[8.0] "Great match. First time seeing Sareee (what an awful name) and Syuri. Both looked impressive and I enjoyed Syuri's meaner, shoot figher style edge at times. Would be happy to see more of these title matches on the cards. ****1/4"
[7.0] "The best thing about Joshi is the intensity. They scream in anger and clearly lay their forearms in. Matches get messy with hair pulling and headbutts, but that again amplifies the realism, which is something lost in modern wrestling. I'm not a huge Sareee fan, but she's great as a ring general here, to the point where it was disappointing that the match didn't go any longer."
[7.0] "Man I really need to catch back up with modern joshi don't I? This was about as good as almost all the best matches from NJPW's G1 this year, and it's not a surprise why when you have two gifted strikes and willing bumpers going out there to both deliver hard hits and take hard hits, and all in a 15-minute match that somehow still feels like a sprint. They started off almost teasing a respectful match with some impressive grappling, but then Saree upped her aggression which just caused a loop of both women then firing up and getting more and more vicious in response. There were definitely some moments of awkwardness when it involved either of them running around or going for more physically complex sequences, but in terms of their striking basically everything looked great. They even had some 50/50 strike exchanges, which I usually hate because of how generic and predictable they are, but here both women were just smashing the hell out of each other's chests with clubbing elbows and then slapping the hell out of each other's faces, and the key part is that they weren't doing it in a completely predictable rhythm like how these sequences are done 99% of the time these days, as they instead had a more naturally chaotic pattern of when they'd strike. They even upped the intensity in that final 1/3rd as they introduced some perhaps slightly overkill elements (rapid big-move trades with intentional no-selling), but they always stopped well short of going overboard, and it was truly impressive just how nasty Saree's neck-first Exploders looked, and to a lesser but still very admirable extent just how nasty Syuri's various head-kicks looked. Perhaps Syrui got protected a bit too much by taking so many nasty moves and surviving, and I did wish they'd explored more of the submission ideas they both very briefly introduced, but for the most part this was just really fun and a great way to kick off a show. ***1/2"
[6.0] "You see, the thing is, this match just isn't my cup of tea. I'm not a big fan of women's wrestling in general, and Japanese women's wrestling is even more off-putting to me. That doesn't mean it's bad, but it just doesn't align with my preferences. Perhaps other viewers will find it more appealing."
[10.0] "A frankly awesome match, after a slow opening minutes they went all out with brutality and delivered incredibly hard shoot kicks and neck landings. Should have been way longer for what it was. ****3/4"
[8.0] "Great opening. NJPW is getting used to introduce female wrestlers to her shows, and that one in specific looked pretty good for my taste, they used two of the best wrestlers in the world for opening their show. That could be the main event if NJPW booked it for them, for example. The weakest one they had at the trilogy that year, but still a proper match, with probably the best ending strech all of the three matches ever had. Syuri winning was definatelly something off my head, just like she tried to take Sareee's head off a few times here."
[2.0] "Stupid match. I really dont know how else to put it. Its stupid. Shoot headbutts look worse than worked headbutts because you have to go slower. So they're giving each other brain damage for no reason. Either that or these were awful looking worked headbutts. Absolutely no coherent in ring story. Spotty selling. Just a bunch of strikes, head drops, etc basically until they decide it's time to be done. This is like one of those C tier Marvel movies. Lots of big spots that looks cool as a gif, but no substance. Oh also, imagine if one of the stunt men actually gave himself brain damage on purpose. Jackass/powerslap style wrestling and unfortunately it's apparently very popular."
[5.0] "The main appeal for me in this one is Sareee's striking. It just comes off as so impactful . The structure of the match and the character work that goes into it doesn't take advantage of it, though. For my money, Sareee is much better mechanically at striking and they are trying to have and endurance test in the form of a bombs back and forth. So when Syuri is the one winning doing (mostly) the same as her opponent with the same kind of approach while looking worse doing it, you have a problem. Some of the ways Syuri lands on her neck are gruesome, though. Between that and Sareee's forearms it makes for a good highlight package, but not much more than that in my opinion."
