse and repeat. So much of my pet peeve where people lie outside of the ring and wait for their moment to come back in and hit more of their spots. However, this was elevated by a really solid sequence towards the end between Rey Fenix and Jungle Boy. Love how Jungle Boy is being built as this underdog babyface having him get so close to winning, gonna be a huge pop for him when he finally wins something."
[5.0] "Just an average royale match with the only memorable things going for it was the QT Marshall heel turn, the final two with Jungle Boy and Rey Fenix and Death Triangle being nice winners of the match."
[9.0] "I love Rumble style matches and I thought this was exceptionally well done, especially the back half. The whole final stretch of guys felt like pure fire, one of my favorite matches of the night."
[4.0] "Very drawn out with no real standout moments until the final between Jungle Boy and Fenix, both of whom had a good match within the match but not exactly worth the wait or PPV caliber. Also, the Casino Battle Royale gimmick has never produced a good match and just seems to weaken the excitement of entrants."
[6.0] "I don't really like gimmick matches but whatever. What this huge Battle Royale made clear to anybody watching it, is that AEW has no really star-power in their roster. Private Party and Jurassic Express are on a good way, I won't lie, but besides SCU and the duo from Death Triangle you really got bored quickly. Luckily, the last part was really good thanks to the incredible Rey Fenix. Fenix and particularly PAC should compete for the World Title as Main Eventers, instead they have to work with rookies. The winning team was picked right, thank you for that, Tony."
[6.0] "The formula was easy: a team enters, they do some of their best combinated manouvers, they taunt and repeat over and over again and a first it was fun but it quickly got boring. However despite being too long and with too many people in it this was one of the best royales Aew has eved done. Final stretch with Fenix and Jungle Boy was amazing. 6/10 - 3.25*/5*"
[4.0] "In classic AEW-battleroyale fashion, this match was messy, long and very very boring. I understand, however, its a good way to give as many people on the card a payday, I can't really hate that, it just doesnt make a good match unfortunately. The last leg of this match was good, however."
[8.0] "I thought this was the best battle royal AEW has done. The final sequence with Rey Fenix and Jungle Boy was incredible. Hope to see them go 1 on 1 sometime in the future."
[3.0] "This match felt like an eternity and absolutely nothing could be said about it until the final stretch with the last couple teams who actually did great in those closing moments."
[4.0] "There were just way too many teams in this match that had no business being on a PPV. I get that it's nice to want to feature everyone but it's to the detriment of the show as a whole. That's not to say they can't be in a battle royale, just not a match that takes up nearly a half hour of a 4 hour show."
[3.0] "I'd be very happy if AEW cut these battle royales from their PPVs. They're never memorable and always go way too long. The last couple minutes of the match were great but didn't justify the length."
[3.0] "A total drag until the closing moments, and I don't understand who thought it would be a good idea to have a half hour match filled with jobber tag teams."
[7.0] "A good battle royale starting off with Dark Order and Natural Nightmares . Off to a good start with dark Order showing off some cool moves till PnP arrived and took control over the match . Then we had some less interesting teams like Sydal brothers , Gunn Club , Bononi/Avalon who overstayed their welcome . Teams like PnP and Dark Order (Stu and Uno) were eliminated too quickly . The stars of this match were 10, Silver, Fenix, and Jungle Boy . Bear Country and Butcher and the Blade looked good . Their were big guy confrontations but not executed like they should have been with Bear Country eliminating Luchasaurus only for them to be thrown out by Butcher . The only story in this match was QT eliminating himself after Dustin pissed him off. I would have liked inclusion of FTR , Good brothers, Wardlow/Hager as part of inner circle , top flight, TH2 etc:. or maybe a surprise impact tag team but they failed to capitalize here. I liked the final four combination and the last sequence between Jungle Boy and Fenix was awesome with a bit of hard hits and a good spotfest . The problem was the lack of drama on an elimination , the moments and the outrageous oversold Uno elimination does not count in any of those categories . A battle or confrontation between two that would have all the attention. Still the right team won in death triangle and some were able to show their skills and possibly some went out looking better before entering ***1/2"
[6.0] "I felt this match dragged quite a bit in the middle of it, but overall it was pretty fun match with strong finish. It was mostly fluid outside of the Uno's elimination spot. Jungle Boy got a lot of time to shine, and I'm glad that Fenix was the last one standing. ***"
[5.0] "Mostly dull until the last few minutes or so. It's just too hard to care about anything happening with ten people in there. The final stretch was excellent as most people said, but the rest was boring with huge lack of star power and body piling up all over. [**1/2]"
[5.0] "Loved the ending of this match between Fenix, PAC, John Silver and Jungle Boy. It took awhile to get there, but section was really action packed and fun."
