[4.0] "They could've at least tried harder with this lol. Obviously Octagon Jr was not winning the title but he should've been showed off a little more. (4/10)"
[4.0] "The match was scheduled spontaneously, after the Worlds Collide open air, and it seemed like a great opportunity for the young talent to show what he is capable of in front of a large audience at one of the most anticipated PPVs in the company. But unfortunately, the match lasted even less than 5 minutes, and even though Octagon was hardly perceived by anyone as a serious threat to Dominic's title reign, here he was shown to be very weak, he could not oppose the champion at all."
[5.0] "A 5-minute run of the mill singles match. They hyped this up on the AAA show but it lasted a very short amount of time. Kind of disappointing but overall just kind of basic. [**1/2]"
[5.0] "A lot shorter than what I was hoping for. Octagon barely got a chance to really shine, in my opinion. I don't know. I think it's cool he got this opportunity at all, but, with only four other matches on the show, I think this could have gotten a few more minutes, at least."
[6.0] "An easy win for Dominik thanks to the distraction by Liv and Dominik finished off Octagon after that. Octagon isn't one of the top singles guys in AAA, so he was just used as a guy for Dominik to do an angle with and set up this match that Dominik won easily. Dominik winning cheap works for him, but against a guy like Octagon, I think they booked it well, with Dominik getting an easy win. **1/2"
[3.0] "I was optimistic when this match was surprisingly announced during Worlds Collide. In the end, it's a completely forgettable bout, with the classic WWE treatment: a super short match because of "no build-up, " and a challenger unfamiliar to the WWE audience, which made the match feel flat by default. That said, the two wrestlers had good chemistry."
[6.0] "I think the current overall rating of 4.6 is pretty harsh. Dom and Octagon Jr did well for what little time they had. Would have preferred if they had gotten at least another 2 or 3 minutes to tell a more complete story which I think could have been afforded to them no problem."
[5.0] "An average showcase opportunity for Octagon. Dom isnt the best dance partner but he allowed Octagon to flaunt a bit of his move pool but it wont have hurt if they'd gotten more time. **1/2"
[5.0] "It was clear that match is a filler match for the show. It wasn't amazing but not awful too. Both wrestlers did their part but yeah it could be better if they were given more time."
[4.0] "A match in which Dom's work really took me by surprise. I haven't keep up with the kid, so it good to see him working heel in very sensible manner. He just doesn't get the advantge unless he crotches Octagon on the ropes. But most importantly, in Dom's brief control segment he displays a certain amount of visciousness that's lacking in so many heels. It is kind of a shame that Dom is just a second early in a couple of Octagon's moves. In spite of it, a perfectly functional short match."
[7.0] "Enjoyed this one for what it was--a fast-paced, short but sweet last-minute mid-card addition. He might not have had long, but Octagon Jr. made the most of his opportunity, and Dirty Dom continues to impress, especially with his heel character work which is consistently excellent even if the crowd are cheering him as much as they boo him!"
[4.0] "This is neat enough, but felt terribly out of place within WWE's current approach to these shows. The match isn't wrestled in a way to remedy that either, barely even showcasing Octagon before going home. It's not a bad match and Dom continues to impress, but this would play far better in almost any other setting, even if I appreciate a rare undercard match breaking out on Peacock. **"
[5.0] "I thought the match was very short, we saw some good moves from Octagon Jr and it was a good opportunity for him to show what he could do, but I still felt like there should have been more time for this match. Dominik was decent, but him winning cleanly without interference doesn't really fit his character."
[4.0] "Too short to really get anything really good out of this. But it was a good showcase for Octagon and I'm assuming it will be the start of a Dom AAA storyline."
[5.0] "For the time they had they did well. But a match that was thrown together earlier in the day, and with very little time, there wasn't much more they could do. Good to see the IC title on a PLE and Octogon jr getting a PLE match. 2.5 stars."
[6.0] "The in-ring work was very solid for as long as the match lasted. At the end of the day, Dominik is no where near his father's level in the ring, so people shouldn't expect too much when he wrestles."
[2.0] "There is simply no reason for this match to exist. A gentleman's squash that could have easily had - and benefitted- from a couple more minutes of spots and/or chain wrestling. After WM it seems more clear that they don't really have a program for Men's IC."
[4.0] "Yeah, that was roughly a match, I was very surprised that this was so one-sided and basically a squash for Dominik, they could've showcase Octagon Jr. waaaay more, but I mean, it wasn't bad also, because Dominik rules, and I enjoyed watching his control segments, it was a cool dominant performance, he's super charismatic, when he suddenly won was a mega bummer, because of what could've been - {**}"
[5.0] "Das spontan angesetzte WWE Intercontinental Title Match das auch durch eine Konfrontation von Dominik und Octagon Jr. bei AAA/WWE World Collide entstand. Hätte schon ein wenig länger gehen können. Trotz Niederlage da ist Octagon Jr einfach mein MVP. Ich gebe hier (**1/4)."
