[10.0] "This was a classic babyface vs. heel title match, but done in a Dragon Gate-style epic way without the infamous '10 minutes of limb work that goes nowhere' trope, that became synonimous with the Main Event house-style around that time. Instead there was clever cheating by YAMATO, units interfering at the right time and excellent execution from both wrestlers every step of the way. Pretty much all of the big moves got big reactions which kept the amazing crowd, that was hot right from the start and was invested in the outcome because they wanted to see Yoshino prevail. Pop for the finish was tremendous, I'm sure a lot of pro-wrestlers are dreaming about a pop like that when they try to imagine their big title wins."
[9.0] "One of the best Dream Gate matches of all time, insane match with a fantastic storytelling and character work from both wrestlers who deserve to be quoted as two of the best in the company's history and even more. YAMATO betrayed Shingo Takagi, then took the Dream Gate off his hands, and doesn't act like a champion worthy of the championship given he's cheating a lot and gets a lot of help from his MAD BLANKEY peers which is something that Yoshino wants to stop and saves the company from those spoiled brats, including his former best friend, Naruki Doi. Yoshino showed at the beginning that he's not to be treated lightly by working over YAMATO's left arm by using his incredible technique until YAMATO distracted the ref to give a low blow to Yoshino then used the help of his stable to attack Yoshino. YAMATO's heelwork was resplendent, how he bullied Yoshino like he was nothing but the Fastest wrestler in the world won't let YAMATO embarrass him and he will correct him for the shitty stuff he's doing. Then we had the last minutes, oh boy this absolutely rocked with the interferences from MAD BLANKEY that added a lot to the match, the spot when they all went to Yoshino and then Monster Express did the same on YAMATO was great, a spot that he's not unusual in the promotion but it always adds something to the match. Yoshino's win with a modified version of the Sol Naciente was tremendous and MAN the pop he got was tremendous. Must watch - ****3/4"

[7.0] "Fast-paced, a real strong heel vs face dynamic and a hot Korakuen crowd, you love to see it. YAMATO worked a lot better than he usually does for me here as a shithead heel that as the match progresses finds himself getting humbled by the conquering babyface. From when Yoshino starts firing up with those overhead chops to the finish, it's pretty exciting all the way. The faction interference (even though the ref distractions are always stupid) actually did a good job to show that this isn't just two dudes in the void fighting for a title, it feels like a result that'll affect everyone. This isn't perfect, Yoshino's initial comeback could've come way sooner and I'm not crazy about Yoshino's Sol Naciente submission move which took up a lot of the drama towards the end, but the tap out and the reaction to the finish is pretty great."
[7.0] "As far as Dream Gate title defenses go, this is not close to being one of the worst, but this was still disappointing to a degree. At least from what I expect from a match between these two. Hardly an offensive match, it's just the match was more about the story of the feuding factions than it was about putting on a straight match."