[9.0] "I have really mixed feelings about it. Before i even begin talking about the match itself let's have a conversation how this match should have NEVER happened on this card - women in NJPW are being disrespected by having only a few minutes of match time compared to other matches (here it was actually decent but they deserved at least 5 more) Also Sareee vs. Syuri is the kinda match that could easily main event the Tokyo Dome and here they were opening some random NJPW event. The match itself was actually amazing as expected, it was cool to see them in short match - they had to really pack it with crazy stuff. The crowd was unfortunately not feeling this one until Sareee unleashed and started dropping Uranage after Uranage - Syuri kicking out of every single one was such a bad decision as it made Sareee look weak and on top of that she lost which should've never happened in the first place. I truly believed Sareee would go to Wrestle Kingdom and maybe then drop the belt - even to Syuri but not on some B level show. Overall the match delivered so i won't rate it lower than 9 but almost everything surrounding it was catastrophic - it was set to fail before it happened which sucks looking at the fact both are literally better than 99% of the NJPW roster. ****, 5"
[6.0] "This fight had bery brutal striking from the two, they gave their all into that, the action was good, but the match length was very low for the stakes at hand and the finish was the most stupid ever, getting out of sareee's finisher 3 times, looks like a brock lesnar match, which is not a compliment, I wish the finish was different, because it buried sareee which was not necessary, and I wish NJPW would give more time to women on their card, because so many of their talent can't even compare to the talent these two have, this should have been 20 minutes"
[8.0] "A strong opening match, which due to being the opener of a NJPW card.It didn't get the time they had in their previous matches, but they made the most of it in front of 5000 people in Sumo Hall. Definitely the lesser of their trilogy this year, but still a good match and they did it on a big NJPW show. Damn near stole the show too, took the crowd a few minutes to get into this but they had them by the end. Good leg work from Sareee, but it wasn't enough to stop a determined Syuri. Glad Syuri is the first two time IWGP womens champion, hopefully she gets a good reign this time."
[9.0] "Surprised at the ratings here I thought this was really good. I get it's not as good as there other matches but they cooked right here to the point it was the 2nd best match of the night"
[9.0] "Absolutely love this match. Two of the best women's wrestlers in the entire world. And it is physical as hell. Appreciate then going home when the crowd is into it and probably at the climax of there reactions which leads to a great match. Slight talk of sareee going elsewhere in the world of wrestling interested to see if it is true. (****1/4)"
[9.0] "I loved their first match, was excited for this match and I wasn't disappointed. I will say I wish this got more time cause they were cooking. 14 minutes is a good amount of time, but I feel like they should've gotten 5 or 6 kore minutes. Sareee is so freaking stiff with those elbow shots to Syuri my god. Those headbutts both we're giving to each other makes me cringe every-time I see it, I've been learning about CTE and head trauma in my sports class, and just seeing it after learning about it just worries me. This was just as good as their previous match back in June."
[8.0] "[4, 25 Stars] It was the most disappointing match of their trilogy. When the IWGP Women's Title is defended at New Japan, it's not good. The NJPW crowd reacts very badly to Joshi, it's terrible."
[9.0] "Normally, Japanese wrestling cards are structured so that you get basic preliminary matches to begin with before the real meat of the matter happens at the end. So colour me surprised to see two of the best joshis of 2025 having such an intense hard-hitting match right out of the gate. Absolutely magic. If you weren't aware of why Sareee is called the Sun God before, you sure are now. Let's run this back and given them even more time, I could watch this all day."
"Not a bad match by any metric, but very underwhelming compared to their two previous matches, it's a shame that they only gave them 15 minutes. Nice hard hitting exchanges and good final stretch with some nasty looking suplexes by Sareee."
[6.0] "Wasn't the masterpiece I had in mind. Compared to the two singles matches they have had this year, this was nothing. I was surprised to see a title change aswell. I thought Sareee was capable of carrying the title till WK. Anyways, the hard hitting kicks of Syuri was insane and Sareee's suplexes was gnarly but apart from those this was too simple for their level."
[10.0] "Falls short compared to their previous two encounters, but still an insanely good match from two of the best in the world today. A Syuri win puts their singles record at 1-1-1, and this is a great addition to this growing rivalry. Great bell to bell action, stiff strikes and dangerous suplexes, just joshi at it's best whenever these two clash."
