Chris Brookes & Takeshi Masada vs. Jun Akiyama & Shuji Ishikawa

[7.0] "Brilliant bit of booking here with old guard vs. new guard. This always going to be first and foremost a teaser for Ishikawa/Brookes' title match, and the two pair off brilliantly in their chemistry and mismatched big man styles. But the match is also carried heavily by Masada, who takes a "rite of passage" sort of beating from the heel-working veterans that he's become very, very good at in his capacity for SI. The only real complaint here is that the single cam shooting of this show isn't really designed for the split-end outside the ring brawl that occurs, and as a result we miss some critical interactions with Jun/Masada. Honda's promo after the match is also great."