[6.0] "Dominik Mysterio vs. Octagón Jr. was alright, but it kinda felt like a waste of potential, so I'd give it a 6/10. Octagón came out doing some crazy moves and actually looked sick, and Dominik played the cocky heel like he always does, which was fun. But the match was way too short, like not even 5 minutes, and the ending was super predictable with Liv getting involved again. It just felt like something you'd see on a random Raw, not a big event. Could've been way better if they gave it more time and actually made it matter."
[5.0] "To be honest, this match barely deserves a rating. Clocking in at under five minutes, it felt more like a rushed segment than an actual title match on a premium live event. Dominik and Octagón Jr came out with strong energy, and the pace they set in those few minutes hinted at something that could've been genuinely exciting--but they simply weren't given the time to deliver. This kind of match length would've been more fitting for a second bout on a weekly NXT episode, not a midcard championship defense on a major show like Money in the Bank. Even for a secondary title, there should be a baseline of importance and time investment. It's hard not to feel disappointed when you see the potential in both wrestlers and realize it was squandered. If this match had been given the time that, say, Becky Lynch vs. Lyra Valkyria received on the same card, I'm confident it could've been a sleeper hit. Instead, it felt like filler--a quick excuse to get some AAA talent on-screen rather than a meaningful spotlight for either performer. Missed opportunity, plain and simple."
[4.0] "Just a TV match. Nothing to it. Octagon Jr. did a couple of fun lucha spots before Dom hit the 619 and frog splash. Waste of time as any time spent on Dominik is. **"
[5.0] "[2.25*] I actually thought this was a fun showcase match. Of course I'd have preferred a 10-min sprint with more time for them but I liked what I saw besides that awful finish. Dom did a good base for Octagon Jr and I'd like to see a longer rematch."
[6.0] "I thought that Dom Mysterio vs Octagon Jr. was a fun little showcase of octagon Jr but with not enough time. I think they see Octagon Jr as being a major part of the AAA buyout. What they did was good but not enough time to justify a 7. I hope we get more Dom vs Luchadors with a a match against Mr Iguana"
[6.0] "A decent match on the show , enjoyed the work of both , even though it was a short match I still found it to be quite fun, and worth a watch . Good debut for octagon Jr, who I hadn't seen before . Thought the idea of dom defending the ic title against AAA wrestlers could be pretty cool going forward as well"
[3.0] "The match between both men only had a very rushed build with Dom throwing the challenge at Octagon after they brawled with each other at AAA/WWE Worlds Collide (2025) just hours before this and they were only give five minutes to play with, should've been more better given the opportunity."
[3.0] "WWE might be the worst company in the world man, I don't know. They had the chance of showing a great wrestler to everyone else, make this a turning point on Octagon Jr life, entertain everyone else in the crowd because let's be honest, only 4 matches sucks, and them...this match took less than 5 minutes. It was basically a squash match. What a fucking disgrace."
[2.0] "Seriously, why? I'm sure these two can have a great match if they're given the time to do so. I'm not familiar with Octagon as I was only introduced to him at the Worlds Collide show. So it's confusing why they added this as the 5th match where they could've had a US title match between Fatu and Priest. A waste of spot if I'm being honest"
[5.0] "Fun lil undercard match. This had potential to be even better if this got more time but both dom octagon jr did their thing in the time they had this was fun. **.5"
[4.0] "To understand the reason for this arrangement, you should have seen Worlds Collide beforehand. Otherwise, this is a fairly unremarkable match with little to claim for itself. Dominik continues to fail to demonstrate any real class in such matters, while Octagon made a better impression earlier in the day at the Kia Forum. In my eyes, this match is unnecessary to a certain extent."
[5.0] "Octagón Jr is a really talented performer. I was quite excited when the match with Dominik was confirmed earlier in the day at Worlds Collide but unfortunately we didn't get much of a showcase that we could've received. I still believe for a 5 minute match it did well in the principles of showcasing the abilities of each competitor. Logistically Dominik should've won because Octagón Jr already had a match that day so he was not 100%. I do wish we at least got one close call spot with Octagón Jr pinning Dominik but I won't complain too much for Octagón Jr receiving this spotlight."