[6.0] "I thought this was okay but it was still a bit of a momentum killer. There's some consistency there in Jungle Boy being good at this match type, so points for that. The Uno/Stunt spot was unbelievably bad. I still think it's a bit weird to have a stage attached to the ring in this kind of match and I'm sure we've seen teased eliminations on that side before."
[7.0] "This was better than most AEW battle royales, but still had a very dull beginning two-thirds. Some sloppy eliminations and camera work that failed to capture what was happening some of the time. The closing stretch was thrilling, the final four guys (and choice of winner) was perfect. By the end of this I was having a ton of fun - and to quote a certain reviewer - I was pacing in the den. 3 and a half stars."
[6.0] "This probably shouldve been on the buy in before the women's tag match. It ate A LOT of time, was all over the place spot wise. Who is interested in QT angles?"
[7.0] "It had a good start that slowed down a lot and the middle half was super boring. It dragged quite a bit before the last eight men. The last two( JUNGLE BOY AND REY FENIX )were especially amazing . ***1/2"
[8.0] "The Match of The Match, even though it was as botch-festival. The elimination of Evil Uno was so ridiculous, even Excalibur cracked up. Reynolds did a brutal Piledriver on laying Christopher Daniel. Alex just crushed Christopher's chest with his knee. Ending with Fenix and Jungle Boy was awesome, however too short. They could go longer, I guess."
[7.0] "This was just a match to get a bunch of people on the show, but it was actually pretty fun. My biggest gripe with this match is that I found it didn't spotlight specific performers or stories very much, it was mostly just a battle royale with people being thrown over the top and it being difficult to keep track of what's going on. However, near the ending, this match really shined, especially the final 4. This match isn't anything you need to go out of your way to see, but it was a fun little battle royale that wasted some time and put a nice spotlight on the finalists."
[4.0] "This was shaping up to be my most hated match in a long time just because so much of it went on forever and it was all teams you couldn't really care about. But... the last four was indeed great. It's so weird that Fenix and Pac might be a better tag team than Penta and Fenix, and you know, for that reason I don't think you need a 30 minute match to get people on board with a tag title match for them!"
[5.0] "On what planet is a 25+ minute battle royal a good idea, especially when it's following an 18-minute tag match? There were some cool moments and the result was great but my goodness, what a mediocre match to cap off a mediocre opening hour. **1/2"
[6.0] "A good tag team battle royal with everyone doing great. The Bears, who i haven't seen before, stood out to me and i hope to see more of them, Fenix and PAC were great as well everyone was great."
[5.0] "not a big fan of Battle Royal's in general, and also not a fan of 'we must get everyone on the card' matches, but this was pretty decent for what it was, certainly went way to long, could of easily cut 10-15 minutes off of it What I did like was that there was plenty of storytelling going on within the match and it wasn't just a everyone fight until everyone is out type match, you could see plenty of booking decisions being made, Jungle Boy eliminating both Santana and Ortiz surely means we'll be getting Jurassic Express vs Santana/Ortiz, a new team called Bear Country appears will be facing off with Butcher and Blade, QT and Dustin appear to be going there separate ways after Dustin like a complete dork decided he was angry his tag partner eliminated someone in a battle royal, hey Dustin are you trying to win the tag titles or what? I don't blame QT for walking out on him, and obviously it's going to be PAC/Fenix vs Young Bucks, when it got down to the final four of PAC, Fenix, Silver and Jungle Boy, I had no doubt that PAC & Fenix would win as Jurassic Express are clearly going in another direction with Santana & Ortiz, and Silver and Reynolds aren't close to being ready enough to challenge for the tag titles, plus that's got to be the best match they could deliver in a tag team setting, good booking in the match, makes this better than it should of been (**1/2)"
[6.0] "This match was OK, but felt inferior to the tag team battle royal that was on Dynamite like a month ago. The winners were the only ones that made sense from a storyline perspective. There were no good swerves and the only real storyline thing to occur was QT eliminating himself, which honestly, not that many people care about. Bear Country and Cezar Bononi looked solid in their first PPV appearance. The Gunns and Mike Sydal were on screen so little they might as well have not been there."
