[6.0] "The crowd were hot for this but it was slightly too indie for me. Mini Vikingo and Star Boy Charlie flipped their way through the match but whilst looking damn impressive, their offence didn't look threaten at all. The Vanities kept match together and on point..... they really are growing on me this bunch."
[8.0] "Chazz Hall and Mini Vikingo had a fun run even though it was short. The two tag team matches they tagged together in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament were enjoyable. The Opener for NXT was fun. I didn't expect the WWE NXT Tag Team Champions, Vanity Project, to lose at all, but I expected a very good, fun, and exciting match, which was delivered. Vanity Project moving on wasn't a shocked I had them in the Finals, either them or the Creed Brothers, but very fun match. I wish Chazz Hall and Mini Vikingo could be a permanent team on NXT."
[8.0] "That was a very good and fun match between both teams here in NXT, so fun an fantastic match all of them in the ring made a excellent perform i enjoyed watchin it so much really i liked it it was spectacular. ****"
[6.0] "Started out good but they were going too fast and they got sloppy towards the end. Vanity Project are right winners & i'm still impressed by Mini Vikingo he's a special talent"
[8.0] "I thought this was a lot ot fun. Mini Vikingo and Starboy are very small, but their agility makes them an exciting prospect in the tag team division and they got a lot of their offence in tonight. Vanity Project are no slouches and were good bases for the high flyers. The highlight, for me at least, was Vikingo's pin breakup. We've seen that before and land in a Canadian Destroyer, but have we ever seen it land in a poison rana? I don't think I have, anyway. There were a couple of minor botches towarrds the end, but nothing too drastic or enough to take away from a really fun and fast-paced opener."
[5.0] "An opener that allowed the almost certain losers to shine. VP could have gotten a bit more offense in, though--aside from the commercial breaks. In-ring quality: 1.75/5. Stakes: 0.75/2. Justification: 1/1. Placement on the card: 1/1. Suspense: 0.25/1. Bonus/penalty: none. Total: 4.75/10. Match watched on Netflix (FR)."
[8.0] "There was fantastic work here from both ends. Mini Vikingo is fantastic, the highlight of the match was him breaking up Baylor's pin and then landing a poisonrana on Smokes. Although Chazz Hall's athleticism was nothing to scoff at either, and his kicks were fantastic. Vanity Project really got circles ran around them here but their offense is always sharp enough to keep them from falling too far behind and they were the rightful winners by the end. The slight botches and shorter length keep this match from transcending but it was amazing regardless."
"(7.0) This was a really fun Tag Team Match, and I genuinely enjoyed what Mini Vikingo & Chazz Hall brought to the table. Mini Vikingo's athleticism was absolutely fantastic, and some of his high-flying moves were definitely the highlights of the match. Chazz Hall also had a good showing, and I thought the two worked surprisingly well together as a team. Vanity Project did a great job, showing good chemistry and taking advantage of their opportunities to pick up the victory. It really felt like Mini Vikingo & Chazz Hall could pull off the upset, but the win ultimately went to Vanity Project, which makes sense considering they are the NXT Tag Team Champions. I would have loved to see Mini Vikingo & Chazz Hall advance further in the tournament, but overall, this was an entertaining match that gave everyone a chance to shine. However, I noticed two botches during the match. The first one happened when Chazz Hall jumped from the corner and attempted to hit Brad Baylor with a DDT, but they failed to execute the move properly before managing to recover. The second botch happened towards the end, when Ricky Smokes was supposed to have his knees up during Chazz Hall's corner jump, but the spot didn't go as planned. This second mistake was particularly noticeable, especially since it directly led to Vanity Project getting the victory."
[7.0] "A classic, timeless dynamic pitting high-flying babyfaces against an opportunistic heel faction. It's a really fun tag match, especially with Mini Vikingo in the mix. That said, I felt like Starboy Charlie (or whatever moniker he's going by in NXT now) was handed a pretty generous spotlight that he couldn't quite capitalize on. There were a couple of noticeable botches and a few spots where the execution just looked awkward and didn't land cleanly. Obviously, I'm not writing him off based on one isolated performance, but that was definitely the takeaway here. On the other side of the ledger, I had never seen The Vanity Project work as a tandem before, though I was already familiar with Jackson Drake. They didn't exactly blow me away, either. It ended up being a fairly paint-by-numbers, generic tag match. To be fair, that classic formula works wonders to warm up the crowd as an opener, and it's a perfectly functional, mechanically sound tag team bout with entertaining beats, but it never really ascended past that level. What really dragged the whole thing down a notch, though, was the finish: it felt pretty lackluster and frankly confusing. The execution of the illegal/legal man dynamic was so muddled that if commentary hadn't explicitly spelled out who actually held the legal tag, I wouldn't have had a clue what was going on in the closing stretch."