[1.0] "Oh my lord, this match was so horrible. It was extremely forgettable, incredibly short, and was very, very, very boring. Dominik Mysterio looked as bad as ever, and Octagon Jr. also looked absolutely terrible. This match was just a throw-away match to waste everybody's time. This is disgrace to an already extremely boring show. This just made Money In The Bank ten times more boring. The Intercontinental Championship hardly even means anything anymore, it's a waste. This match is honestly a 1/10. 1/10"
[6.0] "An only slightly competitive enhancement match for Dom, in that it went under 5 minutes, and gave you a taste of Octagon Jr to see if AAA is really gonna work in this colonizer business experiment WWE is playing. The people love Dom, so this didn't work too well for Octagon, whom Pat McAfee breathlessly praised for being maybe the best luchador ever, or was it the original Octagon? and is anyone turning to McAfee for credibility in that field? The announce team isn't gonna be helping getting AAA over here. I'd much rather listen to Spanish I can understand at least the tone and the excitement rather than these American announcer blowhards guessing which stuff to emphasize."
[3.0] "A last minute match with no heat and the only good thing was Octagon Jr's entrance music. Dom can do the basic wrestling school bumps which is more than someone like the Ultimate Warrior, but he still moves in slow motion and can't put on a truly great match. He's not good and he's not going to carry someone else to a great match, especially when it's thrown on at the last second to appease a loud minority."
[6.0] "[3, 25 Stars] It was simple and effective, Octagon offered some good sequences and I liked the fact that the match was improvised at Worlds Collide. (***, 25)."
[7.0] "Great to see a last minute bout like this, absolutely fine, clearly a lot called on the fly, and nice to see the belt defended on PPV. Dom's looking great recently"
[4.0] "Dom isnt the heel he was anymore so this match just doesnt work. Actually hes not a heel at all, they chanted for him and they boo'd octogon jr! On him, it was a decent showcase for him, but the crowd didnt care enough."
[6.0] "Honestly for what I got, I was really satisfied. This was clearly a last second improvisation & sure, Mr. Iguana would have been a better stand-in guy, but these last second twists have no logistic planning leeway & shit just kind of happens as it will regardless with such time crunches. Both guys put in a super solid physical display, in my opinion anyway. It won't move mountains but I really enjoyed it. Much like the universally hated Lesnar vs. Ambrose, could it have been better? Yea sure. Was it good enough? I thought so. Not every single match should be looked at through the lens of "what could have been.""
[5.0] "Very short match. Octagon Jr is talented but got very little opportunity to show it in front of a crowd that does not know him. It does give AAA some exposure and shouldn't hurt Octagon Jr who it was stressed as wrestling his second match of the day with help from Liv."
[5.0] "Too short for my liking, but this was a great showing out of Octagon Jr. Give them 5-10 more minutes, and give Octagon Jr. more offense, and this would be higher for me."
[3.0] "This was probably just under that adequate line for me. Octogon did his part fine. He is a very good wrestler with great agility. Dom did fine, but the script for the match kinda sucked. This was very lazy writing for a PPV match, which I suppose isn't very surprising given how many stinkers we get at these PPVs. The match really went downhill when Liv went on the apron to distract Octogon, a heel move that you can expect to see almost 100% of the time when a heel is allowed to have a friend at ringside, and then Dom capitalizes, hits Rey's signature move and then Eddie's finisher for the 3 count. The only excuse I could easily think of for this match being so short and uninspired was that Octogon's likely unfamiliar with WWE's style of wrestling, which could have made it harder to work a longer match, possibly?"
[6.0] "Fine match, just an excuse to get Octagon Jr on the card and show off the other AAA guys in the crowd. I'd say everyone should go watch Worlds Collide for a much better match with Octagon, Iguana and Aero Star vs LWO and Lince Dorado"
[4.0] "it was half descent for about half the match and then it just became a little awkward? Not entirely sure why we are announcing matches the DAY OF actually about 2 hours before the show just for the giggles i guess and expecting us to give half a crap about this. I was hoping dom would have a generational ic title run but it has been a complete waste so far hopefully that turns around. This match is "it happened" category for me so i'll give it 2.25 stars i guess"
[5.0] "This match served its purpose. The in ring work was enjoyable but the crowd didn't really have any investment and Octagon Jr. could have done with a better showing as this was his introduction to the WWE audience."
[5.0] "This was a fine filler match, but I was enjoying the in-ring action. In thought, this would go for a good eight to ten minutes, but four minutes is wild. Wish this match could have had more time. But Octagon Jr. had a good showing overall from his Worlds Collide and at Money in the Bank. Dominik Mysterio played his role well in this match. Liv Morgan cost Octagon Jr. his chance to end the match, and Dominik Mysterio hit a Frog Splash to retain his WWE Intercontinental Championship. A fun little filler match."