[10.0] "This match is so much fun. I love the Jordynne Grace Giulia match from earlier this year and this match is like that one just WAAY harder hitting. It's not too short nor too long, constant action and CTE inducing headbutts and forearms, Sareee dropping Syuri on her neck every second like its her job, just awesomeness from end to end!"
[6.0] "***3/4 Good match, but disappointing even if I was expecting something clearly worse than their previous two encounters. It was entertaining but the crowd was too subdued and only reacted to some of Syuri's kick-outs and at the end. There were some uncoordinated moments but nothing too serious although very strange. The best part of the match was the hard hitting and the very good intensity they showed. The ending was a bit cold and simple but functional."
[7.0] "It felt like the cliff-notes version of what they could've done. It started slow but once they started throwing bombs, it got nasty in the best way. That headbutt looked like it shaved years off both their lives. The pacing dragged a bit and the ending felt abrupt. A good, gritty fight."
[7.0] "(3.5*) I think this match is fine, not bad but not that great, it didnt exceed my expectations. I think this is their worst match of their series but that isnt really a bad thing. Im so happy for Syuri, hoping her title run this time is good."
[8.0] "This wasn't as good as their other two matches but still this was really good & it had a satisfying ending to one of my favorite in ring rivalries this year. It started slow but picked up a lot in the final stretch, I fell for some of those near falls"
[9.0] "What do you get when you put two of the best wrestlers in the world in the opening match of a NJPW show? A killer match, unsurprisingly! Stiff as hell and unrelentingly brutal. It got a decent amount of time though, which was nice. Syuri's kickout from the three uranages was an incredible near fall. In front of a more invested crowd this would have been electric, but as it was the soundtrack to these two absolutely murdering each other was mostly polite applause."
[8.0] "Definitely the snappier and better version of what I have already seen from them. I have been watching a lot of bad womens wrestling on Wrestle Universe and this made me happy."

Only gripe with this match is the length, 14 minutes is just not enough time for theses two to put on a five star but I'm hoping this means that this means they will have a rematch at Wrestle Kingdom. I'm telling you if that gets booked they will put on a top 50 match of all time mark my words. **** Stars"
[8.0] "Yeah this was fucking great and as brutal as you would expect from the pair of them wish it got more time as after having 2 long matches the rubber being only 15 is annoying. there was only one slight little botch with a hairy looking foot stomp drop of the bottom rope early on but other than that is was pure hard hitting graps which we all love. Both women were fucking excellent as you would expect making the most of the time they were given by just beating the living piss out of each other with strikes. kicks. headbutts and throws. I am in the camp of the finish of the match was a bit strange probably down to the time they were given as Syuri eats four uranagi on the crown of her head and kicks out which ruined the realism normally i wouldn't care to much but in a match built around striking it matters more. she then wins with to buzzsaws and big slam. Overall a really cool match between to badass women that if it had more time would of been even better but watch they did in the time they had was still really good (****)"
[9.0] "Didn't quite reach the heights of their last 2 matches but this was still fantastic. Got more time than I thought they would which is much appreciated. They beat the shit out of each other and Syuri turned into superwoman to get the win over Sareee."
[8.0] "(Grade:B/****) Very good opening match, Something about Sareee action and impactful style she wrestle is so impressive yet frightening especially the forearm strikes she dealt leaving no give for her opponent, Syuri and on top of that the headbutts are gnarly. Syuri did good here too, overcoming multiple Uranage and fighting strong even hitting a headbutt to the back of Sareee's head was unexpected and got the victory."
[8.0] "Not their best match together, i wasn't as long as the previous ones, but it was a great fight, finally Syuri beats Sareee, I'm asking myself what's next for her now."