[6.0] "Initially a standard issue (if slightly sloppy) battle royale, this really picked up when it reached the final four. All incredibly good performers who made believable winners, this picked up the pace to a sprint by the end and became very entertaining. The earlier stretch is nothing special, filled with bottom-of-the-card teams who never felt like convincing threats, although I did enjoy the story told between Dustin and QT. There was one very bad looking spot involving Evil Uno & Marko Stunt, but other than that, this was pretty decent, if maybe slightly underwhelming for a PPV. It does set up a can't-miss match, at least."
[7.0] "While not fantastic, the battle royal was filled with a lot of great moments and I felt like it built up a good amount of new stars within it's amount of spots. As there was storytelling with QT Marshall, a strong debut from Bear Country, and even an almost underdog moment with Jungle Boy almost getting the win. (***)"
[7.0] "This was a fun battle royale. Came with its awkward moments here n' there, but matches like these always do. Solid action all the way trough with a real nice flow - all elevated by the awesome finishing stretch between Fenix & Jungle Boy. Good match."
[3.0] "Quite a mess, but from the final four it was enjoyable. Tempted to give a bonus point for the laughably bad EVIL Uno elimination, so bad it was (almost) good."
[6.0] "This did a lot to end up in a Jungle Boy/Fenix showdown which was by far the highlight. A lot of other guff in amongst it, with the whole match having too much going on. I don't quite buy Death Triangle yet, PAC is too much of a loner character to be so comfortable with Fenix."
[4.0] "This was a wet hot cluster with some clumsy botches (including that embarrassing Marko/Uno spot that would have been the worst thing on the show if not for the last five minutes of the PPV) and almost no hot action all the way until those last 3-4 minutes. And then, it absolutely came alive with a closing stretch that made Jungle Boy/Fenix look like the biggest money match in the world, with both guys working like they were HBK and Taker in the 07 Rumble, just throwing everything they had while making you absolutely electric at the possibility of a singles match. Without that last bit, this was a complete dud, but it single-handedly elevated this whole match."
[5.0] "AEW has yet to put on a really good battle royal. This one got exciting at the end with the Final 4, but was awkward and at the same time uncoordinated and too gimmicky, with almost everyone being eliminated on the crowd side. Loved the winner team though."
[3.0] "I didn't like this battle royal, it was bad booked, LAX being eliminated too early for example, or some spots were too much like with Rey Fenix who bored me a lot here, his Suicide Dive in a battle royal was unecessary. The finish is awful, too much returns and spots for nothing. *3/4"
[5.0] "The end of the match between Fenix & Jungle Boy was the only part of the match that really get me in to it. Until that, it was basic action for a Battle Royal."
[8.0] "A decently good match amplified by some of the best final moments I have ever seen in a battle royal style of match. Jungle Boy looked like a star despite finishing as the runner up, and the sequences between the final four really elevated this match."
[6.0] "By far one of the better battle royals in AEW's history so far. A very enjoyable match that felt quick and did a good job showcasing the strengths of each team. The middle portion of the match did lack a little bit compared to the strong start and finish. Also had a few questionable booking decisions and a bit of botching (especially Uno's elimination). All was saved by the great ending stretch though. Rating: ***"
[8.0] "There's a few exceptions but AEW generally does their battle royals very well and this was no different. Honestly I think it could've been even better if, like most of AEW's battle royals, the middle was better. The beginning was very hot and the end, with Silver, Pac, Fenix and Jungle Boy as the Final Four, was excellent. The middle though featured a little too much bulk and enough clunky moments that I can't rate this as a truly great match. It was still really good though, with Bear Country coming off really well, Jungle Boy having another top tier performance, John Silver and Pac having a dynamite interaction and Fenix getting a big win to cap off a great first few months. A strong match that will lead to an uber enticing Pac/Fenix vs. Young Bucks match."
[4.0] "This was a disaster. Poorly booked and chaotic start. Last 4 was awesome. Indeed, it seems AEW can't book battle royales or multi-man matches properly."
[8.0] "Easily MOTN. This was just chaotic fun. The final 4-5 sequence especially was good. Death Triangle were who I wanted to win it, so I am very glad to see them pull it off. I hope they take the tag titles ASAP."