[6.0] "It's sad... I so wanted to see a normal feud between Octagon Mighty and Pentagon Jr. in WWE one day. Participation in WWE PPV card is a big opportunity for Octagon. But he wasn't really given a chance to show himself and the top didn't really care about this match. It was something between Orton vs. Henry and Americano vs. Phoenix at WrestleMania. ***"
[6.0] "Seriously? Just like that? Octagon did a few nice corkscrew splashes, got distracted, got hit with 619 and a frog splash to the back and they called it a day? Yeah...the crowd didn't care, but at least it was solid for what it was"
[3.0] "I gave WWE and Dominik Mysterio a chance, more the fool I. Practically a squash match with Octagon Jr. not even given a chance to show off what he can do."
[3.0] "An obvious time-filler, I do think the PLE's could honestly use more mid-card matches like this but they also should have gave it a little more time"
[2.0] "You would think if you only had 5 minutes on a big show you would make the most of it. Neither guy did here. A huge missed opportunity for Octagon but it's not like he was in there with Nick Bockwinkle. I wouldn't even call this a squash. It was more of a nothing waste of time with a finish."
[4.0] "This was announced weirdly and as an obvious attempt to fill time and stop the discourse which I was fine with as long as the match was good. This was not good. Just a pointless squash, probably making some kind of Fed point. "We can job you out whenever we like." I have never seen Octogon Jnr before, and I still don't know if I want to watch him again. Just mid."
[2.0] "An extremely boring, disappointing match. I was expecting a typical 3-star clash, but what I got was something like a C-class PPV kickoff match."
[6.0] "As an impromptu match this was pretty good, and short as it was expected to since there was nothing much to go from here except to build for AAA as a major promotion under the WWE banner."
[3.0] "So this was just a wash. Not worth talking about. Poor octagon didn't even really get any showing here. I love the idea of Dom going after the Luchas and becoming the best one. He does not need the IC title for that and they could also just have good matches..."
[4.0] "Complete nothingburger of a match. Never seen Octagon wrestle before so I was looking forward to seeing what he'd do against a solid opponent in Dirty Dom and the answer is one corkscrew arm drag. Dom pinned him easily and without much effort, and it's a real waste of not only Octagon but a spot on the card."
[4.0] "Another "not bad, but not really good either" match. It honestly felt like a TV match sneaking its way onto the card because a four-match card for a PLE is taking the piss a little bit too much, and that's because, well, it was. Give it a few more minutes, and I think they could've put on a match worthy of the semi-main on Raw, but as it is... five minutes is only really good enough to keep the wheels turning for Dom and to act as a mini-showcase for Octagon. Like the previous match, more wasted potential than anything."
[4.0] "These dudes were cooking, they were on their way to a really fun match with lots of exciting spots and a good heel/face dynamic that the crowd went with even though they all clearly want to cheer Dom. Utterly deflating to see the match finish so quickly, what we got in the ring was excitement from both of them, this had the potential to be a diamond in the rough For this show but it's cut off so quickly. Disappointing, these lads deserve better. Also 1 point is for Octagon's sparkly pants which I love."
[4.0] "When it this match was announced earlier today, I was a little surprised as to why Octagon Jr of all people. He's fine as a wrestler, but not particularly the brightest Luchador to every exist. Good for him, since it was probably the biggest match of his career, but the failed to be anything special given its length and the overall uninteresting in-ring action. I know it wasn't the plan, but I'll imagine a world where Mr. Iguana was the one to battle with Dom in this match, given the great crowd's response to him. He would have been a better opponent."
[5.0] "Ok since we can rate this, I'll go ahead, since they didn't even get 5 minutes i felt like they should have given this time to Lyra and Becky, but this didn't do that bad, I've seen a little Octagon Jr. but it was nice to see him in a big crowd, Im glad Dominik is Having Title Defenses frequently, because it seems like every time a judgement day member gets a title now they barely defend it, but Liv interfering was nice, to at least have her at the show, i just think i had way to high of expectations, it was definitely rushed."
[5.0] "They did the best they could do with the time they were given but I really don't get what was the point of adding this match if you weren't gonna let them go at least 10 mins. If you gave them even just 7-8 mins, I think they would've delivered a 6-7/10 match. The Dom-Penta match at Backlash was also kinda short (9-10 mins) but that was still good. This match going less than 5 is just setting them up for failure and is a waste of time for the audience, the performers, and everyone involved. Do better"
[4.0] "This kind of felt like a 'here you go here's a 5th match on the card' from Triple H due to the backlash on the 4 Match card so he probably scrambled this in last minute so obviously they weren't going to give this much time which only got given 5 minutes - which just wasn't enough time to really take it to the next level - but the few minutes which they had were decent i thought up until the ending which again was a typical wwe ending with the distraction from liv to give Dominik the win overall 4/10"
[3.0] "Man, this was a let down, last minute match I thought was gonna good turned out to be mid at best. I wanted to like this, but this was not good and was clearly rushed"
