101.12.2022ThomasChaos8.0The Tsuruta and Kawada dynamic continues to be one of the greatest things ever. This match is short, but the action never lets up, and as I've mentioned in other reviews Kawada has great chemistry with both Tsuruta and Yatsu, who in this match have both embraced their roles as the heel. Tsuruta vs Kawada is almost every bit as interesting at this point as Tsuruta vs Tenryu.
207.12.2020KinchStalker7.0This was JIP in the contemporaneous broadcast, but if the match time given on the Cagematch event entry is correct we've only lost around thirty-five seconds. We enter on one hell of a note, as the Olympians pummel a bloodied Kawada on the outside. Jumbo kisses his fist before slugging him. Hell. Yes. That sets the tone. Korakuen hates the Olympians tonight, and they play the heels with absolute relish. These Damn Kids Will Learn To Respect Jumbo (and Yatsu). Footloose are excellent babyfaces as usual. Great bit where Jumbo goes into the crowd to throw chairs at Kawada later on. This is a blast, and Fuyuki kicking out of the Yatsu powerslam is a satisfying nearfall with King's Road-style progression writ all over it. Only nine minutes, and slightly shaved besides, but this is a blast. ***3/4, and hell, a **** wouldn't be totally unreasonable.