[8.0] "Very good match for the women's IWGP title. This wasn't as good as the previous two excellent matches Sareee and Syuri had. For 15 minutes they beat each other up in a hard hitting back and forth. They weren't able to pull off some of the storytelling and selling aspects from the other matches because of the time constraint, so they made up for it by keeping the action moving along. The last few minutes were Sareee trying to put Syuri away but coming up short each time, even three straight uranages wasn't enough. Syuri makes a comeback and gets the win to become the new champion. I wasn't at all surprised by the title change for various reasons. 8/10"
[8.0] "(8.2) Very strong showing from both women. Super brutal from start to finish, some of the headbutts in the final 3rd were vile. Super glad to see Syuri back in control of the IWGP Womens world title. These 2 have such great chemistry together, its such a shame they were only given 15 mins. The lead up to the ending was a bit lackluster imo which would have been entirely solved if given 5 or so more mins."
[7.0] "a pretty good match that has a good pace and an interesting structure. a great final act that has some truly believable false finishes. a lot of stiff strikes and classic strong style wrestling here. it was a ton of fun to see syuri finally win the belt and had a good match"
[9.0] "What a brutal match between the two. Outside of one spot going a little awry, this match was exceptional. I think the crowd is used to watching women's matches like that, cause I think an American crowd eats that up more than the local crowd did. Doesn't overstay it's welcome, has a constant flow of action. I'll say, I wish there was a tad more selling, of Syuris leg, of Sareees head, etc. Otherwise, a must see."
[7.0] "Was expecting this one to be a short sprint without a lot of time but I was pleasantly surprised as Sareee and Syuri went out there and beat the hell out of each other for 15 minutes. Good, hard-hitting opener. Only puzzling part was Syuri taking four high angle exploders and then winning right after"
[9.0] "I really enjoyed this despite it being probably their weakest match together. These two just have such amazing chemistry and my god did they beat the everloving shit out of each other. Annoyingly I think the time constraint made it difficult for the match to hit that final gear, but still thoroughly entertaining nevertheless."
[7.0] "Pretty good match but the weakest of the three this year. Though I thought they did the best they could. They were hamstrung by being given less than half the time of their previous matches and a crowd that wasn't very intrested in the match. Thankfully NJPW gave this one a bit more time than they usually give their women's matches, but still a shame this wasn't given at least 20 minutes. Still better than most matches you'll see. 3.75 stars."
[8.0] "Was really liking this up until the repeated kickouts, but then I guess that was central to the story of the match. The best stuff in it came before Sareee's 3 straight Uranage's. Her forearms are a thing of beauty, her bullying Inokiesque desire to prove herself tougher than everyone else, alpha over everyone else, makes her one of the best characters in wrestling, and this match was a great showcase of that. I just wish there had been more fire to Syuri's big comeback at the end to really give the perfect conclusion to the match they were telling."
[8.0] "Super fun and hard hitting opener, I don't have too much exposure to Joshi wrestling but this might as well be my excuse to get into it because this RULED. If only they could get 25 minutes, but even with what they had, they went balls to the walls and I loved every second."
[9.0] "As longtime rivals with an impressive average rating of 9.33 from their previous two encounters, Syuri and Sareee once again proved their absolutely top-tier chemistry in this match. They delivered solid, hard-hitting action with tremendous visual impact. However, the only drawback was that the match was far too short, preventing them from fully showcasing the elite level of performance they're capable of. Even so, this was still a high-quality women's match."
[9.0] "Finally, a women's match in New Japan goes more than 10 bloody minutes, and what a match it was. Syuri and Sareee have put on arguably 2 of the best women's matches of the year prior to this, and it culminates in this, a brilliant if a touch short match between two of the best in the business today."
[7.0] "Very fun and exciting Joshi style match, and a great way to kick off the show. I don't really watch Stardom, but these girls impressed me. It was a good match, good action and had the crowd into it for the majority of the match. Didn't expect to see a new champion and I had no clue who would win so it was very exciting."
[7.0] "Early on this felt like it wasn't going to stamp its mark on their series of matches. But down the stretch they really managed to show the fire they're known for. The Syuri sickout after three exploders was excellent. You have to wonder what the plan around this belt and these two has been. Is Sareee signing somewhere, meaning she had to drop it? The intrigue was present throughout."
[8.0] "This match was so awesome. This is my least favorite of their trilogy but this was awesome anyways. Being pretty compact helped it. The crowd was surprisingly not quiet. So glad Syuri one. Sareee's reign was kinda wasted but all the matches we did get were great. Hoe syuri gets a proper reign from here on."
